We still have a little time before the Wii U and 3DS eShops close down, with 23rd May being the deadline for making purchases with credit cards. We'll likely see some tasty late deals in the next couple of months, as developers and publishers squeeze out some final sales.
For those of us with a soft spot for our 3DS there are a few deals doing the rounds at the moment that are worth looking at, including some classics at hefty discounts. Not all of the deals seem to be available in North America just yet, so we've split the list up with some EU only prices as well.
Thanks to Ilya for the tip and psprices for summarising the deals.
North America and Europe

Are you planning to fire up the 3DS for some eShop purchases?

Steamworld Heist is a brilliant game and a steal at 3 Euros.
@Dr_Corndog
That may be true, however if you're going on a 3DS spending spree, I would totally recommend prioritising games that aren't already on other platforms.
Nintendo should be offering interesting sales on its games, but we all know that the impending end of the eShop itself will be reason enough for people to start buying titles like crazy.
I’m hoping (but doubtful) we get some Nintendo 1st party sales. I’d like to buy Mario 3d land and 3d picross at a discount if they do one.
Unfortunately still no Zero Time Dilemma
I just want Spirit of Justice.
Slim pickings indeed. Steamworld & Harvest Moon is that it? (and other games no-one's ever heard of.) Not exactly heavy hitters in that list. Think I'll pass as I'd rather spend money on the Switch store. Hopefully Nintendo can give us a proper 3DS sale before they close the eshop but somehow I doubt it.
Got the physical of all Steamworld games on Switch. So dont need any of the above as never been a Harvest Moon/Farming sim fan.
Been ordering all the picross games, but after 4 of them my credit card has blocked getting anymore
It thinks I've been hacked I think...little do they know
For some obscure reason I cannot add roubles to my russian nintendo eshop account (from Europe with an european card). Error 9001-0119.
@Zverik Not really obscure reasons to be fair...
Steamworld games have better versions elsewhere, but man, I really miss the old 3DS days.
For Hello Kitty Magic Apron, I can get the Japanese or PAL version in physical release.
Plenty already in my library or on Switch, and these are pretty recurrent deals (from the relative few that still persist, to be fair), but the hat sure goes off to setting a month-long term on such things. Chances are I might grab one of these indeed - if circumstances so align.
I have all the games I want on thay system but some really good deals on there.
@Anti-Matter obviously
I have that purple 2DS XL, it’s a beaut’
I highly recommend all the listed SteamWorld games. I cannot speak for the others however.
My hope is both Capcom and Atlas hold a final sale this year for many of their titles. Both had 3DS eShop sales several months ago.
I was shocked to find that mario rpg was never released as a virtual console offering on the 3ds but earthbound was, I don’t want to hook up my wiiu to play it 😅

I picked up the Steamworld games on all Nintendo systems. I was just going to just pass by the Wii U and 3DS versions but all profits of Steamworld Heist right now goes towards helping Ukraine.
I dare say, 3ds eshop sales are surprisingly limited for a dying console. And, all the games that kept going on sale weren't ones I wanted.
Luigi's Mansion (gamecube port) never went on sale. I don't want it that bad. So, I'm keeping my $40. Pilotwings Resort (3ds), never saw that on sale either. Otherwise, I got the few games I wanted for the 3ds. I'm content.
@Friendly I think is delisted from the eshop. So only physical or on a hacked 3DS (or on other platform) I I had it in my wishlist for long time waiting for a discount...
@Moonlessky I would have LOVED to have Mario RPG on 3DS. I would check periodically to see if I somehow missed it...
...and before someone says the word that starts with H and ends with W and has OMEBRE in the middle, I have one word for you: NO.
.....maybe someday though.
Got Severed on a discount last week
@moodycat Tale of Two Towns, absolutely! One of the very best in the series. Skytree Village is a Natsume knockoff. Don't bother.
Not a big selection, but even so, can't wait for the UK offers.
What is this, a sale for ants?
I did just pick up Steamworld Dig 2 at 80% off last week. But, the deals on the closing eshop have been underwhelming. Not surprising, though, if you look at how publishers didn't do sales on many games during the eshop run.
Picked up Virtue’s Last Reward a year or so ago for the same price as now. Looks like CFW is going to be the only way to get Zero Time Dilemma on 3DS, which is a shame. And odd.
Still waiting for Devil Survivor Overclocked to go on sale, and I’ll probably pick up the FE Fates path DLC (I have Conquest physical), but otherwise there’s not much more I need or want from the 3DS eShop. However, if Nintendo did decide to do a fire sale near the end…
@Zverik I dont think you've ever been able to add foreign currency from a different countrys card due to the 3ds region locking and how the territory shops work. Eg. I cant directly add funds to my jap 3ds from my euro bank either. I have to buy the eshop cards online and add the codes. If you have a Russian console but live in Estonia(euros) then you're going to need a Russian bank account.
Hoping for some good sale titles every few weeks. 🤞
80's Overdrive looks very pretty!
I have Harvest Moon ToTT but idk if its gonna look good on a 3ds when it's a Ds game
Where are the wario land and zelda gbc games? I already have them downloaded but they should be on sale ASAP
There was a huge Atlus sale a month or two ago where I picked up a few shin megami/persona games I’ve never played…they were super cheap and I should’ve bought all of them lol hope they do another sale before they close it for good!
So would you guys even do an article on this if the eshop wasn’t shutting down?
Anyway most of the enticing ones here are on switch or have better games in the franchise.( to be clear I am talking about friends of mineral town, not the newer harvest moon/ story of seasons games). Also all the good games are only in Europe.
Seriously ? They should put everything at 0,99
Would be great if Capcom could do a ace attorney sale!
What’s funny is, all those games have been on sale in frequent rotation over the past couple years. But yeah, if you want em, go get em. It’s just funny that no one was paying attention to the surprisingly frequent sales until now.
@rushiosan Yeah, after seeing what Super Nintendo games look like on Switch OLED… and then what they look like on 3DS’ much inferior resolution…
Yeah, no thanks
Back on topic:
I’m not sure they still are, but the Monster Hunter games were on steep discounts in the US. We’re talking 3 Ultimate for less than $6!
Get on Virtues last reward! Literally one of the best visual novels ever made!
(And steamworld heist is absolutely amazing
as well!! )
As some folks have pointed out, there were big Atlus and Capcom eShop sales just a couple of months ago. I really hope they'll bring those back, for all the folks just now hopping back on their 3DS to grab what they can!
@EarthboundBenjy heist is way better in 3D, IMHO.
That's it for the sale? Quite a letdown.
@Bobb great game
@Moroboshi876: Yes, I am planning on buying every single game on either E-Shop and Virtual Console, but in case I cannot make the finances work, I am still going through all the games to see how much I could possibly save by cutting some undeserving games.
I also want to prioritize what I put on my Wii U Console and what I put on SD Cards and I heard the console automatically sends everything to SD Cards if you try to start with that, so this process is annoyingly cumbersome.
@NinChocolate Isn't it glorious! 😍
I loved my time with my 3DS from 6/11-3/17…when the Switch arrived
@sailornic Nintendo doesn't decide prices of eShop games
@garfreek @Richnj Great! You can experience my line in the game "Rust in pieces!"
