Re: Review: Deadly Creatures (Wii)

I enjoyed this game, but it wasn't until the last level that it felt truly open where you could explore everywhere.
Was hoping this would be a minor hit so we could get other deadly creatures, there are tons of cool animals and instincts it would be a blast to play as.

Re: Wii Is "Fool's Gold"

many of the wii systems are sold to people who have no way of knowing what games are available, will be available, or are good.
They don't read videogame news online, post in message forums, have subscriptions to gaming magazines, or requent gamestops.
There are a ton of people out there who would love okami, or boom blox, zack/wiki or any number of enjoyable 3rd party games.
But how do you communicate videogames to people who do not actively seek out videogame news and info?

Re: New Wii Zelda May Require MotionPlus To Function

I'd love for many, many games to require m+ and for a standard m+wiimote controller to be released and bundled with the system.
As many games as possible should feel comfortable requiring m+ without feeling the wii console install base is fractured.

Re: Review: The Munchables (Wii)

I purchased this a few days ago and tried it out last night. The eating/growing/absorbing genre is one I enjoy very much. The intro, story and dialogue upon startup is offputting, but the gameplay mechanics shine.
I just want to expand on the multiplayer aspect, since the review doesn't go into it.
A second player can use a wiimote to fire at enemies on screen. This stuns enemies that are the same size and smaller (which you can eat), and breaks up enemies that are larger (which you can't eat). The ammo has a slight recharge delay, so the second player can't blast away.
As mentioned in the review, this game isn't terribly difficult, and you don't need the help of a second player at all to complete. But there are a great many times where the second player comes in handy by stunning quicker enemies, breaking up monster enemies and helping out in the boss battle.
If you are gaming with your child, or want to involve a significant other or friend in a shared single player experience, this is a great feature.

Re: Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 in "Not Coming to Wii" Shocker

I'd say lifting size limits is a great idea, but the snail pace of wiiware/vc releases as it is almost makes it meaningless. I mean lets say in a crazy world the wii suddenly had saturn and dreamcast games available. As cool as that would be, there wouldn't be but a handful of games released for it over the next couple years.

Re: WiiWare Sales Targets: More Details Emerge

nintendo needs to do a better job getting the millions of wii owners into the wii shop. Either allow games to be purchased from nintendo.com, or amazon.com Or give people a free 100 points for signing up for a weekly wiiware newsletter. Or sticking a wiiware brochure in every box right on top of the system.
