@Viator_ The reason is in the article, and it has nothing to do with space on the cart.
Digital Eclipse: "MK4 did not make it to the Switch cart in time for physical release. The Switch build had to be submitted for production far in advance of the release date, and MK4 was just not ready. All other platforms have MK4 included."
I wish Parish would leave LRG. The integrity and respect that his involvement with the company imparts, especially in the retro game community, is wholly undeserved by the business itself.
@TheWanderingBard You can turn off that blur effect! I did it almost immediately, because it gave me a headache as well. I think it makes a night and day difference.
Backed this on Kickstarter, adored the demo, I just really want a release date at this point. It's nice talking about delays and all that, but I'm getting worried at the lack of concrete updates since they had to scuttle the original release date last minute.
@Joeynator3000 The lead developer also rants about "cancel culture" and has defended statutory rape and teachers seducing students. And he's doubled down on all of it. He's an awful person.
@SBandy1 Same. I was going to say, people absolutely lose their ***** over the poor graphics, technical issues, bland in-game environments, etc., and now want to add a whole new thing on top of that?? It's like why my dad resisted buying a car with power windows for so long, because he said it was just another thing to go wrong and have to get fixed at great expense. Maybe we table the voice acting for now and focus on bringing everything else up to par.
@jsty3105 Exactly. It's part of this weird obsession gamers have with quantifying the objective quality of games. That's why people in this comments section even are discussing the score itself as if there isn't an actual REVIEW where they talk about what it's like playing the game. Framerate is just another proxy for value for them.
And to be clear, I'm talking about the people clutching their pearls over framerate as if it's something they're entitled to, as opposed to the reasonable people just using framerate as an element of their decision.
I'd REALLY like to know exactly how they phrased the question in the survey, and what definition they're using of "new game." I buy loads of new games, but they're inexpensive digital indie titles. In terms of AAA, so-called full price games, I buy at most 2 a year.
@gwyntendo If you're referring to the camera in the original release of Yooka-Laylee, it was indeed awful but they added in full camera control through a patch not long after, so it became a non-issue.
One of the few times Nintendo's own eShop "Coming Soon" section ended up being useful is when I was checking it out last night and did a double take when I saw this game. Wishlisted it immediately. I came to it kinda later than most, and through the DS version, but I really enjoyed it. Definitely a bona fide hidden gem.
That's cool that she played volleyball at K-State! I'm from Kansas, my sister is a KSU alum, as are tons of my friends. K-State had a pretty good women's volleyball program there for a bit, if I remember right.
Incidentally, if anyone is interested in a literal Mike Mignola Hades-like, there's a game called Hellboy Web of Wyrd that is basically Hades, but with Hellboy. I haven't personally played it, but visually it looks fantastic, and the Steam reviews are Mostly Positive.
I didn't think Hollow Knight fans could get more annoying than when they were screeching about how long the game took to make, but turns out hearing you guys screech at anyone with any sort of non-effusive praise for it is even worse. Congratulations!
@xmkbest Yeah! Celeste is another famous ultra-difficult platformer, one that actually beautifully blends the difficulty thematically with the story, and even IT offers a ton of difficulty and accessibility options, albeit with a disclaimer about the intended way to experience the game.
But let's be real, if gamers only every played games exactly the way they were intended to be played, none of us would play anything.
I bought Chants of Sennaar based on Jim's description and recommendation and could NOT have been happier. It's such a unique and incredible game, especially if you have any interest in linguistics, or especially sociolinguistics.
@Spider-Kev If they "still" cared, it wouldn't have been such a terrible game to start off with. The patch notes smack of some marketing person, and it feels very irreverent to the sorry state of the game that put out and charged people money for.
That trailer has me hooked for the movie at the very least! It reminds me a little bit of 1408, the Stephen King adaptation. I'll admit I had seen this game on the eShop and ignored it, thinking it was shovelware, but I'm glad to know now I should go back and give it a shot.
Suda51's oeuvre has some low valleys but some very high peaks as well. The first No More Heroes I think is a post-modern masterpiece with as much contempt for the player as the game itself has toward its protagonist. But Killer7 is one of my all time favorite games, and I really hope Capcom gives it a rerelease eventually, even more than I hope Suda51's newer works get Switch 2 releases.
@Hee-ho-master That explains why he's still posting on NeoGAF, a forum that was essentially abandoned after its owner was outed as a sex pest. That's why ResetEra was formed. I didn't know anyone of note still used it, and it's a huge red flag when someone does.
Funny how people were super upset over Switch 2 going with an LCD screen instead of OLED at first, but now that we know the console price and have the effects of Trump's dumb@$$ tariffs looming, they're all OK with a less expensive LCD screen.
I can't wait for this game to release, not because I'm particularly interested in it, but because Hollow Knight fans have been absolute little ***** about the lack of info and I just want the developers to be free from all of that noise.
Fun fact about Richard O'Brien, who created Rocky Horror and wrote all the music, as well as portrayed the character Riff Raff: he is probably more well known to younger audiences as the voice of Ferb's dad on the Disney Channel cartoon Phineas and Ferb.

Literally no one asked for Starfield on Switch. Give me Costume Quest 1 and 2 on Switch, Microsoft you cowards.

Re: Review: Octopath Traveler 0 (Switch 2) - A Bit Of A Retread, But Unmissable (And Enormous)
@Exerion76 Is it a surprise, though. Both the other Octopath Traveler games are very, very long if you want them to be.
