Following the PEGI rating we reported on a while back, EnjoyUp Games has confirmed that it will be publishing UFO Crash Games' FullBlast on the Wii U eShop.
A vertically-scrolling shooter with 3D visuals and a heavy metal soundtrack, FullBlast calls to mind the likes of Raiden, Battle Garegga and DoDonPachi. It offers simultaneous two-player support, in-game achievements and online leaderboards. It's also coming to Android, Ouya and iOS.
You can feast your eyes on the game below. Let us know if this forthcoming blaster has your trigger finger itching in anticipation.

I'm a big fan of the genre and I have been starving for years. I will keep an eye out for NL review before committing.
1942 clone. of course I'm interested!
I will get it I think.
A vertically-scrolling shmup?
If it has crazy bullet patterns, of course I'll get it!
If it doesn't, I'll still get it!
See how simple my decision-making process is?
I'm liking how colorful the graphics are and I'm always interested in vertical shooters. Will keep an eye out for this one
Really cannot wait for this , am a big shmup fan ...have all japanese xbox shmups and dreamcast ones and loads more ... am buzzing for this
Insta-day-one-purchase by the looks of it
Fantasy Zone 2 and Karous on 3DS and this on WiiU. Finally shmups are back
Sold.
Looks great but music is terrible. But music doesn't make or break a game so I'm sold.
EnjoyUP is a developer I am watching - Spy Chameleon is totally fantastic
I have this on Android,it came out about 6 months ago, there is a demo version too. It's alright, nothing special but it should be better with proper controls.Personally I'd love to see Skyforce HD come to the Eshop, much better shoot em up.
Is already on the iOS.
i love games like this, but this doesn't see like its going to be anything special. I know I will probably still be getting this.
It's a mobile port, nothing special. Design is generic, backgrounds tend to get in the way of spotting threats from what is visible on screenshots. I think I'll stick to classics in terms of this genre.
Enjoy Up seems to be upping their games as of late. This looks like a quality title and Spy Chameleon was excellent.
I really like the arcade cabinet art on the sides of the screen. I wish we could get some actual 80's 90's arcade ports on Wii U.
hmmmm Looks good! will put it on my wish list
I like the enemy variety, looks pretty decent. I wouldn't mind seeing some classic Wii shooters from UFO in the eShop as well; especially ones that never made it to Europe like Castle of Shikigami III!
I'll be getting this
Looks solid. Like CTs_Lieutenant, though, I think the music is just terrible. I've heard starter garage bands with better riffs. Hopefully, you can disable the music.
@outburst I remember taking a photo of my high score on 1942 and submitting it to Nintendo Power. Good memories
sigh
"A vertically-scrolling shooter with 3D visuals and a heavy metal soundtrack, FullBlast calls to mind the likes of Raiden, Battle Garegga and DoDonPachi."
Really? None of those games has 3D visuals and from the trailer this game looks nothing like either of those three games. It reminds me more of Nanostray for example.
Whenever a shmup appears, people will compare it to just ANY other game of the same genre. Why is that? People would never compare a 2D platformer to Mario, Sonic and Bonk at the same time, but here we are, comparing a badly-looking shmup to Raiden, Battle Garegga and DoDonPachi. Also neither of these three games is even comparable to any of the other two, let alone to this "Fullblast" thing.
Nice, may check this out someday.
Heavy metal soundtrack? Aaaaaaand nope. Dammit, I was initially jazzed for this.
Not feeling this one a bit much.....
yes please
The nostalgia for games like 1943, Lifeforce & Blazing Lazers is strong now. If it's cheap enough I may get it.
I want it right now.
Good stuff, especially with the heavy metal soundtrack. Though that is really a vague music definition as country.
I've been wanting some shmups on the WiiU since it was released, unfortunately this is also being made for Phones so the gameplay will be lacking to fit those formats.
Being that the wii u vc is seriously missing a pile of shooters like 1942, UN Squadron, 1943, side arms etc etc, I guess this is better than no old school shooters at all. A little concerned if it's a mobile port so hopefully they will adjust the controls accordingly and price it fair. Trailer looks pretty cool but
Still would rather have the original classic games!
After playing the free version on Android, I'm looking forward to this title. Seems like good quality.
All the games people compare this to and nobody ever says Xevious. Played it on my 7" tablet and it is Xevious. Much beyyer graphics but its Xevious thru and thru.
Ya I think I'll get this. There's not much out there schmup-wise. What was that schmup that released on 3DS a few years ago by some remnant of the team who did Ikaruga... Was that Kokuga? Maybe I'll go grab Kokuga and check that out.
Looks really cool but I can't help feel the control of the ship looks jerky and imprecise. It sort of 'hops' around rather than scrolling smoothly which a game like this needs.
AM i the only one who wishes he could turn his HD TV on it's side and play one of these shooters how they're meant to be played?
I mean.. actually a TV that could easily rotate to it's side and lock in place would be a GREAT idea for specific types of games.
Awesome, but why put such big borders on the sides and not just expand the game more?
@RIDE88 the 360 just came out (jap region only) with a collection of the old Gamecube SHMUPS. Actually probably arcade ports, but they were all in GC. Oh, not Ikaruga but the Radirgy etc.
For the game above, I'm getting it.
Strikers 2 is my fav arcade shooter game ~
Insta buy right here ~
@bofis - it's called TATE mode. Google it.
