Total lame decision! It's a more agreessive bussiness than the DLC musics actually being sold on the eShop for the TRFF. Seems like Square Enix are testing the vicious microtransactions of its mobile games on 3DS. On a 3DS we pay a full price game, not a couple of dollars, so I see no reason to experience microtransactions with real money. Why not use the playcoins, like many games do and make it fun, instead? Good luck to them, since I hope 3DS players won't support this easy money maker on their handhelds!
Back in the later days of GBA we had game packs featuring nice combos, like both Castlevanias for the portable in one cartridge, with a great value!
Hope this idea spreads to DS catalogue. It would be very nice to (re)play classics with a great value (it means not expensive as the original release)!
It could also attract new owners of 3DS to play (not so) old classics they possibly missed.
Wasn't the Wii a new generation when it was released? Wasn't it much less powerful than the 360 and PS3? Yes and yes! I think the same answer can be used to say the Wii U is definitely a new generation. But Sony and Microsoft with their consumer base and lazy developers won't admit. I believe this is a strategy to diminish Wii U impact making Nintendo selling less units while the gamer wait for Sony and Microsoft next console as the "oficial" next-gen, even they are not so innovative but full of power. CPU and GPU power beefed-up is the idea of Sony and Microsoft for the next-gen. While Nintendo may have a different approach with the Wii U just like the company had a diferent idea fo the original Wii. And both Nintendo realeases were new generation consles, period!
It is some lazy developers that are "horrible, slow"! Explore the strongest points and be creativy about theweakest points of a console! Be smart, clever and understand the platafiorm you are working with, instead of babbling about "horrible, slow CPU"!
FINALLY! A serious argument about piracy, low sales and the MOST important that is usually ignored: gaming value and price in countries with abysmal salaries!
Thanks, Hugo Smits for leveling up this discussion beyond ranting developers!

Fair price and format (the digital one) for this kind of game! Kudos for Capcom!
