Now this is a cool concept! The one who can rock the boundaries between portable and living room gaming!
Of course, if this rumor is true and the NX can maintain the quality and feel Nintendo offers as well the playing together with a new twist: playing together ANYWHERE you want, whatever game you have!
Probably the next month will be full of new rumors from day to day and, fortunately, some will get solid with multiple sources confirming them.
The time of reveal is drawing near!!!
Embarking the hype train! o/
Will this work in the real prototype console?? If it runs it will be like bringing another reality- one that never happened here- to our world! And one that would changed a lot at the gaming world! Mind bending thing this is! Type of thing sometimes videogames can do with creativity and a dose of what if history!
@Pikachupwnage Yep, I know and I loved when the original FM music was also brought to Untold!
But the novelty here is making it a paid DLC - a paid extra for a feature that could be in the game at no extra cost.
Anyway, it seems more clever than just selling a CD OST.
Wanna some FM synth nostalgia? Pay and ya get it!!
Its seems this Yuzo Koshiro guy (by the way, one of my favorite VG composer - as many admire his lifelong work) found out a very simple way to aggregate more profit to his efforts!! Clever move, since it can be considered as paying more for a soundtrack - and it may be worth considering his competence!
WOW!!! What an amazing effort this translation is! On par with how amazing the Satellaview was!
Congratulations to the people who bought to us, today, an experience, form the past, that initially could be unthinkable to replicate - and all in understandable english!
I remember reading in NL, months ago, an article about some investors meeting and there was Nintendo planning to expand their investments in new areas (including restaurants) and - to me - it didn't sound like a new thing: they always partner with McDonalds and I thought that was all about this.
Turns out I was wrong and it surprise us in a very Japanese way!!
They were serious and creative about bringing their own restaurants!!
And it is Kirby themed!!
So cool, so clever, Nintendo!!!
Very interesting interview, should read the full thing later on!
Also there is one aspect - which is crucial about this feeling - not mentioned, one that I have felt trough the years specially when playing a platformer on Nintendo consoles: the feeling of tightness of their d-pad (almost clickey feel) and how soft and tactile the buttons are when pressed. All this tegotae, IMO, relies on this hardware aspect. No other control has such feeling and even the classics Sonics plays pretty well when using Nintendo controller - well, at least on 3DS.
@LasermasterA Thanks for the details about the localization!!
I have seen the PC version on Steam and all the talk about the full presentation. But I'm not interested in that version, because this kind of game feels like was - and actually it is - made for a Nintendo handheld and its excellent tight controls. No other console or handheld feels like playing a good platform in a Nintendo hardware.
Now I'm in full anticipation for this update! They probably already have it , but - marketing wise - they will release it digitally when the retail package comes to stores. Oooh such a long wait until 09/30!!!
A competent platform game that put speed and action together with some fun and other not so cool gimmicks, it sure packs a punch at Mega Man X/Zero nostalgia.
Here, in the trailer, we can clearly see a feature lacking in the America eshop release: voice acting in cut scenes and some some dialogues (also voiced and subtitled) during the game play. Although it could get in the way of the intense action play of this game - this maybe the point of cutting it. But it surely was a missing opportunity for us to experience the game in its full presentation like the original Japanese release. At least they could have given us such option.
Does anyone know if these voice features now presented in this pack will be available in a future update on eshop - maybe in some ind of DLC - or is it just a retail exclusive?
Looking at that picture of Shovel Knight in a kart and with his favorite weapon raised, it came to mind the Road Rash series!!
Could be a kart game with some level of combat and weapons instead of power-up items!
Crazy ideas apart, I'm more on expectation for a direct sequel, like ta SK 2, including a more Metroid like progression while keeping the over world map with much more cities, secrets and mini stages - because it was fun walking around that big map and discovering secrets.
A bigger better and improved version, like they said. And with a more diverse color palette or a 16-bit style in the graphics department.
IMO, I found out the original too much 8-bit style not so good as the instrumentation for the music - it didn't look or sound retro, it has sounded and looked old.
Marin sings while crushing her enemies! This gal is a total bad ass!! Overall they are doing a pretty amazing job bringing lots of style to Zelda characters in this game! Kudos for a well delivered partnership!
Congrats to SEGA, Sonic Team and its creators who defied Nintendo in the 90s with a genius brand new mascot and their incredible games that still stand today and we still have fun with! o/
Thinking today about a long gone past: it seems that was the need for bringing a new character to compete seriously against Nintendo in the 16-bit era that made such good old Sonic games for the Mega Drive come to life and become gems easily recommended till nowadays.
Oh, good!! Now, just reveal it SEGA! Because we have already know that Sonic Team is obviously working on a new game! Because were you @ E3? I didn't hear anything impacting! While you could have given us some hope for such beloved character anniversary!!!
C'mon, SEGA, you can do better when elevating some expectations on the hype side of life!
So you can tap a Samus amiibo in this game and play a port of the original Metroid Prime in stereoscopic 3D!!!!
Jesting apart, it may not hold well on the series standards, but here it is an effort to bring something different based upon an old and successful franchise to a new formula.
And its based on co-op and, as a 3DS gamer, I'm itching for a good co-op full of FPS action!
Hopefully this novelty will do better than the one called Codename STEAM!!!
Keeping an eye on it! Guacamelee was a quiet surprise and a worth platformer in the likes of metroidvania. This one here feels much more innovative and by the trailer its gameplay is going to suck you in as the mysteries of the game are revealed. Seems promising!
All seems very old rumours that have been all denied in the past year.
Also there is some guessing here, and one that may or may not makes sense - if you think in a certain way - is this unexpected and unnecessary Skyward Sword HD!
It only makes sense if the next Zelda won't be released in time for NX debut - and it could happen considering the size of this game and the scope of its gameplay.
So, this new Zelda is probably going to be delayed on the same fashion of OOT - just to deliver a groundbreaking gaming and engaging experience! Thus the SS HD should fill the void at the time of NX release, or maybe later on this console life (much like Majoras Mask 3D).
But thinking this way doesn't make any sense, because the world is hyped for the Breath of the Wild and this gotta be the next Zelda game and at the same time NX is released, period!
Also, who knows if the NX have motion controls?? Maybe Ubisoft knows...
Now I'm 200% hyped for this game!!
Still needs to close the neutral path, even after 230 hours of gameplay!
Yep, I enjoy hunting demos, contracting them and fusing to perfection, all thanks to the flashy combat system. And there's still some secrets demons do discover, some are too well hidden!!!
It will be another good time with apocalypse in Tokyo. Hopefully this time they'll reveal some plot obscurities for a fan sake of knowing better what is going on behind the scenes.
It still bugs me why Atlus is not giving this game the same level of attention Persona 5 has!! It's one of the best RPGs in recent gaming, an old formula mastered and full of personality.
Maybe it is because it doesn't have the same popular anime appeal as Persona, but both games gets dark on their themes and involves the schemes of humans, demons and gods for humanity - something that is never the bright side of life in both series.
On Nintendo E3 site it is scheduled as a action/adventure/RPG debut gameplay.
So its is more likely to be Monster Hunter Stories, isn't it??
Although I am in hope of something completely new and unannounced as a world wide debut instead of a western localization of a game never seen here before!
3- Anyone is entitled with their very own opinion - political, cultural, expectations and experiences as a consumer, and we all here are consumers wanting to buy a game that we will have fun with! If anything bothers us and makes us not want nor enjoy it, is our right to not be interest anymore. Please, people, respect this essential rule of life!
Reading almost all the comments here makes me ponder about some questions here:
1- A heroine will, for sure, be important since the own company dedicated a moment of silence in its presentation to the victims of hatred this weekend at Orlando. The matter here is about diversity, and Reggie confirmed how important it is.
It may not be a matter of full customizable with gender, race, skin, hair face and whatever feature it allows to opt, but at least start including as a mais playable character, or the heroine, a woman or girl - it is a first step in the way of bringing those who are not well represented as main characters to the front, so I think the Zelda series fits this idea pretty well because here it is the princess as a possible heroine for 30 years!
And, IMO she may have a different quest from Link, but one that could still involves the Triforce or fighting a great evil. Things that Link and Zelda always do since the beginning, but she never had her quest!
2- Some defend the keeping of a male Link only as the right choice to not change the standart of a successful series for whatever reason it could be harmful. But here is the game that is defying the standarts of the series! And I sincerely hope it won't stop to change for the sake of creativity, diversity and new experiences with the painstakingly care Nintendo has with the fun.
Must say I am disappointed about not having a playable heroine in the final product, but far from destroying my expectations with this game that looks awesome and has such giant scope in landscape and gameplay, it is bigger than anything else Nintendo have already made - as told by Reggie.
And Link still being Link and the same story being retold is just fine, the quality Zelda games are timeless!
One more thing: I really hope to have a heroine as a main in a future release, and Zelda itself would be great and a game changer, so the question Aonuma proposed "...if we have Princess Zelda as the main character who fights, then what is Link going to do?" is about the team to answer in a awesome, epic way that only a Zelda game can do!!
My hopes are still high that in the future they will bring such heroine!!
I have been away from farm sims for too many years, so I gave it I try when it came to discount during the spring sale a couple of weeks ago - and because it is created by the real HM team in Japan, before Natsume took over the name to make a different game that is ruining the series pedigree.
I really enjoyed the experience! It has a good feeling of growing town as you grow your friendships, family and farm - and it is quite rewarding when you realise your experience with the game has also grown.
The characters, most of them, are lovely and heartwarming, although there is some annoying types - but it seems to go with the players preferences.
The farming is also more dynamic and intelligent, but it needs planning if you want get the best of it - it is essentially the traditional farm sim mechanic a little more diverse and a little more well paced.
But there is one problem, that is kind of expected, with the slow paced evolution of everything.
Although there is never a dull moment thanks to the great content and things to do, so the day soon ends and there will be other thing for the next day.
Just hope in this new game all three towns are available from the beggining, them we may have more content and diversity from the start, kind of solving the slow evolution and growth that commits farm sims. And also a more engaging multiplayer, one that people does not abandon after a couple of months from the release.
I'm just thinking about the consumer side when these always online and micro transitional games goes to shut down, and I can only think one thing: It is terrible. Don't know if this game was good, worth of some play or a flop, and I'm worried what those who spent money on this will grab after the game goes away. And this worry may apply to other games who follows the same profit logic. It may be healthy for the brand and its marketing to shut down a game that doesn't contribute to expand it, although it may be horrible for those who spent money on such game. The profit is done for the company, even if it was less than expected and the consumer who spent money will take the damage for no longer being able to play it? In the end I just think if the consumers who spent real cash are also worried about these questions.
What a nice surprise here with this retro gem review! A game that deserves a lot of attention, to this day either.
I played it a lot on the PS1 back in those days and, although I have never came to finish the game, I had spend tons of ours and almost lost with battling and customizing!
A well deserved score and review!
Thank you, Shiryu!!!
And since Square Enix is porting lots of games to PC, it got me hyped for a future release of the PSP version, along with a future port of FF Tactics War of the Lion!!
Wow!! So it comes the time when parallel universe can actually happen in this universe and this time in 20XX!! What else can imagination and a labour of love bring to us?
I loved the pixel art, specially how rich the pallete was created! Many coloring shades and some pretty nice depth effect with simple and detailed touches! Quite impressive!
Overall it really makes me think how things in world of gaming cold be if it actually happened in this universe!
It makes me feel like it is, once again, a good time to have one of the 3DS family! Just like I've felt in 2013! Specially with the silent fall of Wii U, it seems the 3DS is, in someway, coming back to its former relevance... at least by the merchandising!
And I really loved the new slogan! It's kind of inspiring to play more Nintendo games!
I really liked the new legendary!! Well designed from the sun and moon inspirations, it also shows powerful personality and respect!
And the owl, omg, it's so cute!! And an owl that is more cute than the kitten one!
Surprisingly nice news such possibility, buy it could be a New3DS exclusive. Anyway, I would love to play it on the smaller screen and the very responsive controls of the 3DS as it reminds me of the really competent OlliOlli port. Also SMB could attract more attention to the aging handheld. It seems Nintendo is getting serious about the potencial still asking to come out of their, IMO, last dedicated handheld.
Well, not a big surprise since it has been predicted it could be released at the initial months of 2017 - before the end of the fiscal year, but still disappointing for a Nintendo fan and worst of all no E3 appearance.
It may makes sense when the time for E3 comes. Maybe they will use the expo to meet and talk to the developers and publishers about what could be NX in terms of numbers, concept and capabilities - or even bring development kits - to gain more support. It would work like a slow person to person marketing that may become bigger and bigger even after the console release to keep up a good number of games releases during the initial years, avoiding the scarce releases faced by 3DS and WiiU, or even the recent generation when compared to past consoles.
@Spiders
I really hope so!! There's is some arcady games doing some buzz on steam that I see as a positive trend that will hit harder soon.
Another thing that makes me optimistic is the recent and exclusive release of some NeoGeo classics perfectly emulated on the Humble Bundle. They have released these games as a exclusive bundle by the beginning of this year. Don't know how well or bad it sold, but it certainly got me confident and hyped fo the future of SNK.
There's also the lovelies Metal Slugs on steam released for a while that me and some dudes play online and is a refreshing fun after a hard day of work!
I'm still dreaming the day they bring Neo Geo classics to the 3DS VC. It would be great to play Metal Slug and some Samurai Shodown on the handheld!
I hope the new owners may carry on the legacy quite well and even bring on some new games for others franchises beyond KOF. I actually feel there's is a big gamer itchy going on that is all about bringing back the arcade feel in some old school style games. And SNK can do it with mastery. At least we hope so!
I was expecting this announcement to be late this year, so I am happy to know that will come really soon!!
I absolutely enjoyed this first SMTIV, so I am hyped about this one, specially after seeing some gameplay that indicates it may fill some plot holes of the original and build a much more lively and interesting world that pulsating post apocalyptic Tokyo deserves. And, please, fix some of the needless repetition after the first play trough in the subsequent new game plus.
Then certainly we will have a big essential on the stellar 3DS RPG gallery!!
@Kirk Hi, Kirk! Did you have the chance to play this game? Actually I haven't and probably will not play it. I am asking because I am curious to know how bad this control scheme is. Is it really like you said that you can't even shoot where you want? I agree with the comparison between the first and last game in the series. But the first Star Fox seems so far away that the developers ( or should I say just Miyamoto) probably wanted to evolve the controls and they only had a WiiU gamepad to create a new thing. And this is also a big problem, as the article shows us. Yet I still want to see how this games will go for the critics and the sales. As many people here are talking about how fine the new control scheme can perform.
@Clownshoes Certainly the worst decision was to not give players another control option to enjoy the action. You don't need to really love it, but at least be something you can trust to control. It seems to not be the case with this game. It is sad to see such control feature and lack of option to ruin the interest in this game! As the article says: It is a sum of all the WiiU gamepad brought!
I see that innovation on WiiU is comming without the required simplicity that makes the gameplay engaging from the first moment you play it. A common trait in Nintendo platformers and other tittles on 3DS, for example.
I have played Star Fox for first time on the remake for 3DS and, actually, was kind upset since it took me hours of play to get used with that simple and kind rudimentary controls scheme - and with the gyro was worse! But the more I played, the more I mastered it. And soon the almost unobtainable medals came to my score. Gaming is also about facing this hardships, it may not make you love it form the beginning, but there is always a second sight love when the game has a pedigree.
This one is a new Star Fox and it deserves some hype and may also need some insistence to fully enjoy a great game!
Gender choice wiil be a great thing in many aspects and should be part of the game. And I think it should go beyond a Link/Linkle choice: you could create a non specific gender character with plenty of customization. Anyway, just an opinion above. The important is to bring some diversity so it will make us feel a much finer link as the main hero of the game and it's characterization. I personally noticed this when I saw my girlfriend playing ALBW. She was so involved into that world and gameplay that I had thought how cool it would be if that hero wasn't a boy, but instead could be any gender the player could choose. It was fine as a boy, but could be more engaging with a gender choice.

And what an original and climatic music that was.
Re: Sonic Runners, SEGA's Mobile Release by the Sonic Team, is Getting Shut Down
I'm just thinking about the consumer side when these always online and micro transitional games goes to shut down, and I can only think one thing: It is terrible.
Re: Review: Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together (SNES)
What a nice surprise here with this retro gem review! A game that deserves a lot of attention, to this day either.
I played it a lot on the PS1 back in those days and, although I have never came to finish the game, I had spend tons of ours and almost lost with battling and customizing!
A well deserved score and review!
Thank you, Shiryu!!!
And since Square Enix is porting lots of games to PC, it got me hyped for a future release of the PSP version, along with a future port of FF Tactics War of the Lion!!
Re: Art: Meet The Famicube, The NES Successor That Only Exists In A Parallel Universe
Re: Nintendo of America Has a Snazzy New Slogan - "There's No Play Like It"
It makes me feel like it is, once again, a good time to have one of the 3DS family! Just like I've felt in 2013! Specially with the silent fall of Wii U, it seems the 3DS is, in someway, coming back to its former relevance... at least by the merchandising!
And I really loved the new slogan! It's kind of inspiring to play more Nintendo games!
Re: Gallery: Take a Closer Look at the Pokémon Sun and Moon Box Art and Starter Pokémon
I really liked the new legendary!! Well designed from the sun and moon inspirations, it also shows powerful personality and respect!
And the owl, omg, it's so cute!! And an owl that is more cute than the kitten one!
Re: Mega Man Finally Arrives on Nintendo Badge Arcade
@Moon Lol!! And I'm using the screw attack symbol from Metroid in my SEGA folder, at least it is a blast processing S!!
Re: Mega Man Finally Arrives on Nintendo Badge Arcade
@Moon Same question here! When we will have SEGA badges to put near those beautiful 3D remaster gems???
Re: Super Meat Boy Arrives on the Wii U eShop on 12th May
Surprisingly nice news such possibility, buy it could be a New3DS exclusive.
Re: Square Enix Is Resurrecting A Classic Super Famicom RPG On Mobile Phones
Kudos for Square Enix! Hope this will soon come to PC - just like some other titles of them, specially the Final Fantasy series.
Re: Nintendo NX Will Be Launched Globally in March 2017
Re: SNK Playmore Rebrands As Plain Old SNK
@Spiders
Re: SNK Playmore Rebrands As Plain Old SNK
I'm still dreaming the day they bring Neo Geo classics to the 3DS VC. It would be great to play Metal Slug and some Samurai Shodown on the handheld!
I hope the new owners may carry on the legacy quite well and even bring on some new games for others franchises beyond KOF.
I actually feel there's is a big gamer itchy going on that is all about bringing back the arcade feel in some old school style games. And SNK can do it with mastery. At least we hope so!

Re: Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse Will Bring End Times to 3DS in the Americas This Summer
Re: Talking Point: The Great Star Fox Zero Controls Debate Highlights Important Lessons
@Kirk
Hi, Kirk!
Re: Talking Point: The Great Star Fox Zero Controls Debate Highlights Important Lessons
Re: Talking Point: The Great Star Fox Zero Controls Debate Highlights Important Lessons
Re: Random: A Bearded Man is an Unlikely Ally in Punch-Out!!
Thank you internet for spreading, and even discovering (looking at MK Ed Boon menus), such ancients secrets!!
Re: Rumour: More Claims Made For New Legend of Zelda on Wii U and NX, Gender Choice For Playable Character
