2D Mario Games will always have a special heart in my heart, after spending hours with Super Mario Bros - World in my childhood.
I had a blast playing through Super Mario Bros WiU Deluxe with my girlfriend on Switch (This and 3D World are much much better with 2 or more players), and look forward to new entries.
No switch this weekend except maybe for the odd Hades run. Switching between Mass Effect: LE & AC:Valhalla DLC on Series X. While I also have my New Game+ Ghost of Tsushima run pending halfway through.
I think it was a controller that packed some great ideas but wasn't quite clear on how to execute. The Analog stick was revolutionary, and the Z trigger was a very useful addition. Both of them I think quite evolved and now you couldn't imagine modern gaming without the sticks and triggers. However the first implementation was confusing, the stick would not last long, and overall the shape was far from optimal. This was greatly optimized in later console generations.
@TheWingedAvenger Owning a Series X, PS5 and Switch I respectfully disagree dude. Some Switch games are great but some experienced in consoles are only possible in consoles with their power. Yeah Switch got The Witcher 3 and DOOM Eternal, but they don’t compare to the full sized versions.
What do they mean by “uncompressed”. It is my understanding (maybe completely wrong) that all the tunes from the cartridge were like MIDI - played from the console’s synth - not compressed like we currently see lossy music. So I would just assume this is just played through a higher quality machine
@AugustusOxy While I enjoyed it on Switch, I would really have loved to see how the game a sequel could have looked on a PS5 or XSX, as I own all 3 systems. Definitely there was area for improvement both performance and graphic wise.
The standard charcoal was the most beautiful device I had owned until then. I would stare at it in awe, and turning it on and seeing Mario 64 live - pure magic!
@Marios-love-child except after the initial rush. PS5 will be widely available, so only people who are desperate will pay to scalpers while reasonable people can wait to get it.
With Mario, anyone interested with this game or switch after March 31st will have no option other to buy from scalpers or pirate it.
I am actually very interested on it, having liked AC Odyssey and of course BOTW. Might get it for Xbox tough (currently on Xbox One x but hoping to upgrade to series x). However, if it features cross-save, I might getting on switch first and wait a couple of months and get it on Xbox during an eventual sale (it is more likely to go on sale sooner On that platform)
Seems heavily influenced by AC Odyssey and BOTW (shocker). I loved both games so have no issue with that. Hope it is good, I for one I’m excited for it, but probably will get it for Xbox. Hopefully will have my new shiny series x by then
@Jokerwolf CPU should be a very meaningful upgrades over One X, agreed. However, I already got the One X and do game on 4K TV so Series X is the natural upgrade path for me. Not sure if I’ll pull the trigger this year or hold up the upgrade until next
@Jokerwolf I think I'll most likely go to for the Series X by the end of this year / early next one...........hope we get to know the pricing and full feature list of both models soon...they're supposed to be released in a couple of months but still nothing.....playing chicken with Sony!
@Eel Where are you located, same in mine! I am hoping pricing will go down before release (and with amazon pre-order guarantee you get the lower price)
Hope something compelling enough to pick up my Switch again comes. It’s been collecting dust for a while. Literally yesterday I got a new TV as the older one bit it, and while arranging stuff I put the Switch dock away....at this point it was just taking one HDMI port and helping entangle cables....hope to get a good excuse to put it back.
Yeah. After playing it one Xbox one X, if they get it running decently on Switch it will be nothing short of a miracle. Maybe it was too ambitious of a port and they just can’t get it right without a significant rework.
@Agramonte lol now you made me think. Definitely drawer is better for preservation. I never leave it on the dock knowingly thinking I won’t use it for a long time. It just happens
I really wanted to give it a try but after looking quite a few videos, I think I’ll pass. I don’t like those battle system puzzles the way they seem to be in this game
@RiasGremory hope they do have a few surprises. My switch’s been gathering dust since I finished the Witcher 3 other than a replay of Odyssey and DOOM 64.
@TheDanslator great games continue coming for other consoles despite the Global Pandemic. DOOM Eternal, Ghost of Tsushima, last of us part 2, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, Resident evil 3, with more like Halo Infinite, AC Valhalla , Avengers and Cyberpunk 2077 still coming. Most companies have suffered delays for a few months but have been able to still try to push releases. I think Nintendo probably had nothing to begin with.
@TheFullAndy what about you buying the games you want, and using Gamepass to play the exclusives or discover new games. Jeez it’s just an option, is not like you are forbidden from buying games.
Some people it’s like they just don’t like having options. And I’m sure Xbox and Microsoft Will be just fine next gen
@PlayedNSlayed I was expecting it too. But after completed the campaign several times on Xbox One x I cancelled my preorder. For now I’m done with the game, might come back later but not in the mood of going through it again.
@spirit_flame agree with you completely on the free to play games. That’s why I haven’t loaded a game in my iPhone in ages. However, DOOM 2016, New Colossus and the legacy DOOM games (DOOM 64 in particular is a good one if you are tired of the classics that are available in every device) are much more fun that Crysis ever was. I remember it being a technological showcase, but not really fun.
The Bioshock games are also great but not your regular shooters (Infinite is closer to that)
@InAnotherCastle gameplay definitely has changed. More focused on resource ammo balanced and ensuring you use your full Arsenal VS just sticking with super shotgun. Some new mechanics. Only thing I’m not too crazy on was the platforming
@spirit_flame there are much better first person shooters than Crysis gameplay-wise already available for switch. If those didn’t catch your eye, I doubt this one will.
@robr having playing both Rage 2 and DOOM Eternal on my Xbox One X, I strongly disagree, I got bored very quickly with Rage 2. DOOM Eternal kept my hooked til the end
@MisterMan I could ´play it on Gamepass but this kind of game I would enjoy more on my Switch, so I was holding up playing it hoping Switch version would get better. Apparently that won't be the case.
Jedi:Fallen Order is the only EA game worth a damn from recent years. Actually I really enjoyed it and would double dip on it just to show support on those single player games and switch port
They’ll continue milking this. There are strong rumors that a Kombat pack 2 is incoming and they might continue supporting this game longer than previous. Only when they are done may a true “komplete edition” be released for all consoles.

Re: Xbox Thought Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 2, Bayonetta 3, And Metroid Prime 4 Would Come Out In 2020
@a1904 yeah. Because BOTW2, MP4 and Bayonetta 3 are all being released for Xbox, right?
Re: Global Sales Data Suggests Balan Wonderworld Has Massively Flopped
@Madder128 The game's quality and price tag killed itself - the press only commented on what they saw.

Not much for me. Hope there are big reveals for the 2nd half of the year

Immortals on sale again? Shocking!

Re: Astral Chain Is Now Fully Owned By Nintendo, Says PlatinumGames
@ozwally why would you be “worried”? What negative effects would it have for you if other people have access to the game in a different platform?

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (January 9th)
Got a PS5 to go along my Series x and Switch. No going through Ghost of Tsushima. Beautiful game, and combat is awesome. Exploration is also great.
Re: Review: Immortals Fenyx Rising - An Off-Brand Breath Of The Wild That's Still Worth A Look
I am really enjoying Valhalla on my Series X, but I think I will hold off this one until it is heavily discounted (probably a couple of months tops).
Doesn't look as compelling.
Re: Buy DOOM Eternal Early On Switch And You'll Get DOOM 64 And 'Rip And Tear' Pack Free
Too little too late.........played it to death on my Xbox One X, and now running through the DLC on my Series X.
Great game, but unfortunately took too long to get to switch. Looks like a very competent port tough.
Re: Anniversary: The F-Zero Series Is Now 30 Years Old
And the franchise has been dead for over half of that time. Shame

Re: Poll: Super Mario 3D All-Stars Is One Week Away - Which Game Will You Play First?
I took a break from gaming from 1999 to 2015, so I need to catch up with Sunshine and Galaxy in that order, with good old Mario 64 breaks in between

@Agramonte common drawer is harsh, but it can stay perfectly well sitting in its dock. Apparently that’s where it will be most of the year 😔
Re: Video: 12 Exciting New Games Coming To Nintendo Switch In August
Nothing i find remotely exciting but it is what it is
