I really hope when the next system replaces the wii, it will be easy/simple/hassle-free to migrate one's vc, wiiware and savegame data. For me, if Nintendo botches that transition, it's going to be a dealbreaker to get a new console.
I've been playing it with my girlfriend and it's fun to bounce ideas around. D-pad control would have gone a long way to make it more enjoyable. And using the dpad to scroll the camera can be annoying as well since it often wants to center back on the main character. The idea of Scribblenauts is perfect, and while flawed in execution, no game is perfect. Still, it is very refreshing to have so many ways to get from point a to b.
I continue to bang the drum for incentives. Put a 500 wiipoints card in the box, or bundled with wiifit/music/resort. Or work a cross promo with a tv/internet service provider. Free Wii with 2 year contract.
nice promo, but I still thinking bundling 500 points with every wii or with every sports resort or wii fit plus would get more people online, especially reaching other demographics
What is the total value of all games on the vc? could be worth it to buy 20 systems, sell those around christmas time and break even/take a slight loss.
I wish they bundled free points with the console, so wiiware, vc and online would get more of a boost from the entire wii owning community instead of the minority currently.
it has to be disheartening to spend so much time, energy and money, create a fantastic, well reviewed game and then see garbage like sexy poker outsell it week after week after week. People are entitled to purchase whatever they want, but really! Anyone with an internet connection can play poker or see anime boobs whenever they want, for free.
great graphics aren't truly needed for a good scare- atmosphere and audio go a long way. I ws playing System Shock 2 recently and that still can be unsettling at times. But with Calling, some of the human faces in the trailer are bad to the point of distraction. High hopes as always, though.
enjoying contra, unfortunate it looks kind of ugly, and black bars on the sides don't help. And displaying scores onscreen would have been a good idea.
old internet browser was 233 blocks (for me), nice to gain 30 blocks, but oddly I had to delete the old one first to make room surprised they updated, glad to see flash is back
could be awesome, the only real flaw with okami wii (aside from deleting the ending), was not telling players ingame the very easy way to draw straight lines 100% of the time
Could someone speak more about the co-op? If they released this game at $15 with just the co-op (and fate of atlantis) would it be a 9 or 10 star game? I'm thinking of picking it up just for two player gaming.
I don't see why a remake is a negative. The recent remake of monkey island is one of many examples showing a remake can enhance a good game into something even better.
I played through the full version on the pc, the demo is good, but doesn't really do the game justice. The learning curve is also pretty smooth, by the time you get to the demo level in the tree, it is nowhere near as frustrating.
Free is always good, but it would be better if nin included a code for free metroid in all copies. That would be the type of good incentive to deter used sales. I'd like to see us releases tap into using VC titles as incentive. If nintendo is moving away from VC because it is not as profitable/popular, they might as well try using it in a different direction like boosting new game sales.
ghostfire, thanks for taking the time to answer so many questions. Have you played Dragon Quest Swords? That game was a bit of a letdown as combat was boring and repetitive. I see you are not using the nunchuk/wiimote combo as used in that game.
it needs motion plus, and balance board support has to be better. I also found the 2player mode to me the weakest link, it would need an overhaul for online play
or the real answer is voice work costs money and takes up space on disc/cart, and while your game might get praised for quality voicework, usually people will choose to lower scores for bad voicework people are always complaining, silence is the safer choice
I would have preferred the art style from curse, and elaine especially I am not that fond of the design. I'll still get this, but probably once all the eps are out
Bought this when it came out, and being a kid at the time, $50 was a ton of money. I liked the arcade game, my favorite character was the wolf. So disappointed Ralph was not in the game. I beat it with my sister in one playthrough after I brought it home. I wouldn't say it was a complete waste, because it was one of the games I could play with my sister and she would enjoy, because it wasn't that difficult and you would have infinite lives. There are some good memories keeping this from being a total dog. But if not for that, playing this now, the game would be dreadful. Would have been better if it was 3 player via the nes fourscore.

Re: Did Nintendo Secretly Patch The Conduit?
odd, wonder why they wouldn't want to tell people, improvements are good things

Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (23rd Sept)
I hope Nyx sold enough so that Over the Top games keeps supporting wiiware.
The game was a treat to play and made great use of wii-specific controls.
Re: Review: Family Tennis (WiiWare)
I almost didn't bother reading the review, because the Family line has become synonymous with garbageware. This is a pleasant surprise.

Re: Review: Cursed Mountain (Wii)
wow, solid review. Will pick this up once.
Re: Castlevania Comes to WiiWare
cool, would think it looks like the snes, going gameboy would make more sense for the dsi (if at all)
Re: Wii Version of Madden NFL 10 Selling Poorly
I think having franchise mode as an "unlockable" was a terrible, terrible decision.
Confusing and unneeded.
Re: New Add-On Content Released For FFIV: The After Years
I wish wiiware had weekly sales, even 100 points off would inspire me to pick this up

Re: Review: Professor Layton and Pandora's Box (DS)
the 1st was such a charming, enjoyable game
Re: Metroid Prime Trilogy: Visually Worse Than Original Releases?
Drake-
I didn't realize there were any changes, let alone so many for the EU version. Cool.
Re: Nintendo Download: Rebirths, Colours, Jedi and Clubhouses (US)
enjoying contra, unfortunate it looks kind of ugly, and black bars on the sides don't help. And displaying scores onscreen would have been a good idea.
Re: Capcom Interested In Doing More Retro Games
the cost of making the game could not have been high at all. Plus, mm9 sales will continue onward for years.
Re: Bonk: Brink of Extinction Coming to WiiWare
It would be nice if more developers were as focused on wiiware as hudson is
Re: Wii Internet Channel Now Free!

wow, didn't expect an update, better re-download the internet channel

Re: LostWinds: Winter of the Melodias Announced
purchasing this on release, will probably replay the first right before this comes out
Re: Muramasa: The Demon Blade Exclusive Release Party
nuts, that's a 5 minute walk away, too bad it's labor day weekend and not this weekend
Re: Japanese Virtual Console list - September 2009
I didn't even know there were goemon 2-4 on the snes, I loved mystical ninja, I wonder if there is a translation somewhere...
Re: Wii Sports Resort Sales Go Through The Roof
agreed, also should be a strong sign for 3rd party devs that the peripheral is out there, waiting for more games

Re: Mini Ninjas (Wii) Tora Trailer
I tried the pc demo, the game could be a gem
Re: Buy Metroid Prime Trilogy, Get the Original Metroid Free
Free is always good, but it would be better if nin included a code for free metroid in all copies.
That would be the type of good incentive to deter used sales.

Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (12th Aug)
the success of a dog like sexy poker sadly will lead to further terrible games,
also rum: did you try the pc demo? it is quite scalable
I'd like to see nin expand to a top 25 or 30.
Re: Review: Hybrid Heaven (Nintendo 64)
I bought into the hype when this game was announced, I was extremely disappointed.
Re: NyxQuest: Kindred Spirits Available in North America Next Monday
hot damn, picking this up
Re: Review: Sexy Poker (WiiWare)
there will be much sadness if/when this game hits the top 20

Re: Interviews: Night Game - Nicalis
nice interview, didn't realize it was still months away from an estimated released even.
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (29th July)
If nintendo wants to push wiiware more than vc now, they need to rethink their strategy.
A new wii owner can easily miss out on great games.

never heard of the game before last week, nice surprise

Re: Wii System Update 4.1 Available
Didn't a previous update make all future updates automatic?
it's obviously not the case
Re: Review: Ant Nation (WiiWare)
thanks for the review, it will go a long way to helping me choose to get this or not
Re: Nintendo Download: Bits, Tanks, Ants, Commandos, Pulses and Brains (US)
hmm, will wait some wiiware reviews, as usual
pulseman might be a purchase though
