Last weekend, we heard how Dr. Mario World had been downloaded two million times in its first 72 hours of availability. Now, according to even more Sensor Tower Store Intelligence data, it's been confirmed the game ended up surpassing five million downloads in its first week.
This makes Dr. Mario World Nintendo's fourth-biggest mobile launch and places it well-ahead of Dragalia Lost, which had a limited launch. In contrast, Super Mario Run and Fire Emblem Heroes in their first week experienced more than eight million downloads. Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp still remains the most downloaded Nintendo mobile game in the first seven days, with close to 15 million downloads.
Despite being outperformed by Nintendo's other titles in both revenue and downloads, Dr. Mario World's $500,000 player spending sum is still impressive when compared to average mobile releases. Toon Blast made $90,000 in its first week and Candy Crush Friends Saga banked around $170,000 more than the doctor.

Dr Mario World is a good brain teaser on single player with some tough puzzles here and there if youre not careful and versus mode is good and competitive. One slip up on your technique there can be costly. Enjoying it.
Cool beans. I am glad that the Dr. Mario franchise is getting expanded in different territories.
Still not great numbers for a F2P match 3. This thing is going to be forgoten in a month.
It's a great game. Played it a lot the day it released. It'd be nice if they eventually ported it to Switch.
Still not interested in these mobile games. But good for Nintendo if they are making money and spreading brand awareness. Good business strategy.
I dont want to play games on a phone, but I am happy Nintendo is getting money. Maybe now they can afford to have a dedicated Donkey Kong developer?
Still waiting for Dragalia Lost and this one to be available in Croatian Appstore...
Played it for about an hour and I'm done with it now.
If I have to hear that "Ready Go" one more time...
This website is obsessed with these mobile games and how much money they make. Do you get a cut or something?!
As much as I don’t want to admit it I’m hooked on this. Perfect for when standing on the tram or train and I couldn’t otherwise get my main baby out. Up to the fourth world now and versus mode is great fun. And I haven’t spent a penny!
We must think of all the heavy casuals who downloaded thinking it was Super Mario World.
Pretty much how people who bought Super Mario World 2 thinking it was SMW2 and not... a different game.
This is now my one installed mobile phone game, which is high praise. I don't allow myself more than one or I'd never talk to anyone. DMW has now beaten out Geometry Wars 3D, which I have thoroughly played to death.
@SBandy They're Nintendo games. This website is called Nintendo Life. Come on, it's not rocket science.
Ya and I bet at least 1 million people deleted it the same day they downloaded it
Lol my mom is in that number. As expected every time I call she is playing.
Haven't spent a penny on it, haven't felt the need to
I downloaded it then deleted it when I realized it was just an orgasm of micro transactions.
I got bored with it long before I felt any need to spend money. Wonder what the first week delete numbers are compared to the others. I still play Mario Run.
Wait Nintendo is 3rd party now mobile is a rival to Switch.
I gave this a go and played the first 30 levels. It is additive, and is a good take on the match three game and is tough but not that tough.
I have now deleted it. So I wonder what the true download and keep figure is. Probably 50% of downloads are just to try because it's Mario, the next 50% stick with it for a short while, like me.
I would have stayed with it longer but it has issues. A slightly difficult level took me five attempts and each time I got down to one virus left. On the sixth go I beat it and then the game froze and my win was not registered. That's when I deleted it. There was quite a few times when the game froze or when it lost Internet connection. Why does it need in to be connected anyway?
It's very buggy read the reviews first.
I was about to get this until i heard there are microtransactions. Id rather pay one time price. I bought Mario Run just because i was surprised to find a good toilet game with no microtransaction. If you ever gonna release the next Wario Land, dont make it on mobile:(
I stopped playing. It constantly has connection problems, throwing up the old "A communication error has occurred" message that infuriates the hell out of anyone that plays Mario Kart 8 DX online.
The app drains battery like there's no tomorrow. And I got sick of losing to people who have purchased items to help them win.
Another win for Nintendo!
