And I'm sure there are some I'm forgetting. Also, some completely unrealistic additions: Braid, The Witness, and Cuphead.
A few games look like they have potential, but overall pretty meh. The only game I'm super interested in at this point is Terraria. (And Wargroove, but they didn't show it, only the logo at the end.)
While I’m happy we got Splatoon in the end, it would’ve been nice if this project saw the light of day as well. The Wii U needed all the games it could get!
I’ve noticed the occasional skips/jumps/framedrops that others have mentioned here, but they’ve been few and far between, and they haven't really hindered my gameplay at all.
And of course, it’s great that the devs have acknowledged this and will work to patch it, but for me, this is not a big enough issue to be all over the devs and reviewers about it.
One thing that is probably pretty insignificant, but I liked the old style of the Nintendo Download news articles. Each game had a little personal blurb and they always said something like “We’ll dive in for a review and see how it holds up” or something like that. It’s pretty inconsequential, but that little personal touch made it really feel like each new game was getting proper attention from the staff. These days the blurbs for each game just seem to be the press writeup made by the game’s producer.
Another thing that would be cool is more game reviews. I know there are a ton of games coming out and it’s probably impossible to keep up with all of them, but my OCD is really craving a complete Nintendo review database, haha. Realistically, it would be nice to try to capture at least a few more games per week, and/or go back and try to fill in the gaps with some older gems that were never reviewed. For example, some first-party games from the Wii era like Mario Party 8 and Big Brain Academy never got reviews, and while some might find it weird to see reviews for them popping up much later out of the blue, the completionist in me would love it! Maybe as part of some occasional retro review series or something.
Anyway, I wouldn’t say my critiques are anything major. I’m sure there are more pressing issues to be dealt with, but I just wanted to share my two cents. Overall this site is great, and I’ll continue reading and supporting no matter what! Looking forward to whatever comes next!
This is not a day-1 buy for me yet, but I’m keeping a close eye on it. Back in the day, I used to have all the Mortal Kombat moves and stuff memorized (and I still wasn’t very good, haha), but these days there’s not enough space left in the ol’ noggin for useless information, so I’m liking their control scheme for this game. Games like this, Smash, and Roof Rage (when it comes out) sound great - easy to pick up and play, but with enough depth that you can really master your chosen fighters. I look forward to the reviews on this to see what the general consensus is.
@Nunya Fair enough, and I agree with you. I guess I just didn’t have high hopes for this particular project and was hoping they could put their resources into something more interesting.
I wish they would have released Murasame Castle on the Wii U Virtual Console. I never really used my 3DS often enough to warrant it there, but would have definitely went for a Wii U version.
@BulbasaurusRex They did, but plummeted all the way to a 70-92 record last season due to a ridiculous rash of injuries, horrible management of said injuries, and a general unwillingness to spend money to improve the team despite residing in the New York market.
I hate to say it, but your Cardinals are a pretty good example of how to run a baseball team well.
I've had way better luck getting amiibo off of Amazon Japan than anywhere else. In fact, I think the 4 champion amiibo are still available for preorder there, and I preordered them a few weeks ago. If you are able to set up an account there and get the international shipping option to work, no scalpers in your future! Unfortunately for me, I did not know about this sooner and just had to buy the original 5 BOTW amiibo and the 5 Zelda Smash amiibo for crazy prices. Get them early while they are still at MSRP!

Re: Get A Closer Look At The Awesome (And Ultra Rare) Labo-Inspired Nintendo Switch
I’m not very interested in Labo and will probably never buy any of the kits, but this thing looks awesome!

Jumped the gun and assumed it was coming to Switch...
Hopefully we'll get it in the future!

About time! Been looking forward to this one!

Re: Random: Shovel Knight "Coming Soon" To Competitive Brawler Rivals Of Aether
I very much want this game available on Switch! I hope they can make it happen!

Re: Panic Button Says It Has "Tons" Of Switch Projects Coming Up
This is great! These guys do excellent work, and as they pump out the games, more and more big companies are gonna want to partner up with them.

Eagerly anticipating this one!
Re: Review: Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle: Donkey Kong Adventure (Switch eShop)
I literally just bought this DLC, and less than a hour later BOOM, here's the review. I guess everyone's in a DK DLC state of mind right now!
Re: Review: Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy (Switch)
I think 7 is a fair score, you could argue 8, but it’s in the right ballpark. I’ve had some gripes with reviews at times, but this is not one of them.
Re: Hollow Knight Sold Over A Quarter Of A Million Copies On Switch In Two Weeks
I’m happy that many indies are finding great success on the Switch, it’s a good deal for all sides - developer, player, and Nintendo!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend?
Mostly Fortnite. Even installed it on my MacBook Pro where it will only play on the absolute minimum settings just so my wife can try to play with me!

Re: Nintendo's Share Value Plunges Amid Reports That 'Quality Of Life' Project Is Dead
I’d be more concerned with Nintendo if this wasn’t dead. This is not where they need to be dedicating their resources right now, in my opinion anyway.

Props for voluntarily becoming a Mets fan. For those of us born into it (myself included), it’s been a rough life, haha!
