I liked Steamworld Heist more than the Steamworld Dig games. But, I don't think I have the need to purchase it again as, well, I think I played it to death on the WiiU. Maybe, if there's a super sale at some point. Maybe.
I cancelled by pre-order for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Special Edition. I was having a lot of trouble justifying the extra cost for myself. I'll be getting the regular version now. Oh, the challenges one must endure in life.
I'm enjoying the story and the animation style quite a bit. It's nice to have a game that isn't quite as interactive as others and yet still very immersive.
@JimmySpades "Tell you what--provide some data that Nintendo would earn more revenue if they offered larger discounts, that the number of sales increased would offset the loss of revenue on each sale,..."
Exactly. A decrease in price does not imply an increase in revenue. It all depends on how responsive consumers are to a change in price. Something we like to call elasticity of demand in economics.
Similarly, an increase in price could also increase revenue. I think the oil companies have figured this one out already. Something about a relatively inelastic good.
An intersting article. I think there are more than a few of us that haven't played these games before so I think it's great. I've been enjoying Batman: The Telltale Series and Stardew Valley. Well, my daughter has been enjoying the latter a lot more than myself. Skyrim will be arriving soon and I'm sure I'll pick up Rocket League and Ittle Dew 2+ at some point.
Skyrim should be arriving in the post next week. I'll probably download Rive. I'm very interested in Gear Club, but I'll wait and see how it's received before I decide for sure. I played a lot of NFS on the WiiU and that game was/is great.
It's certainly looking awesome. I didn't play the first one, but I thoroughly enjoyed Xenoblade Chronicles X.
I think I will get the regular physical edition rather than the special edition. I think the special edition would cost me an extra $64.96. I think I'll use that for some DLC or some other game or beer.
I'm sure I'll pick up Rocket League and Ittle Dew+ at some point in time. Batman - The Telltale Series should be in my mailbox when I get home from work.
I'm still a fan of the Wii U. Spent a lot of time with that console. The second screen was innovative and worked well for some games such as NintendoLand and ZombieU.
Why bother even releasing a physical cart, then? Why not just sell a box with a digital code? This will give them the same shelf presence at the local shop, but not the added waste of the physical cart. Why waste programming resources to figure out what 8GB to put in the cart?
I find this all very confusing.
And, what possible resale is there going to be on a cart that requires a 24GB digital download that might not even exist in a few years?
Why even bother releasing a physical cart if it's not enough to actually use the game? What's the point of the cart then? Whom are they trying to satisfy?
Not too sure if I can handle any more LEGO games. I think I've had my fill of those. There are a lot of other games that deserve to be played before another LEGO game. Maybe when it's on sale.
Looks neat. I wanted to get this one before, but just didn't get around to it. Maybe I'll be able to get around to it now.
Not related to the game, but I do like how the price is substantially less on the eShop than physical for the Switch. About 33% based on my rather poor mathematical skills and prices that I have access to.
@cmk8 That's quite the list. I don't believe I've noticed any of those. I did have to wait about 30 seconds for my ball to stop bouncing on a tree before it hit the ground. That was odd.
@Joekun I know what you mean. I'm thinking about cancelling my pre-order for Doom as by then we'll have Mario, Xenoblade 2, Rime, Skyrim, and, of course, Farming Simulator. And, hopefully, Gear.Club Unlimited will be good, too.
I'd still like to pick up Axiom Verge, but I think that one will keep moving down the list a bit.
I played an hour or so of it last night. Very cute. I like the relatively simple golfing mechanics as well as the retro-style graphics. I hope I can impress the Coach.
@scully1888 Great review! Yes, I read the entire thing. It's clear that you actually played the game and, heaven forbid, might be basing a score on what's in the game more so than what's not (when compared to other versions).
The screen on the Switch is so much better than on the N3DS, which makes playing Picross a much better experience. I always played using the stylus on the N3DS, but I quickly got used to using buttons only on the Switch.
Looked really neat, but I did find the explanation of the different character types and classes a bit confusing. Mind you, I was having a bit of Guinness at the time and probably wasn't focused enough.
@GameOtaku I have absolutely no idea what the average consumer is interested in. But, I would suspect that more than just Nintendo fanboys were buying up the NES minis. I know that I had contemplated getting the NES version, but I wasn't willing to pay such a high price for it as I didn't see any around anywhere.
But, yes a unified VC system would be great for consumers! Not too sure if that's the best strategy for Nintendo, however.

Please exercise regularly. This will improve blood flow to the brain and will be FAR more beneficial than these so-called brain games.

Re: Review: WWE 2K18 (Switch)
Amazing. I wasn't the least bit interested before and now this glowing review has done nothing to pique my interest. Woohoo!

@Anti-Matter Me thinks that @Prizm was using sarcasm.

Re: Stardew Valley Patch Targets Save Times, Bugs and Adds Video Capture
Great little game. I'm glad to see the developer fixing some of these issues. From the list above, I believe I had only encountered three of them.

I guess it's not related to this promo, but Spelunker Party is 35% off.
Re: Out Today: Racing, Rhythm Gaming, Quirky Puzzles and More Arrive on the Switch eShop
@Kalmaro I received a delivery notification from Canada Post about an hour ago that my copy is in my mailbox. I think it's time to leave work.

Good ports of good games are, um, good.
Re: Review: Ittle Dew 2+ (Switch)
Ittle Dew was a lot of fun on the Wii U. I'm sure I'll pick this one up at some point in time. A few others things going on at the moment.
Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend? - There Are So Many...
Looks like I'll be watching my daughter play Stardew Valley.

Re: Review: Farming Simulator: Nintendo Switch Edition (Switch)
Sounds like a great game, but I'm afraid that it might simply use TOO much of my time. I can't work all day and then farm all night!

Re: Feature: SFB Games on Going Back for More in Snipperclips Plus: Cut it out, together!
Such a fun time playing this game with my daughter. We are really looking forward to these new levels.
Re: Out Today: Sonic Leads New Switch eShop Arrivals to Get the Week Started
I'm very tempted to get Farming Simulator. I wonder if the physical cart comes with a straw hat?
Re: Out Today: Sonic Leads New Switch eShop Arrivals to Get the Week Started
@flapjack-ashley $12.49 in Canada.

Re: Anniversary: It's Been 10 Years Since Super Mario Galaxy Landed On The Wii
Definitely enjoying the two-player game play in Odyssey a lot more than what was in Galaxy.
Re: Nintendo Wants Everyone In Your House To Have Their Own Switch
@Mjoen It took Apple a LONG time to start allowing that.
Re: Ittle Dew 2+ Begins Its Switch Adventure Very Soon
I enjoyed the first one.
Re: Video: Gear.Club Unlimited Gets New Trailer And Altered Release Date
Looks neat.
Re: Review: Spelunker Party! (Switch eShop)
Looks okay. I wasn't terribly impressed with the demo. This'll definitely have to wait for a sale for me.
Re: Elliot Quest Begins Its Switch Adventure This Week
It was a fun game on Wii U although I never did finish it. Maybe I'll dust off the Wii U and try it again.

Golf Story

Re: Poll: A Retro Quest - Were You Able to Buy a Super NES Classic Edition / SNES Mini?
It's something that I might buy if I happen to see it in stock, but it's just not that interesting to me.
Re: Nintendo Download: 28th September (North America)
I had no idea that so many people on here like Picross. Neat.

Re: Reminder: Arcade Archives Mario Bros. is Out Today
Lots of great memories for me with this game as I used to play this with my mother as couch-co-op when it was on the NES.
Re: SteamWorld Dig 2 Has Had the Biggest Launch in the IP's History
It's a great game. It was #1 on the eShop here in Canada.
Re: Picross S Is Headed To Nintendo Switch Later This Month
I've played more than my fair share of Picross so I'm sure I'd pick this one up on Switch.
Re: Review: Lichtspeer: Double Speer Edition (Switch eShop)
@ConorM Thanks so much for the review. I think it'll sit on the wish list until a sale of some sort.

Re: Mario Bros. to Kick Off 'Arcade Archives' Range on Nintendo Switch
@drich255 They only learn the lesson if people aren't buying them for $5. I remember getting a few of the early VC titles on the WiiU for 30 cents.
Re: Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus Is Coming To Switch In 2018
Neat. I wonder how it'll play on the Switch.
I'm mostly familiar with the first Wolfenstein that was on PC. I think I bought it on the iPhone a number of years ago.
Re: Doom Will Bring Hell to Switch This Holiday Season
I have only ever played the original Doom from 1993. I'll assume this isn't the same one.
