capcom said zack and wiki sold 126k (don't know if that is worldwide or what) on gamasutra.com
the site also revealed "The well-reviewed Little King's Story for Wii sold 26,000 units in Japan, 37,000 units in North America, and 67,000 in Europe -- the latter figure being more than the previous two territories combined. Muramasa: The Demon Blade, on the other hand, saw better Japanese reception with 47,000 units sold."
As a gamer, I am pissed that great games aren't being played, talent is not being rewarded and these games will likely go without a sequel. If I actually worked on them though, I would be incredibly sad. So many millions of people out there would enjoy these specific games, and yet chose garbage instead. I cannot fault Capcom's frustration.
the shame is the environment is an important issue, and there are always many more things consumers and companies can do. And verification for company claims are also important. But it seems Greenpeace does more harm than good with these yearly reports.
I'd hate to be a wii developer and see utter garbage outsell well made games. It's like, why bother putting effort and money into a good game when quality doesn't improve sales.
those are monster numbers, for the wii, probably .01% of those downloads are legal owners who wanted to play the game at a higher resolution on their pc running dolphin
I filled out the survey and asked for points or games to be available- even if at usurious rates. Whoever asked for folders, bookmarks and greeting card sets, you are dead to me.
never finished mm9, maybe 2 or 3 bosses left, but I've never finished any of the mm, always lose interest from the die/repeat/memorization after a while. Plus holding the controller sideways for too long cramped my hands up.
Probably will still get 10 the day it is released, though.
bizarre story, so many questions, such as- why would SMK cause VC struggles? Maybe a game like Star Fox, Stunt Race or Rendering Ranger R2- but mario kart? And then if they were having struggles, shouldn't they be more likely to approve street racer so people can buy in the interim? If you look at the popular chart for VC, nintendo games dominate. 3rd party VC get a fraction of the sales- even awesome 3rd party games (def d'loading boy and his blob).
they need to put the demos in a separate tab at the top of the screen, or have a demo channel. putting them in the top 20 popular tab is silly and confusing.
for great games, graphics don't matter as much, but for the mediocre and average games, graphics can go a long way towards better immersion. I recently finished Cursed Mountain, and it really would have benefited from stronger visuals. It's also frustrating that late gen ps2 and cube games can look better than wii games.
It's interesting, but at the same time, Nintendo's approach with the Wii and the connect24 is less than ideal. It is a power suck, huge heat source and a pain to turn on and off. Of the things Nintendo does well, they don't have a good track record with their online approach.
I really enjoyed the game, 20+ hours to get all the swords and 5 of the 6 endings. I disagree with the special sword skills being useless, on the higher difficulty, the different sword skills (and powers) make a huge difference. On the easy difficulty, I agree, there is no need to bother with what makes each character separate, but it becomes far more apparent when playing hard. The game might have benefited from a third, in-between difficulty setting. It's a shame that quality wii titles don't seem to sell any better than garbage wii titles. Has to be frustrating for a developer, why bother polishing the game if there won't be a sales increase from the time and money spent.
I enjoyed this game, I agree that because only Hiro can use magic, I found myself using Hiro most of the time. Swiveling the camera around also wasn't as easy as it should have been. And on the last level, the camera feels like an enemy that has to be defeated at times. I'll also add that possessing animals is great (and the final upgrade is also goo- almost too good). But the bonus of possessing an animal, is that every item/plant that can be collected, gives off a small gas cloud. So while it can be difficult to spot items, wandering around as an animal makes it much, much easier.
Keep in mind, any psn games avaible on the go, are also available on the psp1k-3k. And with a micro sd-pro duo adapter for $4 from dealextreme, it is pretty cheap to have 16-32gb memory. I always rip my umds to the memory (one of the benefits of cfw) My major gripe is purchasing items off the psn using the media go store on a pc is tedious and the program is bloated. Also, when purchasing directly from the store on a psp, you can't do anything while downloading. Larger games means you buy something and tie up the system for a while.
Sony doesn't get major points by allowing purchased items to be used on multiple machines. A part of me fears my wiiware purchases will not be coming with my account when I get the system after the Wii.
I could never beat Final Fantasy on the nes (or most games then, including Dragon Warrior). It wasn't until the gba when I could save more readily that I finished it. All nes rpgs felt roguelike- in that you could sink an hour of leveling up or exploring and have it be completely wasted if you died. Dying without accomplishing anything bothered me then, and it bothers me even more now. It sucks all the fun out of a game.
mario galaxy doesn't need 50+ reviews. The upcoming new super mario bros doesn't need 50+ reviews. But de blob, munchables, valhall knights, dawn of discovery, spyborgs, mini ninjas, etc, etc these are the games that really need more reviews- especially around launch I'm just kind of surprised with the internet and all, there are not more websites popping up that fill the review niche. There still isn't a valhall knights review besides the 40% from nintendo power- that is craziness

Most of the time when a game is too tough/frustrating, you know what to do, you just can't time it precisely. Re: Nintendo No Longer Publishing Metroid Prime Trilogy in US
besides fire emblem, warioware is another 1st party title that is OOP.
It's too bad the wii doesn't have any means to go digital distribution with these titles. There will always be gamers out there to enjoy prime.

scratch that, game kicks out early 2nd chapter, took me 40 minutes

I'm playing the darklord demo, but I guess there is no save. It's pretty meaty, the 2nd chapter is too much in one sitting.
