@Kidfunkadelic83 I don’t know if it’s a permanent offer. I saw carlos82 mention it above, so used it myself, but I don’t see it mentioned on their website. It’s a great deal given you can buy brand new first party games for effectively £28 each. Enjoy!
@Mackocaster7 as noted above, it’s also worth stacking this offer with the DIGI15 code at Currys. Just bought a £75 card for £63, will also get £16 back, so effectively £28 off bringing the price to £28 per game. Absolute steal
@presenttense £84 buys you two vouchers, you can’t get them individually. Normally you’d get 5% back in gold points, but this gives you 20%. It’s an excellent deal, but I’ve bought almost all the games in the voucher scheme I’d want. Might get this an pre-order Zelda and hang on for Metroid 4
I reflashed my anniversary g&w to include around 15 g&w titles and 30 nes. I absolutely love it, it goes everywhere with me now and is fun to take on the daily commute. The modding community are amazing and supportive. It’s a shame Nintendo didn’t expand on this so that everybody can enjoy.
I played through the story on this back when it was new on the PSP. I enjoyed it at the time and marvelled at the graphics, but do remember it being a bit of a slog at times. I don’t think I’ll be revisiting this one.
The SNES mini and Game and Watch were good consoles at launch, but the hacking community has made them brilliant consoles. Perfect form factor and great emulation. I would love to see an updated GBA console with backwards compatibility with GB/GBC games, until then I’ll be playing them on my 3DS
Ghost Valley 1 was always our go to for time trials too. Love this game. So much harder than it looks on this video. Sweaty palms just watching that final lap.
Vice city doesn’t look to have aged well. Looking forward to playing San Andreas again, but will wait for a sale. Got a feeling we won’t have to wait long.
@Jeronan came here to say the same. They could be keeping MK8 fresh through events and costumes, but instead they’ve stuck with a port of a WiiU game and raked in the profits.
The major developers must still be struggling with AAA title development due to COVID and WFH. Hopefully there are some big titles in the works still waiting to be announced.
Would have been an instant buy with Link to the Past, but I’m on the fence with this one. The Mario G&W underwhelmed in the absence of SMB3, got the same feeling about this one.
This makes complete sense, they can now do regular discounts on the base game with 50% off, sell that for £15 and up sell the DLC at full price. That way it avoids the criticism of why such an old game is sold cheaper on other systems.
Problem is they make games too long nowadays. I always play the Assassin’s Creed games on easy just to enjoy the story. I hate to sound like Crankey Kong, but whilst games were harder in the old days, that was because they mostly had only a dozen levels before you started again at the beginning, so needed difficulty for the pacing.
I’ve got them all and they all saw a good amount of love in their day. Whilst disappointing that more people didn’t get to enjoy the highlights from the GameCube and WiiU, it didn’t feel like we missed out on any games because of their poor sales. Played both Twilight Princess and BOTW on the OG systems and was pleased Nintendo did the right thing in continuing to release those as promised.
@Silly_G for a bit of nostalgia I booted up Mario Kart Double Dash the other day and it was impossible to control. You don’t notice it at the time, but they’ve really updated the slide mechanic. So no chance of an All-stars version as the older games don’t stand the test of time (except for the SNES version, I’ve put so many hours into that muscle memory takes over).
I've no complaints with the ordering, but it does strike me as odd that the review scores are a bit of a mixed bag (i.e. I would have expected the top 10 to be 9s and 10s rather than 8s). Just picked up Horace for £1 and looking forward to having a blast with that, but see it is languishing in #29th place despite the gushing review.
EDIT: just noticed it's sorted by user scores, what do we know!
This is excellent timing. Am going to get the 35 year All-Stars using the Nintendo Online Vouchers and had been mulling over which other game to get. Decision made easy now.
Found my left joy-con starting to drift today. Was really slow when navigating downwards. I depressed the joystick and blew really hard whilst wriggling it around. Works perfectly now. Could have been some dust in the sensor, but give that a go if you catch the drift.
I really want this, but Mario Kart is best as a multiplayer game and at £200 for that experience there’s other things I’d want to spend that kind of cash on. So am leaning towards passing on this. If there’s ever a half price sale I’m instabuy. Roll on Black Friday 2021...
Give us a discount to tie in with the Smash Bros update and I’ll bite. Enjoyed the week of free play earlier in the year, but this hasn’t been on sale for 12+ months in the eshop.
This is the first game I’ve triple dipped to buy. Originally bought it on a Steam sale, but quickly found my PC wasn’t good enough. Then picked it up for PS4 and completed the main game. Currently playing through the DLC on the Switch. Absolutely love this game. Managed to get it on sale each time, goes to show reasonable pricing for games can ultimately be more profitable for developers.
Took my son on Saturday around 2pm and the queue was massive and already closed. Spoke to a shopper at the front and he said he’s been there since 7am. Whilst my son was disappointed not to go in (my fault for bigging this up) he said it wasn’t worth it when he realised how long he’d have to stand in line
The WiiU had many great games, they deserved a second chance on the Switch. It was let down by poor quality ports (Watch_Dogs, Assassin’s Creed, FIFA), hopefully the lesson has been learned with sublime magic in Switcher3 and Doom et al.
I want to go all digital this generation, but Witcher 3 for £43-£45 physical or £49.99 for digitial is pushing my determination. Pretty much everything else I’ve got so far is with the vouchers. Agggggh!!!

It’s probably just the same games that are not compatible with Switch Lite

Flexing about playing a pirated game on a hacked switch lite is not cool.

No way his top score is 0001, I reckon he’s hacked it and the score resets each time. Having SMB3 on this device is a must for all fans.
