Re: Editorial: Nintendo and Virtual Reality Aren't a Good Fit in 2016

@Henmii Nintendo already has their foot in the door of virtual reality. With the gamepad - those metroid levels in Nintendoland show that they are really close to that sort of immersion. But the other companies haven't been spending their time working on making "Fun and Entertaining" games - they've been focused on making Real Looking games. So when they do make full-on Virtual Reality AAA Games (none have been made so far - the only VR games are glorified demos) they're gonna face the reality of not knowing how to make a game "Fun". And everyone will bemoan VR - but the problem will be that the experience itself won't meet the hype. The funniest thing about everyone's hype is - they are simply curious. It is fine to be excited. But that excitement can cause people to see things a little bit rosier than they actually are. VR is going to doom every company that takes it on before it is ready. And I don't see it being ready for another 2 years minimum.

Re: Talking Point: The Allure of the Virtual Console and How Nintendo Can Harness It

Get the Square Enix Games onto the virtual console - DS versions if possible.
Get the old japanese only games translated over "FE - Binding Blade" "Mother 3" IDK - there must be more.
Get that gamecube controller support going - so we can have Super Mario Sunshine and Luigi's Mansion.
Give us some paid Splatoon DLC.
Finally make a proper remaster of Zelda II the Adventure of Link. In 3D - with the enhancements that Shigeru originally intended.

One Billion Dollars. (jk)

@gsplatinumdp I agree 100% - and I want to add these
Mario vs Donkey Kong (GBA)
Fire Emblem - Shadow Dragon (DS)
Kirby Epic Yarn (Wii)
Final Fantasy VI (GBA)
and someone just posted Metroid Zero Mission (GBA) as I was typing this.
and they also reminded me about Xenoblade Chronicles (Wii)

I wish they would let you lock your gear to certain levels. So when the game offers you the two levels - you select the a gun for one level - and a sniper rifle for the other level - and as the game chooses one level - it switches your equipment. I use two different weapons depending on the level - and sometimes the game chooses a level that i'm not good at with the weapon I have. Sort of weird.

I'm hoping that the Cloud in Smash is a sign of things to come. Not necessarily all new square games coming out for nintendo consoles - but at LEAST we could have the past virtual console games to be brought over - Secret of Mana - Final Fantasy games - and even My Life as a Darklord. But don't you dare bring King's Knight over. I made that mistake before - I won't make it again.

am I the only one that doesn't understand why we never got a Luigi's Mansion on the Wii or the Wii U? and why has there never been a Super Mario Sunshine on those systems? They made a Poltergeist 3000 controller (the wii mote) - why not make a game with it? And a cool controller cover... I don't understand them - they've had like 10 years to make it. But we got an awesome 3ds game and a nintendoland mini game... I don't understand

Re: New Splatoon Patch Adds Fresh Gear, Adjusts Ranking Results And Generally Makes Things "More Pleasant"

@zeldagaymer93 chances are good that if you won 9 matches but lost one - that the one that you lost was not because of you - and besides - it is a much better metric than was used before - splatting people doesn't really help your team as much as (cough) Winning. You can still see the splats on the ranking screen - and if splats matter to you - then there you go. And if you've lost 9 matches then you all of a sudden kick butt in one match - chances are that you play poorly - and that was a fluke.

(guy complains about the way a game looks - over a year before it comes out - game comes out and looks great - wash - rinse repeat - but that is how Nintendo operates - the other companies put up footage of a game to Hype it up - then when the game comes out - everyone is like "What? This looks terrible" - looking at YOU dark souls 2.

@garthvader No, you suffer from delusions of grandeur - they also delayed Zelda - and nobody was complaining about the way that one looked - you should understand - ya'll were just complaining into the void - Iwata died - and then there were delays. Delays in game dev happen - when the President of the company dies - that causes delays. And sometimes delays just plain happen. Don't pretend that you had anything to do with it. Delusions of Grandeur.

you folks need to learn to stop being pessimistic when it comes to Nintendo - they always deliver - how many times has this happened? The only time I can think of that Nintendo actually did a bonehead move was the Virtual Boy. Just wait for the game to come out - and play it - then you can complain. Remember Wind Waker? People were complaining about that - saying it looked dumb - Iwata just said "Wait until you play it" - and that philosophy should extend to just about every Nintendo product.

The perfect gamepad alignment is the one where the buttons are all of a sudden sideways- cuz that puts both images on your TV - but you're supposed to hold the gamepad sideways - why not just let us use that display - both on the tv - one on top of the other - and the same size - while using the gamepad normally? It would be perfect. The other perfect way would be if I turned my tv 90 degrees - but that is just silly.
