@JaxonH we just gotta do our part and support the games we want. I'm having a blast with Botw. Imagine if Nintendo put the effort they did with Botw in Metroid .

@NEStalgia while what you say is true.. they may have publicly denied it (probably to calm the masses) but they treated me very good and they replaced my regular console with a premium one and sent me a new controller with a postage paid return box for my defective one. Like you said RROD ended up being a huge issue. yeah my console was a launch one and it died on day one. So I know how it feels for the Switch people affected now.

@roadrunner343 its great when those of us have no issues but if we do have an issue it's frustrating. I had rrod on xbox360 on my launch console. Microsoft helped ease my anxiety and sent a new console in two days and new accessories. Its good when a company acknowledges a flaw and compensates you for it

@JaxonH well said... If Nintendo can update this thing with Apps and more features, Switch will be their best system yet. I am glad they kept it simple at launch.. The Wii U UI was so slow. The Switch is snappy and loads fast. It actually feels good that we have a ton to look forward to.. I am not worried a bit.

@Bruh at first it kind of nerved me, but after realizing that oftentimes save files are used to hack the system. So this is probably there to safeguard their hardware. Cloud saves would ease our pain though .

@saturn_hero i agree ... they are all top notch... i would say that the ds zelda's were probably the lesser of the series but still a step above most games in its genre.

@KirbyTheVampire a lot of what we complained about with the Wii U (feature wise) was listened to by Nintendo and fixed with Switch. We need to make more noise about the triggers and External hdd support .

@Boxmonkey I don't see this happening on most games.. but why have a multitouch screen and not use it? I don't mind this if its eshop games.

@BAN agreed (wii u being great for those who owned it) ... what made wii u bad was bad messaging, small effort in advertising, poor name choice, customer confusion, an expensive gamepad (which prevented Nintendo from having price cuts).. Switch however was made in such a way to be profitable day one and could receive price drops as needed. The gamepad was so limited it kind of killed its potential.. however with Switch you can connect to multiple units (8) and that experience becomes way better for co-op. Wii u has some great games and i do not plan on getting rid of mine.

@Coderie this ain't a launch with half hearted games.. this is a launch with a masterpiece (zelda) which has already received high scores so far. and some great indies.

@RainbowGazelle people til this day don't even know Wii U exist. Switch is getting the message out way better. Wii u was hardly (half hearted attempt) advertised. Remember this is March and its generating a lot of buzz .. this holiday season it could be even bigger with Super Mario Odyssey (at the time of holiday season Switch will have a larger existing lineup)

@C3dr4c when i first got ps4 i had handsake issues with hdmi.. but firmware update fixed that. This Joy-Con issue will probably be fixed soon

@dronesplitter what color would you like? I hope they do gold joy-cons for Zelda. black and white might be cool.

@rjejr the issue with Amiibo is if Nintendo makes a paywall for important additional content people will cry foul. Amiibo mainly are used to unlock small bonuses.. Amiibo need an exclusive game that lets you use what you have to play (like Lego dimensions or sky landers).. I completely understand your view that not everyone wants to collect toys... thats why Amiibo functionality needs to remain limited and could be used way more with an exclusive Amiibo game.

@Spoony_Tech you are right... I have always wanted more Zelda.. Even before DLC existed. I am glad they are actively adding more content to their franchises, so even after you finish the main game you have stuff to do..

@DiscoGentleman great point... optimism vs pessimism .It's all in how you perceive things.

There was a story about 2 salesmen (Salesman 1 is Pessimistic and Salesman 2 is Optimistic)... The first shoe salesman goes to an island to set up shop and sell shoes but immediately after seeing the people he cried "OH NO! No one here wears shoes I cannot do business here!" then heads back home.
The Second Salesman goes to the island and is overjoyed saying " Oh My God I hit the jackpot! Everyone here needs shoes."

@tedko if you compare it to other forms of entertainment it can be cheaper..

local multiplayer doesn't need reviving in my household. Let me say why... its because its our favorite way to play..

@ThanosReXXX I love that comparison... People always wanna hammer on Nintendo... Video games is an expensive hobby anyway you slice it.

@JaxonH yep, seems like once again Sumo Digital helps Nintendo out on its launch (Sonic Racing Transformed Wii U) ... that game is great.. it held me over til Mario Kart 8 released

@Anti-Matter yeah, street fighter v was incomplete upon release and it had not one but 2 season passes at 29.99 usa each

@Dbang i agree they really have.. they may have reached a bit though with fire emblem dlc but those are some of my favorite games

@JaxonH truth is i always wanted extras after completing a Zelda title. The games are that good.. I haven't had much gripe about Nintendo's dlc practices because i never feel cheated.. however i often feel that way for some games by third parties. Like ive said before if a game feels complete I don't mind adding to the game later on.

@BinaryFragger I agree.. I don't mind paying for quality content as DLC as long as the base game feels complete (the witcher 3 comes to mind , mario kart 8, and world of final fantasy ). Many of us get upset about dlc practices due to the games feeling incomplete (final fantasy xv, street fighter v).

@Firelork Hahaha so funny... I have a strong feeling though they stopped production for now to focus on Switch launch and will continue production (Nes Mini & New 3DS) after Switch production. Its like they are trying to keep costs down for the end of the fiscal year...they have spent alot of money getting things right for Switch and keeping costs low for everything else. this seems like the logical thing they are doing.

also my job does the same thing and sometimes it doesn't make sense.

Activision needs a shot in the arm to get it out of it's stagnant Yearly releases of its titles. This is a good move.. COD needs to take a break as well. if COD ends up failing what will the company do? They should have this worked out before it can happen.

@Peach64 as someone else said its a fighting/boxing game. You play against CPU or Friends.. You can play it with a pro controller as well.

@Iggy-Koopa yeah...many of us Nintendo fans cry about Nintendo needs new IPs or they never create new IPs. They have with this and we should support it so Nintendo will continue giving us new franchises. It does look like a fun game.

@kobashi100 2k13 on wii u was the last gen version.. hopefully 2k18 is based on the ps4/xb1/pc versions. I will get it if its solid.

@MrYuzhai exactly.. my only hope is they eventually have Netflix, YouTube, and media center apps. External HDD support and Bluetooth headphone support would be nice as well.

@Yasume you seem like you know alot about business .. its a shame Nintendo doesn't have you in its ranks as advisor because the rest of us are crazy to believe Nintendo can sell more than Wii U.

@A01 with the start of the xbox360/ps3/wii era western devs were putting out high quality (graphics) games and were seeing high volume of sales. Many Eastern games still looked last gen.. Lately Eastern devs have been making a comeback and many western devs have settled for complacency. Most of Ps4's killer lineup has been japanese games as of late.

I think Arms should be a pack in game for future bundles.. because as some have said it needs to be played to be appreciated. Maybe they could bundle it with extra Joy-Cons. Similar to how Punchout!!! Came.

@WOLF1313 they should release a dpad left joycon. But without all the tech inside and make it 15 bucks lol

@Captain_Gonru Nintendo is all about cutting costs on their end. Wifi these days is fine if you have a great Wifi Router. 8-12 bucks isn't much for us but even 3 bucks for Nintendo adds up. Things like this don't bother me. Its when they leave it out and charge me alot is when I am upset.

@Captain_Gonru i feel ya. But on the bright side a ethernet Lan adapter can be bought on Amazon for under 9 dollars (US). Thats for USB 2.0 but a 3.0 one can cost at least 12 dollars. I got the USB 3.0 one . The Switch will do USB 3.0 after update.

@neufel thats what I heard and I heard that it is Pro Sony. So those numbers aren't bad at all considering a bias poll. Must mean Nintendo is doing a good job swaying other gamers in Japan

@impurekind i feel your pain. This is disappointing. I must say though it's probably for the best they didn't tack it on like they did for Twilight Princess @ Wii's launch. This tech needs to be used from the ground up. Where it actually changes how you play the game.

@BinaryFragger good point about Wii U.. but dreamcast didn't fail.. sega pulled the plug.. it was selling pretty good.. its just that sega was in huge debt and could not sustain itself against PlayStation 2.

@JaxonH great ideas! I came up with this... how about Metroid where you can feel the steam from the environment. Feel the blast and Load and reload. Maybe even use it to give the feel of the wall jump. these ideas could be in other games as well. Id love for some more on rails shooters like the ones Wii got. Ghostbusters is screaming to use this. Resident Evil could make good use of it as well.

@dimi i see a price drop possibly happening Around the holiday when Super Mario Odyssey comes. They will need to be very competitive then due to Scorpio and Pro fighting for our money.. we only have so much to spend

@JaxonH great comment, i always find your view on things insightful . We all maybe a little on guard due to what happened on Wii U but as you said it looks better already for 2017. All we need announced is a New Metroid, an definitive edition of Smash Bros, a fixed version of Star fox zero with more control options, F-zero , Animal crossing, and a new Kirby. Then we'd be set for awhile 1st party-wise.
As for third party I am hoping Lego dimensions gets Switch support as well as COD, BG&E 2, Marvel vs Capcom Infinite, and whatever 3rd party devs can make work for Switch.

@grayadamson this pic is a snapshot of the trailer. I watched it and the effects fade in and out.. this article original source looks to just make Switch look bad but i will withhold judgment until someone actually plays it
