Re: Review: Fire Emblem: Three Houses - The Zenith Of A Legendary SRPG Series

CroRock

Anyone knows what’s the resolution in docked and portable mode? Can’t find answers myself googling? It’s like they don’t want us to know before we buy.

If it looks like Xenoblade Chronicles on 4K TV I won’t buy. I never was a graphics freak but XC looks horrendous on my new TV and that was a reason I stopped playing it

Re: Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate Hunts Down A Ninth Place Spot In The UK Charts

CroRock

Considering MHGU is free money for CapCom because they already had a game done and ready for west, I think they cannot complain. I’m certainly not, and I’m very grateful they released it because it’s already one of my most played game on Switch. I will easily put over 200h on this one.
Anyone who didn’t buy MHGU miss a great game.
Also.. can’t believe that GTA V is still on any charts at all!

Re: Win A Copy Of Realpolitiks For Switch

CroRock

I never win anything but I’m glad to see you started with this kind of game promotions. And kudos to developers/publishers ofc.
Would like to see more of this on NL. It’s a win-win situation for everyone.

I’m not so interested in this game so I wish you all good luck!

@R1spam
Look for Gaijin Hunter videos on YouTube! This guy rocks everything regarding Monster Hunter series.
His weapon tutorials are the best you can find on internet. I still, after spending over 300h on MH4U can learn so much from this dude

Re: Review: Bad North (Switch eShop)

CroRock

@Ensemen
No, you are wrong.. If you really want to know how good the game is you need to buy it not to read a review. And when you buy it - it’s too late in most cases. That’s the point of my previous posts.
And one more thing.. paid reviews are not numbers.. they are sweet sweet words that justifies that number and leaving out negative sides of games like performance and such.

Re: Review: Bad North (Switch eShop)

CroRock

@Sakura
Hm.. I don’t believe they wouldn’t review the most crapy game out there if devs pay them money to review it. And I’m not talking just about NL but all similar sites. I’m sure they don’t live just from ads running on sites because we all have ad-block on 😁

Re: Review: Bad North (Switch eShop)

CroRock

@Ralek85
I agree with you 100%!
I’m sick of those 8 and 9 (or 80-95 on metacritic) scores from all over the internets. You can’t read an honest review these days anywhere. Take Dead Cells for example as most recent indie miracle that got 9s and 10s mostly from everywhere. For it’s repetitiveness of first 3 levels and enemies I would take 3 points from score minimum. And I bite every time I see good score. I understand that’s the point of hype trains, paid reviews etc but I’m not buying anymore. Too much games sitting on my Switch, 3DS and Wii U I barely played.

Nintendolife is my favorite gaming site but I wish they could be different from others. But I guess money is not there..

Re: Review: Bad North (Switch eShop)

CroRock

It’s time for Nintendolife switch to 1-5 scoring system. No game have had lower then 5 anyway. And don’t even try to nick pick for one or two game that had lower than that in past 10 years.
I’d say 90% games get 8-10 score on this site. It’s getting ridiculous

Re: Paladins Is Now Available As A Free Download On Switch

CroRock

Wow what a nice surprise this game is. Really enjoying it so far. It clicked better with me then Fortnite tbh.. I’m thinking about buying season pass for this one.
If they add motion controls that would be perfect. Just played in handheld mode so far and it runs great.

Re: Reaction: What are Your Thoughts on Nintendo Switch Online?

CroRock

@GamingDude800
What?! You can’t download a game if not subscribed? Wtf? Didn’t know that. It’s not overpriced and I’ll subscribe for whole year anyway but I’m not happy with those lame “free” games I already bought multiple times. Another nonsense from N. Give us browser, YouTube and Netflix already ffs

Re: Sonic Mania Has Sold One Million Units Worldwide, Plus Version Release Date Confirmed

CroRock

Where are those good old days when games had free DLCs. £4 for two characters if you jump early and bought digital. If not for these people (including myself) they would never earn so much money and support a game with new “content”. At least we who had a game digitally from day one should get some free stuff.. No chance I’ll throw more money in Sonic Mania.

Edit: and for price difference for physical and digital.. ok, it’s almost double the price but if you buy physical, you can sell your copy and get your half back..

Re: Hackers Get Linux Running On Switch And Claim Nintendo Can't Patch The Exploit

CroRock

Many customers buy consoles which are hacked to play games they can’t afford. Sometimes they buy original but mostly playing pirated versions. Anyway, that leads to more consoles sell and popularity of the console. And that attracts more developers to bring new games.
Sure Nintendo loses some, but gains some. Wii would never sold as much units if it wasn’t hacked. Same goes for DS, 3DS, etc.
For example, Zelda BOTW in Croatia costs 500kn, basic Switch 2900kn.. and my wife work whole month for 3000kn.

My point is.. if someone who doesn’t have much money buy Switch with Zelda and MK8 and maybe one or two more games in Switch lifetime and pirate all other games because he can’t afford them.. what Nintendo really lost?
Someone who can afford Switch with all it’s library played just Zelda and never touch it again.
Just saying

Re: Review: Celeste (Switch eShop)

CroRock

I’m not surprised nintendolife gave it 10. I was shocked when IGN gave it perfect 10. Fortunately there is no too much water in it. 😁
... So I bought a game and loving it. Funny thing is that it’s a challenging game but not once I got frustrated playing it and repeating sections every time I got killed. And I got plenty of deaths. Over 400 just on chapter 3.
Great game and highly recommended. Much better then super meat boy imo.
There’s really something special about Celeste. The best jumping simulator platformer game I have ever played

The best of the best shumps are produced with Cave inc. After playing their games like Dodonpachi, Espgaluda, Bug Princess end some others, I can’t even take serious all other shumps. They are all dull and simple. Cave games are so deep and complex, yet so satisfying. Music is top notch in every game especially Dodonpachi. They are not available anymore on Croatian apple store and I miss them so much.
God knows what’s with that company these days but their games would be perfect on Switch.

Re: Capcom Explains (Again) Why Monster Hunter World Isn't Coming To Switch

CroRock

@MFD yep, you’re right.. business is business. I know that, I run one. But sometimes.. it’s not just business you know. Sometimes you should remember how small you were and who was with you and who turned their back at you. That’s my experience, if you know better, good for you.
As for capcom.. we’ll see, maybe I’m talking bs.. numbers will tell and time will show.

Re: Capcom Explains (Again) Why Monster Hunter World Isn't Coming To Switch

CroRock

@Heavyarms55 exactly my thoughts.
I had similar experience with one other Japanese game developer back in iPhone 3GS time. Maybe someone heard of them.. Cave inc. they made some of the best shumps ever like Espgaluda, Dodonpachi, Bug Princess etc.. I bought all their games for 15$ or more each when all other games back in time were like 1-2$ without IAPs. I had a blast with that games and played them to death.. but then they stopped supporting and updating them, and now I want to play them but couldn’t even find them on Croatian store. They are gone and they are done as a firm I guess. If they release now all that games for just 1$ on Switch.. there’s no chance I would be buying them. And I really loved that games! They were perfect for touch screen on iPhone and would be perfect for Switch but well.. f them

Re: Capcom Explains (Again) Why Monster Hunter World Isn't Coming To Switch

CroRock

Btw.. portability... it’s not about being able to play MH on the toilet but about local multiplayer. I can see me and my friend and my wife to sit on couch playing on 3 Switches and go on hunt together but can’t see us in same room with 3 ps4s on 3 TVs. Sure there is online but that’s not same like playing it locally. Japanese people play a lot of local MH multiplayer and most of their apartments don’t even have a room for 3 TVs and ps4s.. imagine all that people in trains and schools with their PCs, PS4s and specially Xboxes playing together on their super duper 4K TVs

Re: Capcom Explains (Again) Why Monster Hunter World Isn't Coming To Switch

CroRock

@MFD I bet that those western audience on 3 more powerful platforms won’t be that interested like crapcom would like. We are talking maybe 10% of userbase will get a game. 50% of that 10% will be downloaded from thepiratebay. Mark my word. There are already too many quality games on these platforms (and more coming) to make MHW stand out. I predict fail.. well at least I hope so.
Again, I don’t have anything against other platforms but I hate crapcom atm for not even localizing XX for the west. Greed and completely ignoring western fans of series on Switch will cost them lots of money. You’ll see. Correct me if I’m wrong but developing games for Switch started 2 years ago (or before) and crapcom to this date couldn’t even announce they have something in works for f***ing Switch?! That’s called ignoring the Nintendo 3DS fan base and underestimating Switch before and early after release. Even Nintendo announced Metroid Prime 4 and that game will be probably at the and of the Switch lifetime. ffs I bought Switch because I was 200% sure MH game incoming 2017. I was soooo wrong but I’m so glad I bought it anyway because so many great games and developers who actually believed in Nintendo after Wii U fail.

Re: Capcom Explains (Again) Why Monster Hunter World Isn't Coming To Switch

CroRock

I really, really hope MHW doesn’t sell well! Like, really hope so! I can forgive them not making it for Switch but completely ignoring Switch for MH series (like not translating XX for west at least).. that’s something I can’t forget and forgive! Proper MH would sell few hundred thousands of Switches alone so I hope Nintendo remembers that too. I don’t understand how gaming businesses works tbh but I really want to see Nintendo taking lots of money from capcom when they come on knees begging to release a game for Switch.
I’m not a Nintendo die hard fanboy.. just some miserable person who bought Switch after 3DS and Wii U for playing Monster Hunter on the go. Never had ps4 and never will, so yea, I’m missing a good game (I believe) but capcom misses a few bucks from me for MHW and all other games they release from now on. Maybe I’ll download pirated version for PC.. so.. great business planning crapcom.
