@Jayenkai They have to find a sweet spot and make the game look good even when played on a big TV, they can't lower internal resolution even more as the image would end up blurry even with DLSS. The only reason it looks okay in this scenario is because the GameChat screen is windowed (unless you choose it to be fullscreen in the menu and then you won't get this performance boost)

How are the grips when attached to the console? Are they more comfy than the JSAUX ones?

Playing through remake on Switch 2 right now (up to chapter 9) and have been surprised how well it holds up compared to the PS5 version

I started Rebirth on PS5 back on release and never finished it. I remember the open world sections weren't too clever on that console either

@BigRed40 Marvel films definitely don't get put down like Mario Galaxy did, even the very worst are a 5 or 6. But that is probably down to the fact it's been in vogue for years now so a lot of these outlets have reviewers who are fans of the MCU.

He's completely correct. I've never seen such harsh reviews for an animated film in my life. Some outlets literally gave it 0/10 and they expect us to take them seriously as critics? It's worth a 3 or 4 for the artistry and animation alone..

Also it's funny how cookie-cutter Marvel films with trite narratives are packed with in-jokes and references and that's a thumbs up, yet when Nintendo do it it's the end of the world

@TheRazor rarely been on the winning team but it's prob the only online shooter I've ever played where you have just as much fun losing as you do winning!

Splatoon is such a great series and while I love it anytime I play online, that just isn't my bag. I played through all the single player content in 1 and 2, so this looks right up my alley Blackadder

Tbf a new Star Fox game is long overdue, whereas Captain Toad can just be supported by DLC packs

Don't agree with this review saying the game relies on presentation and because the Switch 2 version has some hiccups it ruins the experience. That hasn't been the case for me with Cyberpunk or RE9, and hasn't been the case with South of Midnight. It plays just fine. I tend to load these bigger games on the internal memory over the microsd express card as the extra bandwidth can improve pop-in

@Misima The game is all about fun, probably why the MK8d purists don't like it. I enjoy knockout tour and playing multiplayer over game chat + play co-op free roam with my gf collecting panels and coins. 135hrs plus in it so far and yeah, I think it's fun.

That surely isn't the true reason? They've had plenty of experience submitting games and DLC with the original game on Switch. Even if you say Nintendo are stricter with Switch 2, well they literally just sold us Powerwash 2 which had to be submitted. Smells like bs to me.

Not played an Assassin's Creed game since Black Flag but really impressed with the updates Ubi putting into this Switch 2 port

@Discostew I totally agree with you. The journos/social media were pumping out stories earlier this year saying Sony will be fine, but that clearly hasn't been the case. It makes me wonder if Nintendo had more of an insight to what was going to happen because of their relationship with Nvidia?

People also forget, not only does the PS5 have more RAM, it also uses GDDR6 which is far more expensive than the LPDDR5X in the Switch 2.

If ever there was a moment for Nintendo to subsidise their console to secure long-term success, then now's the time.

@MamaSymphonia Before the PS5 hike we were told Sony have stockpiled memory and they'll be fine, it's Nintendo we need to worry about.

And now all we've heard since the PS5 price hike is how "Nintendo is next".

@Automated_Unit_4937 nah, the entire concept and selling point of the switch is having all 3 play styles (docked, tabletop, handheld) and multiplayer with one console (2 x joy con) available to every customer.

For a start, we don't know if they're 100% accurate, and VGC corroborating? I could write a blog post saying I've heard the same thing too. Doesn't need any evidence and as we know with modern journalism there's never any comebacks for false reporting.

@SBandy1 I think we'll get a direct either next week or the week after, but I have plenty to play right now, new games and backlog games. One optional Switch 2 update ain't gonna make me throw my toys out. Pokopia isn't for everyone, but it's becoming a bit of a cultural phenomenon right now and a game that's making people on the fence bite the bullet and upgrade to Switch 2. I'm sure the games you want are coming..

I use GameChat waaay more than I thought I would. Sure the quality isn't that great, but the simplicity and ease of use make it really enticing imo. I'm in a long distance relationship and my gf watches me play games through it all the time. We also play single player games in sync and help each other through puzzles etc.

In terms of subscription, I think Nintendo's plans are the least egregious in gaming. Most people are already paying for at least the minimum tier because it's barely a dent on the wallet and has a lot of extras without even counting GameChat

Playing Resi 8. Thought I'd play 7 and 8 before 9, even though I know it ain't a continuation. I just fancied playing 7 cos I never did back on release. Absolutely loved it and it makes 8 make a lot more sense. Who knew

@Thomystic it had performance issues on home consoles so I'm not sure it would. maybe the way the game is made who knows, but you make it sound like it only skipped switch 1 because of mouse controls

@Sylamp I mean, it's something to do right? what difference does it make if you're playing a clean install vs your maxed out Switch 1 save. If anything I see the clean slate as more reason to get back into it

@squiddu-real yeah looks way sharper in handheld mode now. I mean it didnt look terrible before, but you could kinda tell it was 720p on a 1080p screen

@kmtrain83 you don't upgrade, you get a separate game for free. it doesn't affect your original save as you still have the Switch 1 version installed
