Lol, why would you download The Witcher 3 when you can buy THE WHOLE GAME ON THE CARTRIDGE!?
@gcunit Agreed, but the convenience of not having to switch cartridges could be more important than paying for SD cards for some people.
Not right now but in 2 weeks after I went to the retro gaming expo hengelo in the netherlands I’ll be buying the witcher 3, digimon cybersleuth and both D&D/baulders gate collections.
Felix the Reaper came to Game Pass today, so i'm gonna play it there instead.
Anyways. I buy one Switch each day on average. Switch have new games on sale every day of the week.
A whole 30GB game!? On a cart! Wow. It IS the future.
@antdickens how do you when a game sale price ends? Non-public industry source? or is info in an obvious simple place to highlight my ignorance? 🤔
Why is Nintendo listed as the publisher of Overwatch?
With 20% of think I'll preorder Mary Skelter 2, enjoy dungeon crawler and this also includes first game.
Digimon has really flown under the radar could be a perfect tie over before Pokemon next month!
Obra Dinn! I had no idea it was coming out this week. That is some day one for me.
@gcunit The whole game except the 3GB patch.
Witcher 3, a 4 year old game, gets released today on switch, toned down graphics and at the price point of a brand new game... The lads at Sony and Microsoft are having a right old laugh at us I'd say
@colmtheperson I mean, this port has just been released, and contains all the content (Full game + DLC). The game is also in a 32GB Card, which really isn't cheap at all.
I can understand if people find the game a bit too pricey, but it must've taken a crap ton of work to get the game onto the Switch, so I don't think pricing it at 60 dollars is unreasonable either. The PS4, XBONE, and PC version were released four years ago, while this new port is now.
Not sure I understand the logic of bundling the Bioware RPGs in twos for the download releases as well as the physical releases. If they were £10-£15 per game on the eshop I'd grab Planescape Torment straight away but at £40 for two I'm definitely going to wait for a sale.
Definetely going to pick up The Witcher 3, Baldur's Gate, and
Planescape. But surely The Witcher 3 as physical, and Baldurs gate and planescape on discount. Price point is simply way to high for such old games.
@Woomy_NNYes No this is CD Project Red. They are the heroes for this port.
They just know how good their game is so they invested heavily in it.
The game comes in a Box inside which you have the case with the cartridge + little letter from the CDPR + compendium (booklet with story) and a MAP of the game + stickers!
Make it Friday already! I neeeeed a Hat in Time! I NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED ITTTTTTTT
A few for the watch list but not downloading anything this week. Just The Witcher 3 and Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth physically and I'll wait for the physical release of A Hat in Time.
I will drop anchor on Return of the Obra Dinn as soon as it's out, and I may finally jump on Cosmic Star Heroine at 70% off. The Witcher 3 will eventually join my Switch collection in physical form, once I thin out the backlog slightly.
@colmtheperson Really? I reckon the lads at Sony and Microsoft are crying into their pints. They would love it if their console was so popular and offered such distinct advantages over the competition that they could sell a four-year-old game at full price.
Don't sleep on Roof Rage (the game I've had in my profile pic for what feels like forever)! It's too bad the press release didn't have a blurb for it, but if you like platform fighters, it's worth a look!
@Woomy_NNYes you can see on the website or the eShop pages to see when sales end: on the website it will list directly under the red price "Offer until: 22/10/2019" and on the eShop if you scroll down on the detail page it will say the same thing after the game blurb.
It still sometimes feels weird to see Geralt as this well known character when I remember reading his adventures as a teen.
But I have all Witchers on PC, so I am more interested in Hatty Time, Podunk Champion and Dead Grayscale Ship.
@klingki I only heard about Roof Rage a couple of days ago because Indy Gamer Chick mentioned it - to be fair I've been wondering what game was in your avatar for ages!
Hey! Hamster actually putting Neo Geo and Arcade Archives titles on sale for once! That’s novel...
@klingki I always wondered about your profile pic too. Roof Rage sounds cool, seems to have lots of different moves for each character. Think I'll check it out.
70% off Night Trap sounds interesting. Even if it is a terrible game part of me wants to experience it.
I want to go all digital this generation, but Witcher 3 for £43-£45 physical or £49.99 for digitial is pushing my determination. Pretty much everything else I’ve got so far is with the vouchers. Agggggh!!!
Well I bought those Batman "games" actually.
Not sure if I wil regret that or not.
@gcunit
Some people like to go all digital.
I personally like the convenience, of having your entire library right there at your finger tips.
Return of the Obra Dinn, most likely. I'm also tempted to get Night Trap at this price for the, uh, historical significance.
@KitsuneNight are they complete as in all episodes for that price. If so that’s a steal.
Night Trap is a hoot when you play it with friends. You need to be old Sokol armed with pen and paper so someone can write down times and what room you need to be in. It’s crap as a one player by yourself job.
@darthstuey
Just checked.
They are both complete, full episodes.
They are 6 and 11 gig respectively.
I also picked up KOF 94, cause it's 50% off
@Manah
You mean the "spectacular" acting.
Does anyone know of a site that still posts the price reductions for the 3DS European eShop?
@KitsuneNight
That too
@itsgood2slide
I'm using dekudeals.com
Worked on one of the games listed above during an internship. I wonder if it has any code from me left in it or if they replaced it all. Probably the latter. I'm not proud of the work I did back then but it was still a great experience.
@Late
Night Trap ?
I know nothing about Felix The Reaper except it is the cutest little thing I’ve ever seen!
Look at him dancing with his chubby ...skelington body.
Adorable!
do you have also the same problem like me? I just cannot download the Witcher 3 as its size is just bigger than disk in my Switch...lol
There's 7 Hamster arcade archives games I don't own on sale, so while everyone else is happily playing a 5 year old port, I'll be in bliss with my 30+ year ports.
There are some ACA Neo Geo and for the first time some Arcade Archives titles 50% off.
As usual, though, they're not the most interesting ones.
I don't know why don't they put more games and more frequently on sale. They never are among the top 50, so clearly people interested in them are me and 4 more. Better sales wouldn't hurt.
What happened to the prices in euros? Is Brexit at fault?
@gcunit for most people that’s a fair point but I have a 200 GB SD card so in my case there’s no difference. In fact in that case it’s better to download it especially when such a large game, so that you can always play it without permanently sacrificing your cartridge slot. Although frankly I can’t see anybody having a Switch since launch and still not having a big SD card, what with all the digital exclusives that have come out for it.
(I already own the game physically on PS4 and don’t want it again, but just saying it’s not a one solution fits everybody situation)
Overwatch and Witcher 3 for me. The latter I'm buying physical though.
Has anyone tried the new Digimon game? How is it?
I've never been into that series so I know nothing about it but the story looked far more interesting than Pokemon, based on the trailer in the eShop..
@gaga64 Yeah, I got Metal Slug. I'll get Magician Lord and NAM-1975 when they're 50 % off. It's way to expensive to pay full price for Neo Geo games, even if they were some sort of luxury goods back in the day.
Nintendo should stop allowing these publishers like Forever Entertainment from having their games in a near constant state of “sale”. It clogs up the sales page with absolute tat that seems to never go away. If your game only ever sells if it’s 90% of its RRP then price it at that and stop manipulating the sales page for visibility.
