@Racthet916 That’s good to know! I must be mixing games up. I remember an open world space game that was really big on iOS and I thought this was it. I wonder what it was called, then? 😬
Reggie's a big talker and a master at deflecting questions. I stopped listening to him ages ago. I wouldn't be surprised if he ran for office at some point in his career.
@WaveBoy I'm sorry, but I own both the mini NES and SNES. I did comparisons with my actual NES/SNES hardware and couldn't tell the difference, side by side. What input lag are you referencing? I'm using wired controllers on both systems, btw.
@Heavyarms55 While I agree with your overall sentiment, why do we need to know about it? Most "bad" law enforcement officials get disciplined internally. I understand that making a big deal about some of these things on the news helps some people get pressured into making the "right" decision, but I still think it's largely not our business. Not every person that gets shot by a policeman needs to be on the news as the next "example of racism in the system," or whatever agenda they are currently pushing.
@illmatic20xx It seems that most news outlets try to highlight the negative aspects of law enforcement. It's nice to see something that shows they are just people too, like us!
Sometimes, you gotta just leave the bigger games on the bigger hardware. Nintendo, if you want games like that on your console, don’t just talk about it. Build a bigger console with specs that can handle these sorts of things.
Kinda wish these things were just released retail. I've got my eye on The Messenger physical release, but I'm also worried that I'll miss it entirely. Seems like a bad way to promote a physical release.
@Cobalt It’s true. This year, I bought 3-4 games for my Switch and I bought 8 PSONE games for my Japanese PSOne console. BUT DON’T DISAGREE WITH THE CROWD OR YOU’RE A TROLL AMIRITE
I have to say, until Dark Souls and The Messenger came out, I almost sold my Switch! Mario Odyssey was boring and was my first cart, and the sheer amount of shovel-I mean, iPhone releases on the eshop are staggering.
I’m all for more games, but the announcements they chose to reveal at the game awards were baffling.
@Varkster Whoa, that’s a little petty and targeted. If you liked the show, that’s great, but if there are people that didn’t like the show or don’t like a particular game that was announced, they are just as entitled as you are to state why they dislike it. Or, should we just silence everyone that disagrees with you?
@Joe-b I agree on the count of 3D games. Most of them feel real janky today. Some retain a good amount of jank, such as Mario 64 or Ocarina of Time, but you have to admit that some of those 32-bit pixel art games are stellar.
@Mgene15 Exactly the reason I picked up the mini snes and mini nes. Between the two consoles, I can emulate my entire library from including Gameboy and GBA. I also threw some of the more rare and hard to find titles, such as Metal Storm, Little Samson, or Dracula X. If The system has enough room for some good PSX ISO files, I’ll grab one in a heartbeat.
@MsJubilee Spoken like someone who's never played the game...it's a huge disappointment, man. And it's a continual disappointment to see announcements for bad mobile games on this console.
@SBandy I ignore those games because they are mobile, so your comment was directed at me. Mobile games are focused on monetizing microtransactions, and they rarely translate well to a full-fledged console experience. I know you're trying to be all edgy and cool, but you're just rude.
@SBandy If I skip this game, I save money, time, space on my harddrive, and can put my focus into the games I love. How does that “serve me right?” Lmao
I just watched some gameplay videos. Don’t worry, I’m not gonna spoil, but during the FINAL BOSS the game was giving TOOLTIPS during the fight. Stuff like “farm weapons and gold in side quests.” Didn’t even pertain to the boss.
This is more uninspired garbage that’s trying to copy Dark Souls. Don’t be fooled by mobile cash grabs. There’s nothing in this game that does anything that made Dark Souls fun.
Large, inter-connected world? Nope. Hallway levels, about 1-2 minutes in length. Straight shot to the boss.
@XenoKidRex I can answer your question, as a fan that bought The Messenger and also plan on buying the limited edition cart that is coming out next year. Short answer, I want to give more money to the devs. Slightly longer answer, eventually, digital game get delisted. So, for games that I really, really enjoy I try to obtain physical copies, wherever reasonable. Sometimes that means buying the digital first, because no announcement of physical was made. Then later, they say hey, here it is, up for grabs.
Right now, the only game that has made me want to do that is The Messenger, Shovel Knight, and Rogue Legacy, though I'm not sure if the latter is getting a physical release on Switch.
@robr I'm glad I wasn't the only one. Was it the constant noise from every movement Mario made? Or the interruptions from on-screen speech bubbles and such? That's what got me. I just went back to Mario 64 and besides the camera, boy has that game aged well!

Re: Reggie: Don't Expect Nintendo Switch Online To "Mirror" The Competition
@ancientlii Wii U virtual console isn't an option? What do you mean?
Re: Reggie: Don't Expect Nintendo Switch Online To "Mirror" The Competition
@joey302 I would get on board if there was a purchase option. $0.99 NES games would be a very fair price.
Re: Video: SNES Classic Runs PSone Games Better Than The PlayStation Classic
@Mrtoad You should see how many Fire Emblem characters people are making in Soul Calibur 6!

This looks like a cool game, and I can see how they were inspired by Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts! Looks like it could be a fun time!

Re: Review: Everspace - Stellar Edition - An Entertaining Roguelike Which Fuses FTL With Rogue Squadron
I remember paying $7.99 for this same game on my iPhone. What does it do that’s so different that all of a sudden it’s $35?
Re: Bethesda Celebrates 25 Years Of DOOM With New Slayers Club, Get Exclusive Content And Rewards
Why don't we celebrate by porting Ultimate Doom and Doom II to the Switch, on a physical bundle, hm?
Re: Gunman Clive HD Collection Is Finally Making Its Way Across To The Switch
@SKTTR It plays like garbage.
Re: The First Two Panzer Dragoon Games Are Getting Remade
Amazing news. Now if we can get Virtual On and the sequel on Switch, THAT would be excellent!

@SKTTR lol EDGE is shovelware!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (December 8th)
@Cobalt Haha, thanks! Gosh, a proper port of Cadash would be AMAZING.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (December 8th)
I’ll be playing some Cadash and Cybattler, possibly mixed in with some Salamander 2!

THIS ISN'T METROID REGGIE
Re: Gobble Up Donut County When It Arrives On Nintendo Switch Later This Month
Gotta say, this game surprised me with it's humor. I laughed a lot and had a ton of fun playing it on PC. It's worth it to play at least once!
Re: Reggie And Geoff Thank Fans For Watching This Year's Game Awards
@Varkster Yes, you are.
Re: Reggie And Geoff Thank Fans For Watching This Year's Game Awards
@Cobalt I’m very tempted to mod mine. Is it easy to do, and low risk? I also wanted to mod my Wii U but I heard that’s easy to brick...
Re: Review: Stardust Galaxy Warriors: Stellar Climax - Mech A Date With This Likeably Chaotic Shmup

It was fun making fun of all the really bad, cringy material that happened during the show.

Re: Rumour: Swedish Retailer Lists Metroid Prime Trilogy For Nintendo Switch
I hope it's true, because you can actually put money on it, right now. The fact that they are selling something based on a rumor is pretty shady.
Re: Rumour: SNK's Samurai Shodown Might Be Released On Switch In 2019
I love Samurai Spirits! Such a fun and immensely severe fighting game.
