Re: Game Originally Planned For Wii U, Then Switch, Winds Up As A PS5 Timed-Exclusive

@brandonbwii I get your point but I would hope people do not judge the average person in the street based on some movie/game characters they’ve seen of the same race/nationality/whatever, that would be dumb. However, some stereotypes exist due to real world cultures (e.g. witch doctors still exist in Africa, that doesn’t mean people will assume a black person in Germany is of African heritage and therefore a witch doctor because of a video game character). Grouping races like that makes me think the person complaining was more racist than the makers of the game.

@brandonbwii you could argue it’s lazy, yes. The creator has said that it wasn’t their intention. Are you offended by stereotypes of French people riding bicycles carrying cheese and wine? A lot of these game “stereotypes” are there to celebrate different cultures in a fun way, but some people will always see the negative. I’m not offended that the majority of villains in Hollywood movies seem to be British 😂

@Kalmaro Can’t you see how much better your life would be if you could be offended by anything and everything, regardless of intent?

God forbid black villains have dreadlocks, they should have pink hair and 3 arms to ensure they don’t represent real people. Soon villains in games will not be anything other than white males in case someone is offended on someone else’s behalf, imagine how tedious that would be.

I personally love having portable ports of classic games I never got to play on other consoles. I have a huge SD card to take them all away with me and usually get games on sale - I’ve never had so much choice. I understand they’ll cost more because of the costs of porting and marketing the games. Obviously it’s not a simple procedure as it often takes months/close to a year.
