Re: The Pokémon Company Just Recorded Its Second Best Year In History

@Bon_Kurei You are in the minority, as am I. However, pokemon will continue to produce mediocre games and all we can hope for is that eventually people will get tired of the dated formula. Generally games will head towards obscurity if the formula doesn't change.

However, it is pokemon. People would buy rocks branded by Gamefreak so we'll see.

@fafonio Well Nintendo would probably have the N64 controller release alongside the online. However, I would prefer to have them online from a portable perspective but there's merits to a dedicated mini system.

It seems like Nintendo is just sitting on a gold mine of historical games that people just want to see remastered for the switch. I would easily buy all of the zeldas again for the switch.

@BarefootBowser You mentioned you don't know the reason people don't like the dpad and I referred a video. You don't have to watch it. However, I don't find the lite superior in any aspect. I've had probably a good 3 hours on my sisters when she was living with me and I wasn't a fan. The form factor is cool but the utility isnt there. I also like having my friends over to play either smash or mario kart, which the switch lite lacks.

Nintendo's first party games look much better docked anyway. BOTW and Xenoblade 2 are miles better docked, so it's not just third parties that suffer from not being docked.

@BarefootBowser So in order to combat a system that has limits to trying to be both a handheld and a full game console, you limit yourself further for the sake of it being a handheld? I don't understand that but you're right in regards to options.

If you want information on the Dpad check out spawnwaves videos in regards to it. It effected me the most when playing dragon quest builders 2

Re: A Gorgeous Coral Switch Lite Is Releasing On Animal Crossing: New Horizons Day

@BarefootBowser The Dpad itself is already a no deal for me, if it performs anything like the pro-controller. In addition, the dpad is too far under my thumb for me to consider using it comfortably.

For me the switch lite just doesn't seem like a "value" buy. It makes sense just to save up an extra hundred dollars for the base switch. For someone to save $100 to sacrifice the ability to play on a big tv you also sacrifice the ability to play local multiplayer comfortably which is a big pull for the switch. Then you sacrifice the ability to swap out joycons, which I religiously use the daemon ex machina joycons due to the semi decent dpad and larger size.

@Aaron09 Personally, I liked shovel knight the best. I believe they upped the price for people that didn't buy it when the switch released. Looking at deku deals it's on sale for $25 which it is usually $40 now. I would recommend Shovel knight as you get five different games in one package.

Dead Cells is a rougelite game that plays like an og castlevania. Hollow Knight is a metroidvainia through and through. I personally think that all of them are worth a pick up but I stopped around 50 hours through hollow knight cause I was tired of getting lost. However, Hollow knight has the best aesthetics out of all of them hands down. Shovel Knight is the best bang for your buck right now tho.

@Smashfan502 I'm actually more upset that there aren't more broken pokemon. I haven't played with items all that much since melee and brawl which I remember seeing scizzor and others that used to destroy others lol. Now a days the pokemon are more of a nuisance than an actual threat.

Re: Feature: Best Nintendo Switch Fighting Games

@Smashfan502 I play competitively, not as K Rool of course. However, items add an element of randomness to the game and can really assist people against more skilled players like myself. If there is a broken pokemon that takes a stock off of me when my friends and I are playing. That's okay. When I play for fun with my friends I tend to put my competitive mindset in the back of my head. Because If I beat them all of the time they wont want to play anymore

Re: Feature: Best Nintendo Switch Fighting Games

@Smashfan502 When I play competitive I obviously don't like items. My wife being a casual fan hates them too. However, there's a ton of work and fun in the items part of the game that I generally will play with them on when my friends come over.

I really can't wait for shovel knight dig either. I dig the original 8-bit look of shovel knight but I love the way that the more detailed sprites look on the character.
