After several annoying delays, Mighty No. 9 finally has a release date, and to remind us that it's coming Deep Silver has released this action-packed trailer.
Showcasing plenty of gameplay and some amusing daft commentary, the footage should hopefully stir up some excitement after months of wondering just when the game is actually getting released.
Give it a watch and let us know what you think.

whats more excruciating...the crazy long wait for this or the crazy long wait for zelda?
It just looks too easy. The dash seems OP and over used. All trailers make it look like a game that focuses on speed runs, too, which Im not crazy about.
@IxnayontheCK
When I played the demo, the dash mechanics were actually a detriment. Enemies aren't finished off unless you dash through them, and having to finish most enemies this way is really haphazard.
Dashing doesn't make the game easier, it's makes it HARDER and in a particularly clunky fashion.
As addictive as popping bubble wrap? Does that mean ill get bored of it after 5 mins?
Hmmm... yes. Yes i will be buying this game.
Looks neat, will have to set my pre order for that sweet dlc.
I need to play this!
Wait, this still exists?
Got it pre-ordered through Amazon so that I can get that sweet DLC, art book, and poster.
This trailer actually made me worry for this game with the opening "Do you like awesome things that are awesome" and "I wasn't talking to you!" and then I remembered Splatoon's Squid Kid commercial and wasn't worried anymore, this game still looks awesome.
Nice trailer but they still can't trick me into buying this game. The graphics and gameplay are not up to snuff.
I thought this was based off Mega Man not Sonic. It does look like a speed run game.
I'm not preordering but may pick up at a later date, looks fun hopefully worth the wait.
yeah!
no 3ds no buy
I realize it's just a commercial/video, but the voiceover ruins it for me. He's trying too hard to channel Batman from the LEGO Movie.
Looks fun. I'll look forward to trying it.
Was this an Arby's ad or something?
Still waiting for release date for 3DS (it's still listed guys!)
Now that's what I call cringy presentation!
Gameplay looks cool, though, but still rather unimpressive when the development span is considered.
Lol I saw this game advertised on the TV in Gamestop the other day and then they randomly added in Minecraft(i think?) DLC related to this game for another game and I was like holy crap they better actually put this game out already. The trailer seemed pretty professional which is good. Like a kids or family movie trailer that isn't obnoxious.
Looks like fairly good fun, colourful & flashy.
Prefer my platformers on the 3ds so I'll wait til that version drops instead (hopefully not too far behind its console releases)
Screw this, I´ll be picking Planet Robobot
Also, is "the sweet DLC" a meme now or is it just marketeers?
It´s a goddamn minecraft skin dammit!
Was this trying to approach the "ad so bad it's good" state? I wasn't impressed with that aspect of it, but am still looking forward to the game. Steam copy through the kickstarter
@buckminster It kinda felt more like "Specially catered towards the internet crowd" type of ad, due to its tone and [attempts] at jokes.
well, at least it's not a ghostbusters movie, so the painful writing shouldn't hurt it too much
The game looks fun, especially for speed runners. But wow is it cheap looking for its budget.
I'd rather wait for Zelda tbh
That was awful. Glad I didn't back this game up.
"...and make the bad guys cry like an anime fan on prom night."
That was cringey.
@JHDK
Neither of them got anything on how excruciating this ad was.
This game has received a lot of hate. Even from me, a backer.
But I think my hype is increasing again. The game does look pretty decent
I thought this looked terrible. my interest in the game just plummeted. Glad I didn't back it.
How do you do, fellow kids?
This is like the only gaming site that's not up in arms over the "anime fan on prom night" line. It's a pretty terrible ad regardless.
Yeah...sure thing...when the game comes out in 2050.
Maybe Deadpool and that DC antihero group equivalent have been the last straw, but I'm really growing weary of the forth wall being broken as though it's still novel or edgy. Or really, edginess is general being treated as though it's still novel or edgy.
"Hey, you, looking at the screen!"
"Yes, hello Mr. Narrator Man. How are you doing? It's so nice of you to strike up this conversation... again"
"Do you like awesome things that are awesome?"
"Yes. No. I, err... just shut up"
The forth wall has basically been reduced to dust and rubble.
That said, it'll be interesting to see if this game can redeem itself after all the mud it's dragged itself through.
Oh man so much cringe in this trailer.
Wow, lame as an old SEGA! ad.
There is a lot of Internet outrage about the anime prom joke. Am I the only one who laughs at jokes about me?
I just lost all interest in this game...
I felt embarrassed for whomever is responsible for this ad. Trying way to hard to be hip when they clearly aren't is sad. Looks like a crappy snes game. I predict a 5/10 average score! Too bad.
@JHDK at least it ain't squeenix with kh3 wich gets pushed back every year cause of crappy remakes final fantasy 7 or garbage action games like final fantasy 15
@YouSeemFRAZZLED last good zelda game was link between worlds before that triforce of the gods and games before it 3d Zelda games like orcarina of time ruined series
I may try it, the dashing combo thing will probably make it less challenging but hopefully it doesn't break the game.
The full title of the game should be something like "Mighty N.9 - Dash-a-lot".
Also, it's just me or the close-ups look... pretty bad?
Yeah looks fun. I'll pick it up when it's on sale.
Even Sonic the Hedgehog's infamous twitter is mocking the trailer.
https://twitter.com/sonic_hedgehog/status/735638491636195328
And it is savage.
There'll be a 3DS key for someone, come June 21st... I was such a fool to back this (along with some other games) on KS.
This trailer reminds me of the Sequelitis for Mega Man that Egoraptor did...
On a more related note, I'm sort of interested in playing it, but it's nowhere near the top of my list. The art style looked amazing in the original concept art, but looks bland now. Game play looks fun, if a little bit lacking in variety. Still, I'll wait til I play it until I give a complete judgement.
I'm disappointed with this. Fast-paced combo-wumbo action is NOT what made Mega Man great.
I'll cancel my pre-order right away.
My hype for this has gone way down but I'll still pick it up tho.
All of that waiting and this is what is presented.
The visuals are GARBAGE. The explosions especially.
Gameplay wise all I see is dash, dash, dash. Somebody told me(as well as someone else on this site) that this is the only way to kill an opponent?
Yeah I'm glad that I didn't help fund this mess. Also what's with the anime fan at prom night joke? It's really petty.
I'm sorry I said that recent Tokyo Mirage Sessions video was painful to watch. I had no idea how much worse that ad could have been until I watched this.
Oh my god.
And those explosion animations are just... wow.
So glad I didn't fund this.
@Gerbwmu It's not really much of a joke, though. It's just kind of... mean.
Ads for games can make fun of their audience and still not seem nasty. Look at some of those European ads for Senran Kagura: Estival Versus that feature the guy dating his body pillow, for instance.
@Gerbwmu
Nope your not the only one.
The outrage over that one line confuses me considering that there's enough toxicity in a single youtube comment section to kill an entire eco-system. I guess some people can't take a joke.
"...cry like an animé fan on prom night." Well, that was rather insulting.
