@Dissident Performance is not as solid as 3DS ones. BotW is understandable, it's an open world game and a port, but this game dropped below 30fps when you ran into a crowded environment, and it's a game built exclusively for Switch.

FE: 3H is a teacher simulator with a strategy mini-game built-in. This is a very bold and risky move by Nintendo. FE became popular because of Awakening, which was a pure strategy war game. Fates had some town building elements added but can be ignored, 3 houses however is 80% Persona and 20% FE.

Nintendo was probably inspired by Persona Q, seeing how Persona can be integrated with Etrian Odyssey. My guess is that gamers will feel more empathy for the characters if they are more acquainted through all these off-battle gameplay. Nintendo tried this lightly with Fates, where you can bath together (thankfully, now it’s eating together). However, the load of things to do off-battle can be off putting to many fans of the original FE. I think permanent death should be compulsory, making it more painful when character dies since we are forced to know them more intimately.

Graphically, it’s a lot better than on 3DS but not the cut scenes. On 3DS, the cut-scenes are 60fps 3D: they look gorgeous even on a tiny screen, FE: 3H’s cutscenes are below 30fps (probably 24). I also think the stylus and 2 screens of 3DS are more suited for this game: where the stats are kept on bottom screen, leaving the 3D screen on top uncluttered. This game is obviously a handheld game, with 200+ hrs gameplay (mostly planning and time management), it’s surprising that Nintendo did not implement any touchscreen function at all. It would have made the UI so much easier with touchscreen. There’s a lot of things to learn, touch control can make it easier to navigate, especially for new comers. If you are new to FE, play Awakening first to understand the game. This game can be overwhelming even for FE veteran.

@Blizzia By playing Awakening, you learn how to play the strategy battle game. With 3 Houses, the battle is now a mini-game within a Persona type RPG.

If you have never played FE before, then play Awakening first. 3 Houses is so complicated, it will be too overwhelming for you.

Are they still milking this game? Should have released RL2 already.

This game should be made for the 3DS, in stereoscopic 3D it will look really cool.

Graphite caused the Joycon disaster, just like Chernobyl.

The Class Action Lawsuit was purposely filed after Nintendo announced the Switch Lite. The timing is strategic, it will forced Nintendo into immediate action or else no one will buy the new device.

@Lycanvenom You have no idea what you are saying. AC3 and SR3 are both open world 3rd person game. Diablo 3 and MUA3 are both top down games, common in mobile games.

Games like MUA3 should be able to run in 60 fps especially being tailored for Switch exclusively. Just as Digital Foundry said, Diablo 3 is impressive for being a port (and it looks better).

Buy Diablo 3, it's better. MUA3 is a joke in graphics and performance, what made it worse is that it's a Switch exclusive game. Diablo 3 runs at 60fps and looks so much better: and it's a port!

NL criticised Assassin's Creed 3 and Saint's Row 3 for their performance, what about this game? It's an 'Made for Switch' game and it has subpar performance and looks bland.

Finally something is done about this Joycon-gate.

If this didn't happened, someone will crowd-fund a lawyer to sue Nintendo.

Nintendo needs to be taught a lesson for denying this defect in their controller. It's no different from the Soviet denying that graphite caused the Chernobyl disaster.

None of the controllers from all the Nintendo consoles I bought are as flimsy as the Joycons. The fact that the Joycons can be detached and replaced easily meant that Nintendo can earn quite a substantial amount just by selling them. Making them drift after a year when the warranty is over = users will have to buy an extra pair.

The Joycons are expensive, they are over 1/4 price of a Switch. They cost more than the pro controller or even Xbox1 and PS4 controller. Yet they don't last, drifting like crazy.

I expect the same nudity.

The drifting will happen to everyone eventually, it's a matter of time because the graphite Nintendo uses inside creates the particles that caused the sensors to misbehave. You can use contact spray or replacing the stick, eventually it will reoccurred again.

Nintendo uses cheap material inside the Joycon, the graphite is the culprit. Just like Chernobyl, drifting is caused by using this cheap material. There should be a class action lawsuit for this faulty design, I got killed so many times for the drifts. Nintendo should recalled back all these joycons and replaced with new ones for free.

I rather they fixed the drifting problem. It's the inside that counts, not the flashy colors on the outside.

@Donutsavant I said Nintendo game, not 3rd party. All the 1st party game in that Direct has a set date except BotW 2. There's no game scheduled for December, the biggest month of the year. (Last December was Smash Bros Ultimate)

The original Tegra X1 is 20nm. The new one is 14 or 10 nm, this is why the battery last longer. Nintendo chose battery over speed, but hackers will no doubt be able to configure it for speed by overclocking it.

The devs really should re-invent Picross, the game remains the same for decades.

For example: Solving an entire row or column gives you a power up of some sort that battles the opponent in an RPG setting.

The game can be made to be more exciting, similar to Puzzle Quest using simple Match-3 mechanics.

@60frames-please You can use your TV to boost 30fps video games to 60 fps too. The 60 fps frame double function is really meant for adult videos. There's a lot of fast movement in porn videos, it will make the motion less jittery and more realistic.

No mentioned of small font size in this review. Square did not optimized this game for Switch, the text is so hard to read. Imagine playing this with Switch Lite's smaller screen?

The font in DragonQuest Builders 2 is so small! I can't imagine playing this game with Switch Lite's smaller screen. You'll need a magnifying glass to read.
