I don't you really can make the GamePad fully compatible with Wii games that way, since you'd have to re-program every game in the library.

Being finally able to play Wii games from the GamePad is obviously a huge feature. Haven't tested it yet but the games should look nice on the lower-resolution screen.

That doesn't mean it's only going to be about that. The April 17 Direct that revealed info on WiiU's spring update and Virtual Console was said to be for 3DS only.

I'm sorry, but what?! Why would you delay it for Europe but keep the NA release date as it is? Makes no sense to me.

Good to hear that they're working on making the WiiU version as good as it can be at least. Hope both this and Watch Dogs turn out well on the system (I've just pre-ordered the latter so I really hope they know what they're doing).

EU release date for Mario, Zelda and Donkey Kong plus details on the update is all I need, but a nice surprise would be welcome.

Guys, this maintenance isn't going to do anything but fix the servers and stuff. If it's related to the upcoming system update then it's only to lay the groundwork.

I can't see these selling all too well seeing how they won't include the actual games they're representing. You can even save money by just buying a 3DS XL with a regular colour scheme since they often sell for a bit less than that.

Plus they have to market both games and systems nationwide. $82 million yearly for all that don't even sound like much compared to how Microsoft spent $500 million to market the Kinect alone.

Everyone goes on about F-Zero and Star Fox while I sit here wondering about that new franchise of his.

Either give us the online multiplayer you sorely took away from us or lower the retail price for the WiiU version and we have a deal.

We're not using it as a means to rule out a 3DS conversion, we're just saying that Origins on 3DS was no way near as good as it's console/Vita counterparts.

From the demo I've played the 3DS version of Origins seems rather mediocre, so I think Legends is best left as it is.

Good to hear that the WiiU version sells the best, but it's not doing so well on either PS3 or 360 so it's not that big of an accomplishment. If they ever get around to making a sequel I hope WiiU is at the forefront again, maybe as an exclusive this time?

WiiU should see a small surge with WWHD releasing in Japan tomorrow, and 3DS is two weeks away from another sales explosion. Good times.

You must not have been around Sonic fan forums when it was announced as Nintendo exclusive.

Good to know that Ubisoft will still give DLC support.

But before I'd consider buying the game I think they should fix the loading times and server issues that are apparently plauging the WiiU version.

My WiiU has frozen twice as far as I can recall. Once when it got stuck between menus, and once with Street U. Never during any game I've played (Pikmin 3, Mario Bros U, Nintendo Land, ZombiU, Wondeful 101, Rayman Legends, Tekken Tag Tournament, Trine 2 and numerous VC titles).

MK8 looks stunning still, and for a game that's apparently hindered by the simultaneous development of a 3DS version Smash Bros.seems to make good use of the WiiU's graphical capabilities.

Over half the things you listed are programming errors (which occurs often when you're inexperienced with new hardware), not a fault in the hardware itself.

If you claim that the WiiU can do more than it's given credit for, I say you have to prove it Shin'en. Words can only take you so far.

Spring and Summer 2014 could also be pretty important with two atomic bombs known as Mario Kart 8 and Smash Bros. (if the latter is now targeting that timeframe).

I would've been let down regardless if Retro's first WiiU project was Metroid or Donkey Kong even though I love both series, because I foolishly bought into the rumours that they were rebooting StarTropics. -_-

Given that marketing of the WiiU has been next to non-existent I say it plays a part. Besides, now is as good a time as any to beef up the advertising, since the heavy-hitters are just around the corner.

As an anti-3D crusader I welcome that Nintendo might be moving away from 3D. The faster this pointless fad dies off the better.

He was known for being a rather strict businessman that wouldn't back down from a fight both internally and externally, but one can't deny that he brought much good fortune to the company.

For all the good (and bad) decisions he's made his leadership changed the face of the gaming industry forever.

Given SEGA's good relations with both Nintendo and Sony SMT and Persona should be safe on their respective systems.

I like GTA, if only to mess around, blowing stuff up and get into vehicular brawls with the police. GTAIV is especially hilarious with it's botched physics. The missions I don't care for, but that goes for pretty much every open world game I play.

I always thought it was a successful franchise for the freedom it gave the player to do whatever they wanted, not because of what people call "fake maturity" or the claim that it promotes voilence or misogyny (which it may or may not do but that's not my point).

Monster Hunter 3G sold about two million in it's lifetime. MH4 is apparently selling two million in four days. So in the end it'll sell far greater than that.

I'll just go ahead and predict that we'll see Mario Kart 8 and Smash Bros. bundles next year.

I mean, they'd be stupid not to make one of each.

Adelman doesn't take part in the decisions Nintendo make about matters like this (he earlier said that the whole region-locking thing was out of his reach) so he might not know everything that's going on behind closed doors.

But if unified accounts aren't coming with the next system update then it will probably take a while.

You probably won't see sharp turns this time around either since they want to accomodate people using the GamePad as a steering wheel (like the 3DS in MK7).

Everyone who feels that they were put off from TW101 due to the demo should know that the demo is nothing compared to the actual game. It gets really good from the first boss and onwards.

TP IMO is the most visually dated of the three. It could use a HD remaster.

If Wii owners aren't upgrading to the WiiU by will, you have to make them by force.

Nintendo likes to take their time. You don't know how many Gamecube games were originally concieved for N64.

Now I'm confused. They're happy to bring Child of Light to WiiU but nothing else?

The said that they were considering scaling back their WiiU support if their current line-up doesn't do well. They never said they were going to abandon it entirely.
