Re: Chinese Giant Tencent Snaps Up 10% Stake In Sumo Digital's Parent Company, Perwyn

I don't think China should be supported on anything considering they have 1 to 3 million ethnic minorities in re-education camps NOW. I don't understand...everything that some folks claim they hate are buffing China's you know what and are DOING IT right now. Speak out against the chinese government and they send you to an internment camp over there. Don't tell me they don't practice communism, which killed more people than the Nazis. People in HK would rather pay the ultimate price than be ruled by them.

Re: Blizzard Open To More Nintendo Collaborations And Is "Super-Happy" With Diablo On Switch

purpleibby

Diablo 3 has been awesome on the Switch. I had it on PC and Re-upped to the switch version...I had initial fears the control scheme would slow me down...NOT AT ALL...the way Blizzard worked out the controls for D3 on the switch is brilliant...and I LOVE the treasure goblin amiibo goodies. Diablo 3 on the switch is awesome! Hightly recommend. BTW, game runs flawlessly even with TONS of stuff on the screen when it's total mayhem(doing 60+ level GR with my main). Not even a hiccup!

Re: Capcom Home Arcade Is A Plug-And-Play Arcade Stick, But Is The Emulation Legit?

purpleibby

It looks great to me, and I disagree there's nothing wrong with that price. You have quality arcade controls there, the hardware to run the games and the games themselves. Looks awesome. Quality arcade controls aren't cheap...playing these games on a d-pad doesn't compare. Thumbs up here! Darkstalkers man....geez! I would have liked a more authentic arcade panel look, i'll give you that.

Re: Random: eBay Scammer Tricks Hundreds Of Customers Into Buying Non-Existent Switch Consoles

purpleibby

A switch is not what I'd buy on the used market......Ebay is still great for many things and I use it a lot still(still great for music, music instruments, and music memorabilia as well as other things)...but for gaming hardware...if it's still available new, I wouldn't buy one used. Now retro gaming is another thing altogether!? Just have to be smart and shop wisely. Been using ebay since 1999, haven't been screwed over yet(thankfully). If you have success with a seller, it's good to put on the fav. sellers list and remember them if they have an ebay store that sells those items commonly.

Re: Soapbox: It's Time To Admit That F-Zero X Is The Best F-Zero

purpleibby

X had superior music and musical style, very good. Gotta say the music sucked on GX badly.

As far as classing the game from gameplay it's a matter of graphics and processing capabilities but both are fantastic games. GX is standing on the shoulders of what previous iterations had done.

Really one of my fav. racers on the 64 was Extreme G 2

Re: Feature: Please Understand: Unpacking Nintendo's Vision For Metroid Prime 4

purpleibby

@EvrgrnCmln I totally agree with @atomicjuicer. Metroid's legacy and influence on gaming cannot be understated. The love for the franchise and it's influence is pretty huge. I agree with Atomic's perspective there.

I don't agree that nintendo doesn't deserve the franchise(if it weren't for the unique talent and vision at nintendo it wouldn'texist), but they do not serve it as well as they should sometimes....Nintendo clearly has a love and respect for the franchise, and they know how sentimental their fan base is for it. Their move to delay for quality reasons was hard for me to digest at the time(putting it mildly)...but they clearly have enough respect and love for the franchise to make sure they are doing it right and I commend them for that. When this game lands(and you saw the fan reaction at the announcement)....perhaps Metroid will finally get(not counting super metroid where it was released on a very successful console) a launch on a successful platform(Switch) and get the kind of numbers that will give it the success in sales equal to the unquestionably huge influence it has had on gamers, developers and it's genre as a whole. Metroid will always be my fav. Nintendo franchise.

Re: Feature: Just One More, Honest: The Unlikely Endurance Of amiibo

purpleibby

@SwitchForce Indeed, the Amiibos are very functional. We have about 14 Zelda specific Amiibos we used during our Breath Of the Wild gameplay(including the awesome guardian one, which is very beautiful)....that's 13 chests and other drops...the guardian dropped 4 metal crates that had guardian weapons, parts all the goodies. Was a mother load each time. Again, the Diablo 3 treasure goblin vault is jewels and gold like crazy with tons of legendary/set item drops EACH RUN for both players....and each player got to take a turn opening the vault(and all players are included to go in)! Bayonetta's gave good rewards too. Cool thing about the Bayonetta 2 amiibo functionality, is that you get the good stuff and message for the two Bayo amiibos, but all of the other amiibos give you stuff too! So before each game we used about 35 amiibos to get loot!(whatever the limit per day was).....was super fun. The rewards are there, the quality of the figurines is top notch, and collecting is fun. There's no downside to Amiibos. Fun Fun Fun! I'm also a collector. There's a cool way to open the box if you're patient with an exacto through the bottom of the box plastic. All of our amiibo boxes are intact and saved with no tears and the amiibos can be put back in the box if you like! BTW, man I wish I had that wolf link amiibo...the wolf companion looks so awesome! CANNOT WAIT to see the Bayo 3 Amiibo and New Samus Amiibos for MP4(don't hold out on un ninty, they'll need their own!)

Re: Feature: Just One More, Honest: The Unlikely Endurance Of amiibo

purpleibby

Have a LOT of amiibos....and let me tell you, we used them a LOT in Breath Of the Wild.....so many free chests....a huge run before every game started. Also, the personalized USE for each Zelda amiibo...the Guardian one would give you metal boxes with guardian stuff, each other had it's unique stuff.....Used the crap out of them on Bayonetta 2, and most recently on Diablo 3. The treasure goblin gives you(and everyone on the couch gets to make their own run as well and you ALL get to share the run) gives you a trip through the treasure goblin vault. To say these things aren't functional/offer you good loot is not accurate. We LOVE the amiibos and the quality of them is pretty outstanding.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (February 9th)

purpleibby

Diablo 3 baby....doing GRs....just hit paragon 400 on my Wizard(Vyrs lightning/manald build). BTW, the treasure goblin amiibo is worth every penny. Each person playing can use it so you get multiple runs for every person playing. Couch co-op is the best thing to ever happen to a diablo game IMO!

@The_Pixel_King agreed, it looks REALLY great...and it's pretty astonishing that it doesn't slow down when all hell in breaking loose been doing 50+ GRS....i've yet to see any slow down/lagging! They did a good job, the switch handles it very well!

Re: Nintendo Is Already Taking The Necessary Steps To Combat Video Game Addiction

purpleibby

@westman98 Nintendo isn't FORCING anything. They're giving parents the options to help limit game time if it's something THEY deem necessary. BTW, too much games not enough outside time, or social interaction is not a healthy thing for little ones. Ninty aren't making the choices for anyone, but they are giving parents options to make it easier to make the choices themselves.

Re: This Officially Licensed Fighting Stick Mini Looks Perfect For Your Portable Beat 'Em Ups On Switch

purpleibby

@Rubbercookie Indeed, KI for the super nintendo is one of my fav. games on the system(all time). I think it's one of the best console fighters of all time. It was wonderful that the Nintendo name donned those arcade classics. They should be with nintendo today. Back then I thought Nintendo was on top of the world....they had the best fighter(KI), best sci fi exploration(Super Metroid), one of the greatest Zeldas(LTTP) and so much more....they were on top of the world then. These are timeless undeniable classics that transcend generations and are well known as being among the best games ever.

Re: This Officially Licensed Fighting Stick Mini Looks Perfect For Your Portable Beat 'Em Ups On Switch

@SteveF I've been playing arcades since the 80's(have 3 in my collection)....The 90's were the golden age of arcade fighters and the arcade was still hot in general! Good grief man, you pulled the pin and blew yourself there LMAO! My Killer Instinct 1 and 2 arcade machines disagree with you...in fact, it's legacy is of that generation of arcade gaming is still being enjoyed and expanded upon to this day. We got KI, Street Fighter(even though the first came out in the 80's, all of the rest flourished in the 90's), and Mortal Kombat...lesser know but still awesome Dark Stalkers and many more. 90's were a 2nd golden age for the arcade scene that filtered down into the consoles of the time.(nintendo, I so wish you would have kept rare....Killer Instinct should have been your franchise!)

Re: Nintendo Sees Stock Fall By 9% After Cutting Its 20 Million Switch Sales Target

purpleibby

@Lionyone It's not because of the US economy, the US economy is firing on all cylinders right now by every measure(probably best we've had since I can remember, and I'm old lol)....Brexit, you have the scare campaign trying to scare everyone and undermine the vote. Italy's problems have been stewing for a long time...the EU is a sinking ship unfortunately.
I think it's just a matter of missing the sales forecast like the article says, the delay of one of the biggest titles didn't help and Nintendo isn't up front about what's coming really.
