Nintendo's costume releases in Super Mario Odyssey continue. A Conductor Wig and Conductor Outfit can now be purchased from any shop in the game once you've completed the main story. The Conductor Wig will set you back 500 coins, while the Conductor Outfit will cost 1,000 coins. Here's the official reveal from Nintendo below:
This free costume for Super Mario Odyssey follows on from an update at the end of last month, when Nintendo added the final Broodal costume - a Spewart Hat and Spewart Suit.
Are you still playing Super Mario Odyssey? Have you been purchasing the new outfits? Would you like more added? Tell us below.

A new costume for Super Mario Odyssey? Why, I must conduct further research into this!
LOL
Add with Marie Antoinette dress please.
What's Mozart been doing lately?
Decomposing.
Huh, no flood of comments about people bragging about how they stopped playing this game ages ago and crapping on the free dlc? This post may survive the night.
@patbacknitro18 Either Bowsette has something to do with that, or the silence is a (rightfully earned) bad sign.
I was looking for my classical music CD last night.
I couldn't find it, it was Haydn.
Why did the pirate buy a 3 tenors album?
He loves high C's.
There are so many classical music jokes I could write a Liszt.
^ In a much better timeline of Earth, this is how most comments ever would read.
Haven’t touched this game since January. Costumes are no incentive to do so.
@KingBowser86 Too late, ^ they're starting
Does Nintendo's creativity have no limits?
Good God, this may be the single greatest contribution to art since Liza Minnelli's one woman show about a coal miner's daughter in Nepal who dreams of being a charter boat navigator in New York's east river, as penned by WHAT THE HELL NINTENDO?
F-ZERO or METROID US ALREADY
Dang, I was hoping for the Zombie Outfit but this is cool too.
Only 3 more costumes left, I believe.
@patbacknitro18 It's understandable. Pointless, but understandable.
@MarioBrax That will probably come next month for Halloween
@Anti-Matter you mean Mario Antoinette?
@ShadJV
Hahahaha.....
Yes.
Just imagine Mario with White Wig, Big boobs, Fake booty, Princess dress, a fan, White powder on his face with Red lipstick on his lip.
@MarioBrax With 1 outfit coming out about every month, it would seem like we're going to get that next month lol
So it would seem like October is when we'll get the Zombie outfit, November we should be getting the 8-bit mario outfit, and December is when we get the Santa outfit. After that, the DLC for this game may end. If we was going to get new worlds and such for this game, they should have been announced already. Seeing as how Mario and Rabbid, Breath of the Wild, Splatoon 2, and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 have all had big game expansions announced within the first year they were out. So its fair to say that Mario Odyssey may just be out of luck
Ugly and stupid...
why? it is free i know but ...the costumes have no purpose in SMO besides opening some doors (which already can be opened by other costumes), so what's the point?
@patbacknitro18 I reckon DLC will be announced and released during the last Direct of the year.
@KingdomHeartsFan thing is that these were all fully datamined ages ago, it’s all already in the game, probably with a pre-programmed unlock delay. Worst case, once a month a couple of interns flick a worldwide signal and write a few regional tweets.
No real time is being spent on this game by Nintendo now, this is just a monthly spike to the collective consciousness that Odyssey exists, a reminder for those who’ve not bought it yet.
At current rate it’ll run until Christmas, a couple of weeks before New SMB U DX lands...
@OorWullie as awesome as that would be, I’m convinced they’re just milking Odyssey until New SMB arrives and focus will shift there for the next year.
@KingdomHeartsFan well once a month someone like me boots the game and mines Luigi’s Balloon World for an hour or so. That mini-game would surely have died out months ago without this regular motivation, it lives entirely on the community of players feeding it. This way it casually appears healthy.
Still playing, still enjoying. Like other Mario games, I blast the core game non-stop, and then dip back into the mop-up to get 100%. Brilliant game. Bring on Mario Odyssey 2!

Super Mario Odyssey is literally the 1 single Mario game that I don't feel like returning to at all after doing 100% last year.
It's just so shallow in its content and I wish they'd add some actual new stuff to it instead of just these lame costumes.
Haven't touched this game since, erm last year I think, and just some different costumes are not going to tempt me back.
Why release costumes to get people back in? I haven played this game since last year I think.
Adding new kingdoms feel like such an obvious thing.. strange it hasn't happened yet.
I wonder if they're working on a sequel instead.
@KingdomHeartsFan Yeah, I'm pretty sure the next Mario game was completely put on hold because they made a wig for the old one. /s
@KingdomHeartsFan That's what the /s meant, yes.
This won't stop anyone from making a new Mario Game.
This is more like a job you give to artists you'd have to lay-off otherwise because they aren't needed until the next game finished pre-production.
Especially considering a new outfit like this would take 1-2 artists maybe one or two weeks to finish.
Meh... just give me part 2 with a whole new set of worlds. I tried to even care to get the rest of the power moons and had a yawning desire... THAT'S how over the game I subconsciously am.
@KingdomHeartsFan Ah yeah, now I got the news, now they also stopped Metroid Prime 4 because they needed 300 artists to make the last two costumes.
@gaga64 At the current rate for Hint Art (1 every 2 weeks), I see the 1.2.0 content finishing on November 22nd rather than December (could be wrong but I don't see there being a 4 week gap with nothing but 1 outfit).
@OorWullie I could see Nintendo possibly doing a Champions Ballad situation and releasing Odyssey DLC straight after The Game Awards.
we need a new way of getting coins for unlocking all of these customs. hopefully they will add more game play content other than just costumes. maybe a two player mode where player two is not cappy....
Is this based on the conductor from the Rabbids game? The one I haven't been able to beat and has kept me from finishing that game ?
@Grumblevolcano good point, I hadn’t thought of that
These are fine and all, but I would love actual DLC kingdoms/moons though. I'm surprised that hasn't happened with a game as successful as Odyssey.
Maybe it's a Galaxy/Galaxy 2 situation. IIRC, Galaxy 2 was originally planned as an "expansion"/DLC for Galaxy 1 but Nintendo said they had so much content and new ideas that it evolved into a standalone sequel.
@justin233 Same. I will replay this once they stop adding more content so I can do another 100% playthrough. Should be interesting, if not a bit more time consuming. I sure hope Luigi's Balloon World makes it easier to grind for coins, cos replaying that same area in Bowser's Castle got tiresome after a while...
Sweet! New costume!
