Anything can happen when you're streaming a video game online. You could catch a moment of pure magic, or you could capture a proud competitor falling on hard times. Or, you could see the contents of a player's Switch screenshot gallery, and see if they've been playing 'mature' games like Dead or Alive Xtreme 3: Scarlet.
That's precisely what happened in this Super Smash Bros. Ultimate matchup; while the challengers were setting up, one of them clicked the gallery icon on the Switch UI and presented the crowd with some scantily-clad Tecmo ladies. Ahem.
While the images were arguably PG-13 stuff, it was still amusing – as was the reaction of the assembled crowd, who wanted to see more after that initial glimpse. Tut tut.

Oh kids, tsk tsk.
@PBandSmelly Have you ever heard of the anime community?

** Curb Your Enthusiasm theme starts playing **
All this fuss over that?
Gee... I better never take my switch to a tournament or I may break the audience...
that's the sound of some people that need to put video games down for a while.
do gamers not know adult entertainment is free on the internet?
@PBandSmelly have a free upvote 👍🏽
I guess all people need to like the same things you like, or you'll bash at them.
I don't see anything wrong here. And the response was really bigger than it needed to be.
I dont see the problem here. I have no place to judge what others do because i dont do the same.
@CharlieGirl Someone forgot their sense of humor at home.
Why did he open the gallery at all?
This Smash player isn't a good boy. Let's hope Sakurai will reprimand him.
All my screenshots are accidental.
**Pyra on a swimsuit flashbacks**
...I never save my pics/videos, I just delete them all after uploading them. xD
@CharlieGirl I think that is the sound of people mocking their friend/colleague over some embarrassing pictures that they accidentally showed to everyone.
They made a big deal out of it to embarrass the guy, not because they get overly excited seeing a video game girl in a bikini.
And here I thought something interesting happened, instead it was just a Switch pkayer playing a game that was released on the Switch. Totally worth an article.
Wow Nintendolife community..... you need some sense of humor.
(I don’t think it merits an article.... but it’s fun to see people mocking their friend)
Nothing quite like opening your Spank Bank on a live stream... It could have been WAY worse.
Never quite get the appeal of anime/game hot ladies when we live in an age of a plethora of easily accessible content showing real life men and women
@Menardi lmao. Thanks for the laugh of the day.
So embarrassing lmaoooo. Gamers
I have a fine bottom but it’s a little harder to access.
Part of me wants to laugh, as it seemed to be in good fun...
But another part of me cringes at the fact that that's technically an invasion of privacy. Unless that was his own Switch, I doubt he'd do the same with his own on stream.
On a related note, the stick drift of my joy con and pro controller actually causes me to unintentionally click on stuff that I hadn't intended to. Maybe that's what happened to the guy.
@Chunkboi79 @Kienda
What did they say? The comment is gone
I'm just wondering why he'd randomly hit home, go to the gallery, when setting up a Smash match?
Seems like this was intentional just to get a reaction and hits, and NL fell for it and obliged. Sad.
Can we have actual news please
Nothing wrong with this--no different than walking into a buddy's room and finding posters of the girls of Baywatch on his wall or your sister and having Brad Pitt photos cut out from magazines--situations that did happen when I was in college.
Ha ha ha, whoops.
@TechaNinja I don't remember word for word but it was something along the lines of, "sexually explicit material is available for free online, why are nerds getting excited over video game women."
@EVIL-C I think he wanted to check a pic he took during the match. Otherwise it makes no sense
@ss213 Hmm, perhaps. There's no setup context, so without that, this whole story is pointless and incoherent.
Well the game is right there on the home screen anyway. Props to him for having such awesomeness on display.
could be worse tbh, at least it wasn't any nude selfies
i'm the guy who started the applause lmao
for those wondering about why he went into the screenshots, this player, SnapBack, takes a lot of screenshots on switches here at Vandy and was trying to find some of his own. Our tournaments are also pretty closely nit, so nobody's really concerned about invasion of privacy (not even the guy who's switch this is, lul.) Our streams are usually pretty chill, y'all can find us if you want at ttv/vandysmash every friday afternoon.
@Chunkboi79 @TechaNinja the comment still appears for me. Not sure why it is hidden for others but something I’m noticing on NL recently.
Her comment was/is: “that's the sound of some people that need to put video games down for a while.
“do gamers not know adult entertainment is free on the internet“
Just thinking the last bit might be why it was hidden by NL?
@glaemay,
You win the internet!
