Re: Obsidian's RPG Pillars Of Eternity II: Deadfire Appears To Have Been Cancelled For Switch

edusoares

@Stocksy people use the witcher 3 quite a lot to say switch can handle games and forget the witcher 3 is a 2015 game.

Fifa 18 for switch was basicall PS4 Fifa 16 port.

Every other newer game like Resident Evil 7 comes with an cloud version attached to the end of the title.

Zelda Breath of the Wild runs at 30fps, Mario 3D World bowsers fury can only run at 60fps at docked mode, in portable it's 30.

"you don't like the switch don't come here"

The point isn't liking it, this is a fact, switch has weaker hardware.

The problem is nintendo mentality that they don't need to talk with third parties when making new hardware. Both Microsoft and Sony goes to developers when they are creating new hardware to know what they needs are, how they can create a machine where developers can make their vision come true. Nintendo don't do that. They only do as they please, and then people call the devs lazy because they can't or don't want spend tons of money and time to make a game run on switch properly. Its not an automatic process it takes lots of effort.

If we like Nintendo to have better third party support we should make nintendo listen to them, and not bash every single dev that can't port a game for switch. We can't pretend every developer is lazy just to justify Nintendo's lack of interest on third parties.

Re: Don't Panic, Valve Has Already Resolved Steam Deck's Supposed Switch-Like "Drift" Issues

edusoares

@progx Xbox and PS controller are not even close to the number of drift issues compared to joycons , also, it take years for a problem like this happend on an Xbox controller, joycons it happend in a couple months. It is normal analog sticks will have problems over time, but not that fast and not in the general scale it happens with switch joycons.

It's possible to have a Xbox or PS4 falty in couple months? Sure. But just look at the quantity of issues involving this and compare to joycons numbers and you have an answer why people complain about joycons issues and not the other two.

Re: Sorry, Switch Owners Won't Be Getting Cross-Play For FIFA 23

edusoares

There is a simple reason why EA does that, it's not because of origin on Wii U, or hate for Nintendo. It's simply hardware limitation. Switch is just not powerful enough to have the next-gen FIFA experience. FIFA 18 for switch was in fact the same as FIFA 16 on PS4.

Problems with third party games happend with nintendo platforms because nintendo don't give a thing about third party. It's the only company of the big 3 that don't talk with third parties about their hardware early on to get inputs on what they artists and developers need to have their games on the console. Developers talk about those things with Sony and Microsoft so they can build the tech that developers can use to make their projects come true. Nintendo only cares about their first party line-up, and so, the hardware is made for their needs only, and when things like that happen, people blame EA, Activision, the whole world but Nintendo.

I'm not here defending EA, they're not saints, they have some good games, but have a couple of bad pratices in the industry, but in this situation and considering nintendo relationship with third parties, I just can't blame them.

Re: Potential Switch Port Round-Up - The Wii U Games That Haven't Come To Switch

edusoares

@BulbasaurusRex I don't think architecture is a issue. Wii U emulator runs on x86 PCs despite Wii U using PowerPC.

Also, Xbox 360 was Power PC and Xbox One is X86, and again, Microsoft manged to have full Xbox 360 emulation support on Xbox One. One generation of difference and different architectures, same with Wii U / Switch. Nintendo not doing it because they want to sell ports, but it would be a good thing if they did.

Re: US Government Wants Nintendo Hacker Gary Bowser Locked Up For Five Years

edusoares

I don't think this makes any sense. He did create the device that allowed switch to be pirated, he didn't pirate games for the switch himself.

It's the same thing with creator of R4 cartridges for the NDS. The pirate is not the creator or the seller, it's people who purchase it to use on NDS consoles to play pirated games.

nstead of losing time with this, nintendo should hurry to fix their consoles that are always the first to be jailbroken because they invest nothing in security.

DS , 3DS, GameCube, Wii, Wii U and Switch, all jailbroken. Nintendo should do a better job securing their devices and they wouldn't need to loose time with this.

Re: Soapbox: Pokémon Legends: Arceus Raises The Question - How Much Do Janky Graphics Matter?

edusoares

I agree that gameplay is more important than graphics, but this shouldn't be used as an excuse for bad graphics in games we know could be better. I'm sure Pokemon Legends is a great game, but we all know nintendo has more than enough money from the franchise to make pokemon better, and from the experience with BOTW and other third party titles (The Witcher 3, Fenyx Rising, Monster Hunter Stories) on the switch we also know the hardware is more than capable of render really good graphics. I'm not saying Pokemon Legends is bad, I'll probably get it, but, yes, the graphics could be better and they're not simply because nintendo don't want to spend money so they will profit more with the game.

edusoares

"Embarrassing and highly repetitive audio that you'll likely want to turn down if you don't have headphones"

I am pretty sure people who bough this game don't mind it tho. I don't even know how this could be a bad point. "This game is bad, because it's audio embarrasses me" don't sound like something that should affect scores.

Re: Microsoft Was Simply Exploring "Every Angle" When It Approached Nintendo About A Buyout

edusoares

@ThanosReXXX the original team not being in the company anymore doesn't mean it is dead. They made rare what it is, yes, but there are lots of talented people in the estudio that can go forward with the idea of the company. It's not like every nintendo first party studio has the same team it was 20, 30 years ago. There are some people there all this time, but there are lots of new people too and lots of people left the company through the years. That's how gaming industry works, every year lots of developers leave studios for new opportunities. Last year alone there were lots of naughty dog and santa monica developers who left the studio to go to The Initiative and even to Google Stadia, Rod Ferguson left The Coalition to Blizzard, that's simply how it works.

Re: Microsoft Was Simply Exploring "Every Angle" When It Approached Nintendo About A Buyout

edusoares

I saw a lot of coments saying Microsoft killed Rare, but I don't know. Sea of thieves looks pretty much alive to this day. Millions of players across all platforms, high steam sales, just received new content this month and support is great. This is far from what a dead company can do.

People usually talk about Rare being dead because they don't work on their old IPs, but that's not on Microsoft. Rare don't want to work on those IPs anymore, biggest proof of this is that Microsoft founded a new studio and they are working on Perfect Dark. Rare wanted to make something new, and Microsoft allowed them, that's sea of thieves, a Rare successful passion project.

Re: Talking Point: Jargon-Heavy Xbox Series X And PS5 Reveals Vindicate Nintendo's Approach

edusoares

I don't think power should be set aside by Nintendo. The lack of power on nintendo consoles are the reason a lot of people have switch as a secondary console only to play Nintendo Games, since the hardware can't handle most third party games or have custom versions made for it, like FIFA. If Nintendo released a powerful console, not only on par in raw power, but on par with processor architecture, and OS features, like achievements for instance, would allow nintendo to make a console that wouldn't need a second one for multiplatform purposes and would capitalize from third party games as well from people that today give their money do Sony and MS for this third party experience.

Re: Rumoured Switch Pro Might Not Actually Use Nvidia's Tegra X1+ Chip

edusoares

@poudigne

"Where to start? Cause it's Nintendo and they don't need it to be successful."

They need a good hardware to keep third party support, you know what happens with console without third party support?! Wii U is what happens.

"Cause Nintendo never competed against Xbox and PlayStation and they don't care about them."

Not because they don't want but because they can't currently. Nintendo competed strongly with Sega in the past and with Playstation through N64 and Game Cube era. Lot's of switch owners also have a PS or Xbox, because unless you don't like third party games you can't be a nintendo only owner.

"Cause it's a portable device and battery life, weight and size are a huge factor."

As I said in other comments, I expected the 'pro' to be a desktop only console, not a portable or hybrid.

Cause ATM the console can't even output steady 1080p@60fps without massive graphics drop.
"That problem is solved with a desktop only powerful console"

Cause Nintendo don't and won't sell their console at a lost, i'm not sure how successful it would be to buy a Switch at 800$.
"Last I remember sony said they profit of every PS and Phil Spencer said that Xbox One X doesn't it's neutral(doesn't give profit or loss). But even considering a console sold at a loss, hardware don't make the big money for companies, the games do"
It's simple:

1 - Nintendo makes more powerful console
2 - Third party go all in with the powerful console
3 - People who have Nintendo for exclusives and PS or Xbox for the sake of multiplatform would be a nintendo only owner and spend their money on eshop instead of PS or XB store maximizing nintendo profit.

Nintendo needs a console where the fans doesn't need to beg developers for game ports.

Re: Rumoured Switch Pro Might Not Actually Use Nvidia's Tegra X1+ Chip

edusoares

@NINtendo242 I was expecting a desktop only 4K capable game console. They have a Hybrid, a portable, they can release a desktop only switch version. Most people I know that have or had a switch (including me) just play switch one way! Or they played 99% of time on portable or 99% of time on TV. I used switch portable funcionality only in the month of release, after that was TV + Pro controller Only. I would be more than satisfied with a desktop only powerful switch console that could play BOTW in 4K 60 fps.

Re: Rumoured Switch Pro Might Not Actually Use Nvidia's Tegra X1+ Chip

edusoares

@Moistnado @Edu23XWiiU Sure. But Nintendo had two consoles. A desktop (Wii U) and 3DS (portable). Despite of what Nintendo says they treat switch as a portable device (just look at switch lite), so they can claim switch is a 3ds successor and the new desktop more powerful console the real wii u successor. By the way, Wii U was released 1 year before Xbox One and PS4, they could start a next gen easily at holiday 2020 without any issue. Switch was released 2017, that's 6 years after 3DS release, it's the general console generation, 6 to 7 years.

Re: Poll: What Features Would You Want In A Switch 'Pro'?

edusoares

I would love to have a 4K, more powerful, desktop only switch! Then they update breath of the wild to play at 4K60 would be great! Nintendo already has a hybrid switch device, a portable only switch device, now they need a all powerful device desktop only!

Re: Analysts Agree That Switch Will Be King In 2020, Less Sure About The Switch Pro

edusoares

That is the safest bet ever. The new Xbox and Playstation will be out only at the end of 2020. That means lots of people will hold to buy the next gen console or even wait the release of the new console for a price drop on current gen. So the obvious choice that wont be obsolete in 1 year is? Switch of course. 2021 will be another story though, and won't look good for Nintendo without a new powerful hardware, even if its not hybrid.

Re: Talking Point: What's Happened To Switch's NES And SNES Games, Nintendo?

edusoares

@Dm9982 I already stood with nintendo on this matter, but they can't keep this way anymore. It has been more than a full year since launch and NSO didn't have any major upgrades. Nintendo is stuck with its online service. There are still no achievments or leaderboards, no default option for voice chat without the damn app. They are not evolving NSO and Nintendo needs to do something ASAP. I get that Nintendo likes to do things differently, but let that alone for games and consoles, not for online infrastructure, this should be the industry standard, that is far ahead. They should make it better so they can keep it up with their rivals. They need to get back to the bussiness as a first choice console, not as a secondary machine for PS4 and Xbox users.

Re: Blizzard Cancels Overwatch Switch Launch Event, Leaves Nintendo To Apologise On Its Behalf

edusoares

@sanderev I didn't say Overwatch is a bad game, It was in my wishlist too. But gaming companies shouldn't be dictating politics to its players, that's why I am not buying it. what cancel culture? Cancel culture is what some SJW do with some people without any substantial proof, spreading irresponsible lies about someone based on nothing. What I am saying here is based on facts. There is nothing wrong in Blizzard business decisions connected with tencent, but when companies start to impose their political views to its players, censoring and punishing them for simply expose their desire for a better place to live it becomes a issue.

If the companies you listed go in the same route I will gladly boycott them as well. Anyway, I'm not a big fan of the companies you listed anyway, besides nintendo, although I'm currently on Xbox Only.

Re: Disgruntled Gamers Are Review-Bombing Astral Chain On Metacritic

edusoares

Most of them are PS4 fanboys, that are hurt because it's a switch exclusive. Some profiles I checked where giving 10 to every PS4 game and 0 to Xbox and Switch exclusives by no reason. Most of them are PS4 fans. I find some Xbox users, but they were minority on the review bomb.

PS community is the worst in my opinion, one of the reasons I sold my PS4 and keep my Xbox alongside my switch.

I don't want to generalize but on Metacritic they are the worst.

Re: EA Reminds Switch Owners The FIFA 20 Legacy Edition Won't Include Volta Football

edusoares

I have an Xbox One too alongside my switch, but honestly, with their stupid attitude I won't be getting FIFA 20 in any platform at all. I like soccer games, so I'll go with PES 20 on Xbox instead.

I was always supportive of EA games even when people criticized them. I even enjoy Anthem that looks like everyone else hated, but is hard to support a company when they get your support and put in the trash can.

Re: Game Freak Prefers To "Implement New Things Fairly Gradually" In Pokémon

edusoares

@SakuraHaruka That could be explained with Nintendo financially supporting the game in exchange for the IP shares. Also if game freak had the bigger share of the IP they could easily make Pokémon multiplatform to max profits and Nintendo couldn't stop them. They didn't disclose those information publicly but we can guess by those decisions that Nintendo have shares enough to make decisions as they guaranteed the exclusivity for all those years.

Re: Game Freak Prefers To "Implement New Things Fairly Gradually" In Pokémon

edusoares

@SakuraHaruka Pokemon rights are split between Game Freak, Nintendo and Creatures inc. But Nintendo owns the Pokémon trademark alone. So with the trademark Nintendo could move Pokémon to any studio they want. Game freak could still develop a game with the same mechanics but they wouldn't be allowed to use the name Pokémon for the title or Pikachu for a character for example. As Pokémon characters, logo a etc are solely owned by Nintendo.

Re: Sony Doesn't See Nintendo As A Major Rival, More Worried About Microsoft Next Generation

edusoares

@Lord Microsoft actually confirmed scarlet specs, that is 4x times more powerful than the Xbox One X and also confirmed it will have a disk drive. It will have both, native games that support up to 8K resolution and starting October on Xbox one and carry on to scarlet is a service that allows you to use your own Xbox console as a server to stream your games anywhere. There is also xcloud, but so far, according to Microsoft, those streaming services will be complementary and Xbox will not go anywhere.
