Mostly Shock Troopers as part of the weekly Caravan Challenge.
I also picked up Pac-Man CE2, Magical Drop III, and Samurai Aces. I've been playing Pac-Man the most, although all three are great. Pac-Man is a lot of fun and the graphics are fantastic and it looks great on a big TV screen.
I just bought this before logging on to Nintendo Life here. It'll make a nice change from playing shmups all the time and I haven't played a Pac Man game in about 25 years!
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Are they all that bad? That's a shame....I have my fingers crossed for Pool Nation coming to the Switch (although it's highly unlikely).
@BennyBlanco windjammers is amazing, one of the best games ever. It also has an active community of French players, not sure why it’s specific to the French, but there you go.
@OorWullie It looks more modern and updated than the arcade / Dreamcast version. Some purists won't like this and would expect a direct port. I have to admit that I'm one of those people! I have fond memories of Zero Gunner 2 and would really have liked a direct port, with the original graphics as I think they help retain the original feel. It looks like that will never happen.
I'm going to keep my eyes peeled on some other gaming forums and wait to see if they fix the bugs so the gameplay will be somewhat like the original.
Yes I’d buy a Gameboy mini for sure. One thing I really regret is getting rid of my Gameboy and all the games I had. Although, for some reason, I held on to Donkey Kong but I have nothing to play it on.
I’m cynical and find these stories are nothing more than a yarn spun between two Redittors and then posted a week or two apart for karma and Reddit gold, or maybe the hope of a free Switch.
This is amazing news! There are so many great Data East games I'd like to see on Switch, if the released a load of them on one cartridge that would be amazing!
I'd definitely like to see the underrated Boogie Wings. It's a great shooter but didn't do well when it first came out, probably because it put a different spin on the genre.
I would also like to see:
** Bad Dudes vs Dragon Ninja
** Tumblepop
**Windjammers
**Crude Buster
Sounds great, the Switch is definitely one of the best retro gaming machines. I know it may not suit a lot of younger players but, for guys my age (late 30s), it's great being able to play all of these titles on a handheld machine and on a big screen if I want to.
I’m going to get this for the sake of nostalgia. When I got my Amiga 1200 for Christmas 1992 Putty was one of the first games I played on it. If only Zool came out on the Switch, complete with the anti-piracy code wheel, that would be amazing!
@Shiryu Thanks for the tip, I'll check it out later when I get home. I like the old school music and sounds in the game, they are a nice touch and made me think of a modern day Pinball Dreams on the Amiga.
@OorWullie Thanks mate. FX3 looks really cool, but I will try Stern as per your comment as see which one I like best.
I got Doom today and it looks incredible. I find the controls exceptionally difficult to get used to though. I’m not sure if I can preserve with it to be truthful.
I pre-ordered on Amazon and I got 1.5 Amazon reward points and the game is only costing me £17.99, which is good. If it's no good I will just take it to Game and trade it in along with some others.
@kepsux Yeah i wish they would release more demos, especially when the games are expensive. I know you can bring them back or return them, but demos would do away with having to go to the Post Office all the time with games you don't like.
@GrailUK Seeing Cave games on Switch would be amazing!!
Aero Fighters 2 is a really good shmup, one of the best ACA shmup releases. This is probably my second favourite shmup on the Switch, my favourite is Strikers 1945. I'm just waiting for Gunbird or Gunbird 2.

Re: HAMSTER Acquires Rights To Complete Video System Catalogue
Switch has to be the best handheld system for retro classics ever.

Re: HAMSTER Drops Next Batch Of ACA Neo Geo Titles (And The Mic)
Gonna have to pick up Ghost Pilots and Aero Fighters III for sure. Can't wait for these two.
Re: Wild Guns Reloaded To Shoot Its Way Onto Nintendo Switch This April
A bit expensive for what is essentially a beefed up Blood Bros clone. I'll just stick with BB on MAME.
Re: You Can Now Pre-Order An EU Retail Copy Of Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection
I'll be getting the physical version from Amazon, can't wait!
Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend?
Mostly Shock Troopers as part of the weekly Caravan Challenge.
I also picked up Pac-Man CE2, Magical Drop III, and Samurai Aces. I've been playing Pac-Man the most, although all three are great. Pac-Man is a lot of fun and the graphics are fantastic and it looks great on a big TV screen.

Re: Feature: Tagging In With SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy Producer Yasuyuki Oda & Director Kaito Soranaka
I'm looking forward to this app be, I like the idea of a simplified fighting game.

@OorWullie Once again, great idea, thanks for organising this mate!
Re: Capcom Sees 36.9% Operating Income Surge, Ultra Street Fighter II On Switch A "Smash Hit"
@WomboCombo do you think the Switch could run SFV?
Re: Review: Power Spikes II (Neo Geo)
@OorWullie that is a cool bit of history. Hopefully there is a small chance of Dotemu releasing Windjammers on Switch.
Re: Review: Power Spikes II (Neo Geo)
@BennyBlanco windjammers is amazing, one of the best games ever. It also has an active community of French players, not sure why it’s specific to the French, but there you go.
Re: Review: Zero Gunner 2 (Switch eShop)
I’m not sure about getting this at all, reading about the bugs puts me off, plus the fact it’s been re-written. I will wait and see.

@GrailUK I know!
Re: Irem's Kid Niki Returns Next Week Thanks to Hamster ACA
@OorWullie Zero Gunner 2 is meant to be completely horrible. It's not a port, but a rewrite called Zero Gunner 2-. There are loads of bugs in the gameplay.

A bit of a weak week! I'm saving my money for Strikers 1945 II and Zero Gunner 2 next week.
Re: Nintendo Is Announcing "A New Way To Play" Later Today
I think VC.
Re: Alas, The World's Best Smash Bros. For Wii U Player Is Retiring
Can anyone tell me about why the Smash community is “toxic”? I don’t follow it at all and am wondering if it’s any worse than any other community?
Re: Review: King Of The Monsters (Switch eShop / Neo Geo)
I played this game on MAME, just to see if I'd like it, and I found it extremely difficult.
Re: Video: Retro Emulation Finally Comes To Switch Following Homebrew Hacking Efforts
Looks cool but I wouldn't want to void my warranty for this, plus there are so many emulators out there. Still, it's great to see.

Re: It Looks Like The Windjammers-Style Sports Game Disc Jam Is Coming To Switch
Windjammers in the Switch would be cool, but this looks very promising. There is a big French Windjammers community out there.
Re: Review: Gunbird (Switch eShop)
I love this game, one of my favourite shmups ever. Bring on Gunbird 2!!

Re: Zen Studios Admits Pinball FX3 "Looks Terrible" On Switch, Is Working On A Fix
@Shiryu what do you think of Stern Pinball? It’s in my Amazon basket, but I haven’t checked out yet....
Re: Pulstar Is Your Next Neo Geo ACA Release On Switch
@OorWullie Cheers mate. I'm looking forward to R-Type and Pulstar! I'll probably pick up Double Dragon as well.
Re: Pulstar Is Your Next Neo Geo ACA Release On Switch
@OorWullie what’s in the next batch of ACA releases?
Re: Random: Mother Orders Nintendo Switch From Amazon, Gets Box Of Washing Powder Instead
I don't believe this. For a start the story was in The Mirror, which is a less than reliable news source.
Just imagine if her son wanted a Switch, she couldn't get one, so she made up this story in the hopes that some kind soul would donate one.
Re: '90s Shmup Classic Gunbird Will Be Blasting Things To Pieces On Switch This Week
Definitely going to be getting this - I can't wait!
Re: Review: Rocket League (Switch eShop)
Is there going to be a physical release of this?

Physical for sure.
Re: Nintendo's Updated Switch and 3DS Infographic Shows Off Winter Line-Up
I'm gonna get Rocket League, Doom, Meatboy, and Wolfenstein.
Re: Mutation Nation Is Your Next HAMSTER ACA Release on Switch
The good thing about these ACA releases is that you can try them out on MAME before you make the purchase.
Re: Nintendo Download: 12th October (Europe)
Still no new Psikyo games!? Come on ZeroDiv!

I heard this game is utter crap, is this accurate?
Re: Review: Aero Fighters 2 (Switch eShop / Neo Geo)
@KIRO Strikers is totally worth getting. It has a completely different feel and is very addictive.
