@LegendOfPokemon games like this is all about local multiplayer. That's where i feel this game will shine. Single player probably will wear thin as the Article suggests. This will be fun on weekends with my kids.

@Damo good observation. If its good enough I will get it so that EA can start being stingy and cautious lol.

@DESS-M-8 yeah same here but if we end up with more games than Wii U we will need more! Lol please let this be true lol. Not having enough storage because you have way too many games is a problem i think we all would want for Switch.

On Wii U i have 70% of my games digital and the rest physical.

@MarcelRguez i just ordered a 200 GB one off of Amazon for 65 (usa). That should last me until they let us use external drives with the dock.

@SetupDisk no they don't ( maybe it's entitlement).
Gaming is an expensive hobby though and it's getting harder to keep up with it all. But out if the box you get two players for some games and at most just need a pro controller or another set of joy-cons .. the grip will most likely be made by other 3rd party for really cheap..

@Nik-Davies yep, Wii U never got these type of announcements. It is looking better already. Capcom needs to give us Resident Evil 7, RE 2 remake, and Marvel vs Capcom Infinite

@Mario_Fart I hear ya but sometime I see people put unrealistic demands on Nintendo but turn a blind eye on the competition. Did Sony let you carry all your ps3 purchases over to PS4? Nope. So even if Nintendo lets us do this its more than Sony . ( I have PS4, Xbox One, PC, Wii U).

@JamesR I agree... too much info is bad as not enough info. We just need to hold tight and let them announce how things will be handled.

@HappyMaskedGuy I feel ya. BC is only out for physical games. We don't know about anything else. Its harmful to speculate because anxiety builds and you get no peace. its like a month and a half til launch.

@OorWullie yeah me too.. I have a huge backlog of games i need to play. Launching with one masterpiece is fine with me. What did disappoint me was the price at 1st but its not a biggie. As long as we have a great 2017 overall I'm good. Today should be interesting and E3 will no doubt bring more to the table.

@RedeadLink so Xenoblade 2, Splatoon 2 and Mario Odyssey are poor games?

@cheonsacz let the Switch sell well first then games will start getting ported. would be nice to get FF XV GOTY edition with all dlc and fixes included

@kotag yeah looks awesome. At 1st I thought its a remaster port of X. But was floored with this announcement.

@Megas Nintendo did give freedom to younger minds.. Splatoon is a product of that and from what I hear the Switch is as well. Hopefully this trend continues and more new content emerges

@WOLF1313 i do agree but what you are saying is basically comparing Standard Definition vs High Definition. What you said is true when talking 360 vs Wii. But with Switch we're talking maybe lesser framerate and some minor things. The gap isn't that big so as long as the hardware provides the games in hd and are fun I'm sold. Plus on the portable side they will be top dog.

@DanteSolablood yeah this was my first DQ since the NES original. I bought dq8 for ps2 and was blown away. The music, dialogue and gameplay is all top notch.

@SuperToe great list! Even with adding 30 more you still missing some gems. Faxandu, kung fu, kung fu heroes, Strider, Ikari warriors, pro wrestling (by Nintendo). Batman, batman return of the Joker,

I think Amiibo and Lego Dimensions will be the only ones soon. Now that disney is out maybe they will let Lego dimensions have star wars, marvel and disney characters. Marvel vs dc or team up would be awesome

Poor ninja theory.. they were probably happy to work on that until Disney pulled the plug

@bezerker99 persona games have mainly been on PlayStation so thats not a issue. For me personally its not about how many games Switch gets but how many quality games it gets. Ps4 and x1 have lots of games but how many of them are considered classics or gems? This gen has been very mediocre and only a dozen or so gems have been released. Innovation has teken a back seat to cookie cutter sequels and remakes/remasters. Hopefully Switch delivers on that.

@westman98 i personally feel that BGE 2 belongs in the Nintendo category more so than the other mature ubi games. It will do better than Zombi U.

@NintyNate if we don't buy the games we can kiss permanent exclusives goodbye.

@Spoony_Tech i agree the Switch will need games. EA is playing it safe right now.. they just had unsatisfactory sales for their holiday lineup. I think a lot of publishers will be wait and see on certain titles. Sad for EA because if the Switch does become a huge hit they will miss out. Based on the rumors Ubisoft is taking a risk again with BGE 2 .. hopefully they are rewarded for their support.

They said in the article life time sales. Ps2 came out march, 2000 and was being sold til 2013. 3ds came out in 2011 so this isn't fudging the numbers. Congrats 3ds!

@tjhiphop exactly.. Japan is bigger on portable systems than the west. They should get the convenient time. Its not a bad thing all around.

Lets be realistic here. Once the news is out, the internet will be flooded with information Friday morning. So I don't see this as a negative. Plus , there will probably be preorders available that Friday at Gamestop, Bestbuy, and Amazon in the US.

@JaxonH being a versatile game system is far from being a negative and that master of none non sense. It won't be the most powerful console but will bring great value and options for gamers. It will however be the most powerful portable as you said above.

@dizzy_boy well I do agree but Nintendo does better at that than Capcom. With that said I hope we get new versions of Punchout!!!, Metroid, Ice Climbers, Kid Icarus, a true non motion controlled Starfox, F-zero, and Wave Race (rumored)

As for Capcom... Megaman, Bionic Commando, remastered versions of NES classics (little nemo, chip n dales rescue rangers, darkwing duck), Ghouls n Ghosts, Breath of Fire, Final Fight.

I wanted to say as well that there will never have a shooter market on nintendo consoles if they don't build up a community and deliver a must have experience.. i think switch could create that atmosphere for fun local co op which is better than online play any day

The problem with third party games is
1) not having parity with the other versions
2) release quality games that are targeted at the majority of Nintendo buyers
3)add more exclusive content so it will cause xbox/ps guys to buy it for Switch instead (remember Soul Calibur II? Link playable was the best) more of this type of content will boost sales.

@KiWiiU_Freek me too! I am just waiting for an available preoreder location (hopefully Bestbuy or GameStop). Bestbuy's Gamer Club Unlocked is a tremendous value ($30 up front then you get 20% off any new game or Toys to Life"Amiibo""Lego Dimensions" It last for 2 years) Then on top of that I use the points by using their Card and get like 3 free full priced games a year.

@Peach64 not sure thats totally true .. everyone i know that plays Lego games loves this game. My kids can't leave it alone. My only complaint was the long load times

@yomanation they may not be experts at open world games but i doubt their game will be a buggy mess like most open world games are.

I think the reason the US takes longer to get the new waves is due to the fact that america gets more stock overall than the other regions.

@aaronsullivan I hear ya. Something interesting is all the rare amiibo (wave 1 & 2) are getting restocks in Japan. So i think restocks will happen in NA and EU as well. I ordered a villager from PlayAsia

@ikki5 The dreamcast did'nt ruin Sega. The sega cd, 32x, nomad, and saturn did. The dreamcast did a lot of things right but because people got burnt in the past the dreamcast didn't sell well and also due to PS2 coming out the following year. The bad relationship with EA hurt them as well also due to the failure of saturn.

But them doing about face on doing mobile isn't a slap in the face to us... It shows that Nintendo is warming up to different things. People are overreacting on this topic. I hope this new direction goes well for Nintendo.

I'm excited to see what this new membership service is.

@Kyloctopus I agree.. Why change the gender for link when we could play as Zelda. It is called the Legend of "Zelda".

@Yorumi I'd have to disagree somewhat because kirby's epic yarn is one of the coolest ideas ive seen in recent memory. Skyward sword felt fresh and the new star fox coming is different as well.. Innovation is a double edge sword because people cry for new stuff then when it comes they say why did nintendo change it? Despite peoples complaints for new ideas the majority of people want the same games over and over.. Sales prove this.

I really hope its a central platform that will play the same games on a tv console and a portable unit. The two units could be bought together or seperately. Which would basically be a wii u with a portable gamepad that plays games that you'd normally only get on 3ds or wii u.. Imagine pokemon being on this! Not much of a console guy/girl? Just buy the portable unit which shares the same library. The console would come with a standard pro style controller but the portable could be used as one as well. This seems like it could happen but I'll have to wait till 2016. I really do hope it has specs that will equal or surpass PS4 or X1.

sad... its better to just be nice and give em away for free because it cost me nothing
