Once again, new information regarding the upcoming Crysis Remastered release has leaked ahead of time, this time thanks to a listing on the Microsoft Store.
The official Crysis YouTube channel has begun a countdown to the game's gameplay footage premiere, which is set to go live tomorrow. The Microsoft Store page in question, which has seemingly gone live early, has made the video readily accessible and has confirmed a 23rd July release date - for Xbox One, at least. YouTube channel EvilBoris has reuploaded the trailer for easy viewing (above).
The Microsoft listing also provides us with a batch of screenshots, although it's worth bearing in mind that these are for the PC version of the game.
You may remember that the remaster's very existence was also leaked ahead of time thanks to a webpage going live earlier than planned. At the time, it was revealed that the Switch version will - for the very first time - include an API-agnostic ray tracing solution.

Definitely will get on the Switch and PC.
Is it coming out for the Switch too?
Been so long since I played it on my PC, I forget how good it looked. But I do remember loving how it looked when crossing the sea and crawling through vegetation. How much better can it get? I'm interested to see.
"an API-agnostic ray tracing solution."
Well, that was a lot of words I have absolutely no idea of what they mean.
If the switch can actually play it, I'm in. If it can't, port the original. I would prefer a steady frame rate and legible images on screen, rather than a muddy, blurry, pop-in filled, chugging, broken game (I'm looking at you Outer Worlds!).
Reallly curious to see how Switch handles this.
I may buy this on Switch, in spite of owning the original on Xbox 360.
can't wait.
"Hmm, is that it? Can you think of someting more to say?"
yes NL. damn you are annoying. Also fix your message box.
Yeap definitely double dipping on this one.
@JoeM103 It just means that they set it up to not be based on an API (DirectX being an example, though they probably are refering to the GPU producer's API solution for ray tracing (i.e. Nvidia, AMD) which would take advantage of the cards hardware directly).
Assuming they are being 100% correct it means they likely wrote it in software. Assuming they are being slightly less honest, they created an in house API with hooks to a whole bunch of hooks to a bunch of graphics card APIs and theirs is either set at compile or run time.
I am very hopeful that the Switch port turns out well. Seeing this running on my Lite is going to be so cool if it's done well.
@malcire I'm taking from this that it is a good thing.
Yes, a good thing is good.
I am so confused haha
@JoeM103 I forgot to explain ray tracing. Raytracing is a way of handling lighting where it simulates how light (the ray) interacts with the environment (the tracing). In Crysis a good example is how the light is blocked based on foliage. If I remember correclty the shadows very in intensity and shape based on the foliages design (i.e. thicker foliage = deeper shadows that conform to the foliages leaves).
Hope that clears up what they mean.
The Neon Noir tech is the best thing about this, ray tracing on Switch is exciting
Crysis is a cool game too though
Switch can handle the original at 900p. It was published at 2007 but still look good today i think. PS5 and PC can have all the “high-quality textures and improved art assets, an HD texture pack, temporal anti-aliasing, SSDO, SVOGI, state-of-the-art depth fields, new light settings, motion blur, and parallax occlusion mapping” this remaster brings
I will only buy it if it comes to switch.
I have a really good game pc, but will not spend a penny on this one. Only if it appears on the switch, want it to play on the go.
@gcunit Yeah, me too. I jumped back into it recently and it’s still pretty shocking that it’s a game from 2007! So I’m sure there are graphical improvements, but as it stands it’s still gorgeous. I would imagine the main thing for PC gamers would be that it will run on Windows 10 with better compatibility. From what I read, a lot of people are unable to run it on Win 10 without workarounds.
@The-Chosen-one I was thinking how fun this would be to play on the go, and then I remembered how terrible it feels to play a fast-twitch FPS game with dual sticks. Keyboard and mouse are a must for stuff like this, for me at least!
@TG16_IS_BAE And that... is one of the reasons I am still rocking Windows 7. Not specifically for Crysis, but just because they can't ever seem to get backwards compatibility right with Windows.
@TG16_IS_BAE
There you have a point. Didnt think about that haha. All my FPS are with mouse and keyboard even third person (Ghost recon breakpoint)
@gcunit Yep, I'm fortunate enough to have two machines, one with Windows 8 and the other has to use 10, unfortunately. I pretty much turned the 10 pc into a walled garden so that it stops trying to update without my permission lol.
Plus, there are about 12-15 PC games that just don't work on my Windows 10 PC, and those are listed as having Windows 10 as part of the recommended system requirements on their Steam pages!
@The-Chosen-one Some people get used to it, but I'm pretty notoriously bad at FPS games to begin with and I could never get the hang of any precise aiming with a controller! But Crysis has an element of strategy from the suit's powers that it's still fun to fart around in it, hahahah...
@ritouf I'm willing to be money that the Switch version is going to be a slightly updated version of the 2007 release, with the "remastered" sticker plastered on it. Like Dark Souls "remastered," lol
Could be a pr stunt
It will be nice to have the multiplayer functioning and populated.
Has a price been announced for this?
Can't wait for Nintendo Switch
@secret333 Functioning multiplayer on the Switch version??
I'm assuming you mean PC or the bigger consoles, right?
@JoeM103 It’s just a lighting technique. Ideally it will help the game’s lighting look better/more realistic.
@ritouf While I haven't played Switcher on a 65 inch, I did play it on my 43 or so inch. I happened to start in right after the patch that added sharpening, which in my opinion just lifted the game high enough to look good. The frame drops in Novigrad were always ugly and painful, but I enjoyed completing the game on my Switch (almost always docked and using motion interpolation of my TV). For me the sharpening made it passable.
Warface runs on the CryEngine so there is your first look. I missed this game so I'm excited for it. I doubt the Switch version will be here in July. We are still waiting on Doom eternal, remember that everyone?!
