Re: Random: Bowsette Has Been Recreated By Fans In The New SoulCalibur Game

BowtieShyGuy

@KoopaSlayer92 Yeah, but the wring name has already been coined by fans, and everything and everyone is calling her like that. If someone called her Peachser, Powser or Peachowser it wouldn't be as recognisable as the #-tag from twitter, so everyone just sticks with it.
It's not the first time in history that the masses stick to something that is frequently used even, though there are better options out there, so it's no surprise the character keeps the "Bowsette" name, especially since it's not an official character.

Re: Monolith Soft Director Would "Love" Xenoblade Chronicles X On Switch, Money Stands In The Way

BowtieShyGuy

I wish they'd finally decide wheter to port it or not.

I have the Limited edition lying around, but didn't get to play it yet. I don't wanna start playing XCX and have another Hyrule Warriors situation where hundreds of hours of playtime gotta be revised because they decided to release a complete edition ^^,

Guess I'll be playing TMS #FE then. Haven't completed that either and I doubt this one's getting a port soon.

Re: Random: Super Mario Party Shows That Nintendo Still Can't Decide Birdo's Gender

BowtieShyGuy

@jhewitt3476 Well, it's back from the day when manuals were an important part of the lore, e.g. all the backstory of Zelda, Zelda II or even SMB(1).

Also, Nintendo never forced any sexuality into this. Translators are just "confused" what pronoun they should use to adress her/him/it according to lore.

Although... Birdo does have a confusing gender identity when you think about the "behind-the-scenes" stuff. She was pictured as a love interest for Yoshi in the last decade, a male-looking dinosaur that lays eggs (that could be both genders) having a love interest in a pink dinosaur that is considered male in some territories and shoots eggs from its mouth. It does raise the question how they'd reproduce.

@darkswabber Amaterasu is technically a goddess, so I don't know why a dragon should be treated differently.

I could understand the level of anthropromorphisation being important though, e.g. Sonic and Star Fox not counting as animal characters because they move and act like humans.

Re: Feature: The Nintendo Switch Games That Could Work In VR

BowtieShyGuy

@Anti-Matter Oh boy, never start watching Sword Art Online... I mean... some characters explode into pixels and then they are dead!

Oh... and if you ever watched Yu-Gi-Oh!... the Shadow realm actually doesn't exist, 4Kids just changed it for games were the bet involved people dying.

...good Night!

Re: Video: Super Mario Run Makes A Big Cameo In Apple iPhone XS Commercial

BowtieShyGuy

@zool So basically what you're saying is you're only playing Mario and Zelda games, and games like a new Star Fox, F-Zero or Kid Icarus has no value to you? Also, the west never got FE4, so it would count as a new game too. And FE is currently as big of a brand as Mario and Zelda.
Oh, and I forgot a new Paper Mario. Preferably one that returns to the style pf TTYD.

Also, you are trying to say Nintendo should release a Mario and a Zelda annualy because you're impatient and demand it?

Nintendo wants to sell other games too, and Thirds also complain that on Nintendo consoles players only buy Zelda and Mario. So there's enough reasons why Nintendo wants to spread their releases instead of rushing games.

Try the waiting game, man. When you really got "nothing to play" in the meantime, you can try replaying old ones. There's 30 years of Mario and Zelda games out there. If you haven't 100%ed all of them yet, there could be some you wanna play again.
If not, you could try to widen your horizon and play some of the games you deem "irrelevant". There's like a 1000 Switch games out there that released in less than two years. You can't tell me there's nothing that can keep you occupied.

Coincidentally, NintendoLife just made an articel about this: https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2018/09/soapbox_why_do_we_want_more_games_when_weve_already_got_too_many

Re: Video: Super Mario Run Makes A Big Cameo In Apple iPhone XS Commercial

BowtieShyGuy

@zool Well, that's not how it works. Nintendo has the luxury to take as long as they need to make a good game, and a good game takes time. Just look back at the time when Sonic released a new 3D-jump'n'Run EVERY year from 2002 to 2014 until they realized with Sonic Boom that they had to stop.

Also, having reasonable breaks between games creates demand. If you release a new game every year "because you don't have to buy them" then people won't buy them. Even if still enough people buy it, it will result in lower sales, which results in people selling their stocks and bad publicity.

Mobile Games also offer many advantages. I think some are actually good (enjoyed Super Mario Run except for the grind and I think FEH is great), they strengthen the brand recognition and also, investors seem to more likely invest in companies that do mobile stuff, because they see more potential there as in the console market, which is said to be dead with the next generation by analysts (which I personally don't agree with).

Adding to that: We still have Nintendo Franchises left: Star Fox (I'd die for a re-release of Zero with GOOD controls), F-Zero, a real Switch Zelda (BotW was a Wii U port), Dr. Mario, an obligatory third edition for Pokémon 2019, more Pokémon spin-offs, a FE4 remake, Art Academy, WarioWare, more Labo-Stuff, a new Donkey Kong Country, Ports of games like Xenoblade X and Mario Maker, Pikmin 4, a Kid Icarus (either a sequel of the jump'n'runs or the third person shooter), and maybe a new Sin&Punishment, a new Punch-Out and Mario Kart 9 close to the end of the Switch life cycle.
Also, there was no new NSMB title in there as of yet either.

Re: Video: Super Mario Run Makes A Big Cameo In Apple iPhone XS Commercial

BowtieShyGuy

@zool People are already criticising Nintendo for releasing the same game over and over. Which is unfair imo, almost every Mario-Plattformer feels unique in some way (except for the lazier NSMB titles, maybe) and is no comparison to Ubisoft with AC or EA with their sports series.

But still, a new Mario every two years would be too much. People would tire out at some point and Mario could face the same fade as Sonic the Hedgehog...

Re: Super Mario Odyssey Art Book Reveals "Official Bowsette" Concept Existed Long Before The Fan-Made One

BowtieShyGuy

Now I wonder if they are thinking about a Super Mario Odyssey 2 that - like Super Mario Galaxy 2 - uses unused concepts.

If they wanted to cash in on the Bowsette craze, they could use "Bowsette" as either a final villain, or - to use her in trailers and not to spoil anything - make her the main antagonist.
Going with old Super Mario Lore, Bowser captured Peach because of her magic capabilities. Maybe after she denied the marriage and thus couldn't be brought to assist him willingly, he know usses a new cap-ally to merge their powers in a different way he didn't think of before Mario kicked his ass.

The Koopa-Kap has to go though. It doesn't really make sense for Bowser to use a plumber's cap. A spiked cylinder or a crown would be more fitting.

Re: Super Mario Odyssey Art Book Reveals "Official Bowsette" Concept Existed Long Before The Fan-Made One

BowtieShyGuy

@Iacobus And Bowsette from the Otaku-Fanbase is just Bowser with the supercrown/Peachette Power-Up, so what's your point? It's still a Bowser-Peach Fusion, the only difference being that Bowsette and Peach could exist in the same room.

@ottospooky Or it would have been worse. Also: This book is gonna sell WAY more copies now.

@Angelic_Lapras_King There's actually way more versions out there. Long before Bowsette was a thing, there was "Peach Bowser" Fan-Art, Doujinshis and Cosplay (which is very similiar to Bowsette's design, thte only difference is it's still has Peach's personality, not Bowser) and also a lot of "Lady Bowser" Fanart, which is a female Bowser, either in beast or human form.

Re: Guide: The Best Pokémon Games - Every Mainline Pokémon Game Ranked

BowtieShyGuy

@StephanDLW @Aloy I think they ranked it a lot around what these games added to the series or rather what unique features they still have after 20 years. That's the only way I can explain why Crystal ranked a bit lower than G/S and HG/SS but Platinum did way better. Crystal lost a lot of it's unique features to HG/SS.

And let's be honest: Other than Wifi and a graphic update D and P didn't offer much unique traits. B/W had seasonal cycles and added roatation battles and tripple battles while also being the first game with fully animated monsters, and with its sequel they are the only games with fully animated sprites.
Personally, I also like the idea of not encountering old Pokémon until you cleared the game and N's castle as the finale.

But after all: NLife stated that none of these are bad games, they are all good, but they wanted to place it on a list. So since these are probably all differ only by the matter of comma.decimals in terms of points, personal preference certainly does a lot to shift these games around.

Re: Super Mario Odyssey Adds Conductor Wig And Outfit

BowtieShyGuy

@KingdomHeartsFan That's what the /s meant, yes.

This won't stop anyone from making a new Mario Game.
This is more like a job you give to artists you'd have to lay-off otherwise because they aren't needed until the next game finished pre-production.
Especially considering a new outfit like this would take 1-2 artists maybe one or two weeks to finish.
