First thing is Pokemon have personality .. they have a show too that you get to know em more than just the game... storylines, etc. Not so much for those other examples he mentioned.

Second, fusion has been done at a high level in crypto games. Blockchain Cuties has a whole genome and structure on breeding different offspring. And very talented artist and design that created a system to fuse parts of each aspect to make new interesting offspring.

@PinderSchloss if you heard what the devs said after the last DLC they said they would of just done more DLC but the new mechanics they wanted to add needed a whole new game design so that is what this is really.
It isn't a real surprise unless you missed that.

@Mince Did you just play BotW yesterday and act like it is old hat?
I held Fallout 3 as the gold standard for open world before BotW and BotW obliterated that and created a totally immersive world.
The total freedom to solve puzzles and choose to play any way you wanted was groundbreaking.
You call it just an 8/10... Please list your 9's and 10's so they can be easily slammed way more than you can slam BotW

Shame these arent the Switch 2 yet.. can't really bother with buying a fancy 7 year old console.

The main bug of Raids is the actual design. Get rid of the bloated animation and also eliminate the ability to one shot the pokemon without it putting its shield up.

THEN that will force the devs to actually make it playable and get rid of the dumb 'hit three times before you can use your Terra' since you will die before you can hit enough times against the shield.

Which is why it is best to just get a group that buffs one player to one-shot the pokemon.

Good luck doing that with just one or two players and some bots

@AtlanteanMan what the heck do you do for anyone? Nintendo is a great company that has stuck to its vision for a very long time and only does games. Would you rather they just sell out to some bigger faceless company?

so the raid game design is a fail since the way to win is to have a team that buffs one player and he one shots the pokemon before they can put up their shield which means you never have to bother using your terra ability at all..

If you try to play the normal way, you won't be able to stay alive enough and then you have to hit 3 times before you can terra again which means you'll run out of time

the rest of the game is great but the raid battles have so many wrong things it just needs to be scrapped and redone

don't people know already to stop looking on the internet and just dive into a game instead?

Heroes deserves more respect since Fire Emblem is more than just the game mechanics and Heroes has a ton of personality and endless variants of the characters.
There is so much content that you can play for free and not run out of things to do

@johnedwin different circumstances. No one really cared to play old Wii U carts on Switch since the few games were ported over to the Switch proper.
Now there are a gazillion games people will want to play on the Switch 2 from the Switch 1 era.

@somnambulance Things change when you are topdog. Nintendo kept the 3DS line pretty much steady with powerups for a while since they were topdog there. When you arent top dog you do wacky things

@Dezzy70 it'll be impossible to not be backward compatible at this stage.. their best bet is to just soup up the internals with all the way better nVidia chips that are available today that fit in performance/price/heat/power.. figure out that sweet spot and fix the networking. Then add faster memory RAM and storage. Just give a big powerup to the Switch

@somnambulance Best to roll it out early then too late and people leave the ecosystem.
If people move on to something else before you offer something new, it can be harder to lure them back from their new shiny.
I skipped both PS4 & 5 and xboxes because the Switch was so good.. if the Switch gets to be a pain because too old and I move to something else, I might not bother to check back anytime soon.

hopefully this spring and hopefully you can still use the same pro controllers..
me and my gf would be buying on day one just like the first switch

would be fun if the whole tera raid gameplay was redone.. it is just so slow and glitchy and way too many blingly animations that just make it worse..

Also, the whole gimmick of tera mode is moot when the only real way to get these is to coordinate a one shot that skips the shield and needing of using tera at all.. since trying to use tera showcases how clunky and terrible the design is and also is way harder to do any damage against shields

how about a good simple adapter for the 3DS so my old eyes can play on a bigger top screen?

Maybe the Switch 2 can have a 3DS slot and then you use it like a Wii U with the switch as the touch screen lower and your TV as the top?
