Another listing has appeared for a Switch release of Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition, adding to the already-existing evidence suggesting a port must be on the way. This time, though, it may as well be an official confirmation.
Earlier this month, an EB Games Canada listing for the title triggered speculation over its potential release. Now, the game has popped up once again, this time on THQ-owned Koch Media's very own website. The listing suggests that it'll be available this August, as you can see in the screenshot we've grabbed below.
We can't see why the game would appear on Koch Media's site if it wasn't definitely on the way, although there was the mysterious case of Spyro Reignited Trilogy appearing on Nintendo's official site a while back. We'd say you can now safely get excited for Darksiders II being on Switch, but it's perhaps best to wait for THQ to announce it officially with all the promotional bells and whistles you'd expect.
Would you like Darksiders II to make it to Switch? Would you pick it up this summer if it does indeed release? Let us know in the comments.

So stinking fantastic. Day 1
I dunno, the first one was so good, the second just didn't interest me as much.
I think for me it was the controls. The first game felt really solid. You weren't Spiderman. You were more like Captain American.
Your attacks were slower and methodical but they all felt so satisfying.
The second game felt like you were Spiderman. Less slower and much more flashy.
It's hard to describe. The story didn't pull me in as much either.
Day one! Just as Darksiders Warmastered Edition!
I have no doubt that they will also include the whole package on the cartridge since Darksiders 2 is actually way smaller than Darksiders 1.
Played it on Wii U. This game was a huge disappointment.
Day 1. I enjoyed Darksiders Warmastered Edition.
Do you know what's the most exciting part of this news?
It's that part of those recent listing additions included Biomutant for Switch. That would be pretty cool!
Ive just finished the first one. was a great game, apart from the dark throne.
@Rafke The first one was poetry in motion.
The second one didn't pull me as much.
@Rafke I've not played one till it came out on switch. Zelda like dungeons, with hack and slash combat. Looks and plays great on switch.
@Reverandjames DS1, is great, took me 30 hours to finish, cheap price aswell.
@Rafke Do keep in mind each one is a little different, DS1 is more zelda/metroidvania like, DS2 has more of a Diablo loot mechanic to it, and I've heard DS3 is closer to a souls style game.
This game is good. Better than the first imo.
Still waiting on that sypro - both day 1 for me
@Rafke what are you waiting for???? Go buy it immediately 8.5 rating.
good game but very laggy
Loved it on Wii U. It froze on me a few times, and the menus were kinda confusing. But I liked the gameplay and Zelda-like dungeons with bosses at the end of each.
I looooove this game.
And if the quality of Darksiders Switch is anything to go on, we're in for a real treat on a full 16gb cartridge.
The first one is great on switch. From what I heard I won't like the second as much but I will get it notheless
@Rafke If that's you're kind of thing then yeah, you'll probably enjoy this series. Just keep in mind they both play a little differently 👌
I feel the need to own this again.
I enjoy the Warmastered Edition so looking forward to this one.
Still waiting on 3. I'm not buying the re-relases on switch until that happens. I have them on wiiu already. I'm not a game dev but I think the switch can run 3 with some optimization tweaks. That being said I'm glad that THQ is supporting the switch...I just can't keep rebuying games for a franchise that is dead end on the switch.
darksiders 1 & 2 are both solid games. I will buy this like a good little consumer. can we have #3 too if these sell well please?
I loved this game, and am just about to finish Warmastered, so am totally ready to jump straight into this.
Great news! Still have enough in my Backlog to double dip now, but I enjoyed one and two very much on PC. The story is super cool and I'm actually happy that Darksiders2 was not exactly like 1 just with another character. I'm happy they make the game play and feel diffe with each one of the four horsemen. Makes it a very interesting series! Really happy the series continued. Cant wait to get 3 at some point and even 4 in the future!
So.... some people really seem to think they remember having already played Darksiders 2: Deathinitive Edition on the Wii U?
That's REALLY strange, since that particular version of the game never released on that console.
But all kidding aside: good news if true. Both Darksiders games are pretty good games in their own right, and pretty much a must-have for people who like games that combine hack and slash with puzzle and dungeon crawling elements. I'd even go so far as to say that buying them is more or less of a no-brainer.
Played the first two to completion on Wii U
... Fun but not bothering again.
I'll instantly jump on the third one when it comes to Switch though. And I have a feeling that it will. Porting the first two feels an awful lot like they're practicing with / getting used to Switch architecture... Probably with good reason.
Please THQ Nordic...
Stop with the dumb subtitles.
Please.
Played Darksiders 2 on the WiiU. A GREAT game! Loved it very much, one of the good ones for the WiiU IMO. WILL be picking this one up!
@westman98 I'll definitely agree with you on that one, but I'm afraid we're in for another doozy for the third game...
