It's Wii U bundle rumour time, everyone! We all like juicy speculation based on retailers either breaking an embargo or making products up, and courtesy of Twitter user Oisin1001 more information on potential Wii U releases has been spilled; both are reportedly from a Smyth's Toys catalogue, which is a retailer in Ireland.
First up we have a potential bundle which would include New Super Mario Bros. U and New Super Luigi U, with a release window of November. Photographic evidence is available below, to ease those deadly doubts.
Also in the same catalogue is a listing for Wii Fit U, which has recently been confirmed as a Holiday release; once again its listing is for November.
So, what do you think of this hardware bundle rumour? Would that be a good bundle? Has the retailer got it right? Sound off in the comments below.

Both bundles make sense, especially the New Super Mario Bros. U + Luigi U one.
I think there should be a Zelda bundle... Oh wait thereis... How about a mario one.... Now there is as well. There should be a a bundle for all the big hits
Another excellent bundle. If people who don't have a Wii u don't pick this up, I don't know what's wrong with them.
Well, yea...that have to push as hard as they can this holiday.
I live by a Smyths in Ireland, I want to go get a catalogue and check this.
One thing I noticed though, on the final picture is shows a pic of DK and it says out in November. Just wanted to point that out. Other than that I'm probably the only person in the world excited for Wii Fit U (which is a horrible name) and I'm glad there is a mario bundle, even if its not Super Mario 3D World.
There should be a Super Mario 3D World bundle. Make it pre-installed digital to save costs on nintendo's end.
@yojo Yeah, we did slap the Rumour tag on this. Sometimes retailers are right, sometimes they guess
I'll wait for a MK8 bundle
I might get this one if it turns out real.
Bundles galore! That reminds me, I still have to get New Super Luigi U
i've been predicting these bundles for months. I think Nintendo will do pretty well this holiday season
Dem hardware bundles..
Definitely better than the current/standard Nintendo Land bundle.
This bundle looks really good. Throw in Nintendoland (maybe make them all download) and you hit a homerun! Come on Nintendo!!!!
Very interesting news. Nintendoland has been dropped and Wii U is now sold with the bundle that should have been there from the beginning.
I'd take the Mario bundle over the Zelda bundle.
I'll just go ahead and predict that we'll see Mario Kart 8 and Smash Bros. bundles next year.
I mean, they'd be stupid not to make one of each.
Takes me back to the Super NES days.....good times, good times...
Be alot better if it was a bundle with 3D World. But if the Rumor is true than that would really sell WII U's especially if they included 2 Wii remotes with it
@BossBattles that's a given and how about a green wii u with the luigi hat logo and a game pad with mini pics of him running jumping and sucking up ghosts? It would sell great. Even better if they gave a code for the original luigis mansion for gc, it would be a perfect way to launch the gc games for the virtual console, one can only dream.... No pun intended
NSMBU + NSBLU Makes sense, add in the Wind Waker bundle and that should get consoles moving off shelves.
I think that NSMBU has sold over 2M copies? That's just over half the Wii U install base?
Yay Ireland! Must go up to Smyths tomorrow and have a nose
I don't think they will do a bundle with 3d world at release/Xmas as it is a guaranteed seller on it's on. Maybe coming into the summer or something but NSMBU or NSLU bundles? Definitely, NSMBU will be on the market for a year the NSLU 6 months, so Ninty wouldn't loose much money on a bundle with them.
Donkey Kong bundle in November?
Finally some action from Nintendo: If this is true, the basic bundle and the Nintendo Land bundle are finally gone! For 300 euros/dollars the console plus Zelda Wind Waker HD or Mario U + Luigi U. That's a 160 euros/dollars gap between a PS4 plus 1 game (aprox. 460).
The other exclusives: Wii Party U, Scribblenauts Unmasked, Wii Fit U, Sonic Lost World, Mario 3D World, Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, Mario & Sonic at the Olympics, should do just fine on their own...maybe in the future a Wii Party U bundle like the Wii got a couple of years ago. Mario Kart 8 bundle should be a no brainer for Nintendo, they have to be aggresive this fall, winter and spring!
I would snap up the Mario one in a heartbeat, assuming it's available in my country.
if this is true, these are waaaaay better than the original nintendolame bundle
Nintendo is awesome, keep the specials coming!
Question? Are the bundles disc based or DLC based?
box art was announced MONTHS ago. saw it on nintendos site.
Let me recap;
Wii U price drop: ✔
Zelda WW HD bundle and limited edition:✔
Super Mario 3D World coming before "Black Friday":✔
Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze coming this December for $50:✔
And last but not least, this new bundle of NSMB+NSLU:✔
All of this sounds pretty good, well played Nintendo, well played.
This looks awesome, hopefully there will be some kind of black Friday sale so I might be able to get one for Christmas.
I'm not even about to get my hopes up, this sound to good to be true. If this is legit and I'm getting the mario bundle fore sure.
Now the question for me is should I buy the Legend of Zelda bundle, or wait until the Mario bundle comes out?
lookin forward to wii fit this winter
They better start doing something because I can't find a Splinter Cell or Wonderful 101 at any major store and I don't think it's because they are sold out.
Almost gave me a heart attack! I though it was a special edition Mario themed console for a second. Would have made me possibly reconsider the Zelda bundle.
Although, this still looks like a pretty amazing bundle. What would be $380 (don't know how much euros it would be) would acutally sell for $299.99, quite a deal, if it comes to North America. Considering it's Mario, I'm pretty sure it will
Good, solid bundles. Make more attractive bundles like MK8, SBWiiU and you've gotten a successful console already!
Id only buy Wii Fit U with Balance Board if it was black, already own a white one.
@WaveBoy Mighty No. 9 isn't scheduled until 2015, unfortunately.
So does this mean that there's a 3d world bundle and a pikmin 3 bundle as well? they have windwaker on number 3 and number 1 is also definitely a bundle.
Nintendo FTW. I wish there was some way to download the Wii Fit Meter digitally
when i bought the wii u (the day it came) i was told no mario bundle would be released... and now this!!! i would have waited for this bundle if i knew this... i have my old SNES mario bundle.... i collect this.. and my girlfriend collects Zelda... so this means we will buy two more damn consoles just to get the boxes
money.. away
and seeing all the games for PS4 and Xbox one... does not make me happier :/
it makes the most sense to make a mario 3d world bundle...as that's the game they were hyping the most at e3. No better way to bring it into living rooms than as a pack-in game. Nintendo always did well with a Mario Bundle (SMB, SMW, SMAS, SM64...) anyway.
@micronean
yeah.. and they should have made the mario bundle from the beginning...
@micronean SM64 did not do as well as the 2D Mario games. There's no reason to expect 3D World to do as well as New SMB U + New Luigi U. This is a much better bundle than one with 3D World would be.
@WaveBoy
I heard some rumors about Capcom going bankrupt, if this is true they may be selling some of their franchises to other companies. And if this does happen, I really hope they give Mega Man to Nintendo so we can have a REAL VIDEO GAME, not a BOARD game, of Mega Man.
By the way, I went in to the kickaster page (Mighty No. 9) and it said that the game may be coming out in spring 2015😥
Fingers crossed for a good Xmas- the £249 price point is bringing it into the realms of the fabled £179 for the original Wii. It would be a clever move to bundle a remote and nunchuk with it as well though...save any confusion about what contrallers can be used...
As long as the mario bundle's games are in physical form, count me in.
It's a decent enough bundle.
Hopefully they also have a Super Mario 3D World bundle around Christmas time too though, as that would be a much more compelling bundle for a lot of people I would think, instead of this being their only Mario bundle.
A NSMBU bundle was a much needed bundle.
@Gerbwmu The Wii U is in deep deep trouble. Since publishers lose money when they overship physical boxes, they are trying to limit their risk... I think they figure since most Wii U owners are probably savvy enough to buy online, their customers who want the game bad enough will find a way.
I bet these two games will be on shelves everywhere in time for holiday shopping.
All of these should definitely help this Christmas. We'll see when we get there though...
This would good news. But for me, I still say NintendoLand was the right choice to show people what the Wii U does differently. NSMBU clearly has a bigger audience but it's safer, a known quantity. I appreciate that they took a risk and gave us something weird and new in NLand. (And awesome. So underrated, that game.)
I wish I had waited for my wii u, I would have loved this bundle. Oh well. I won't buy another Nntenndo on launch day, before I bought my one I said give it 6 months before you do, I didn't......
Shame there's nothing special about the hardware casing.
@mini-Z Good point!
@idork99
Why wait for a bundle? Enjoy the console now, buy Mario Kart 8 when it releases. If you're buying it anyways, now is better than later because you'll get 6+ months of extra enjoyment for the same price. That's how my thinking goes anyways.
@JaxonH That would be a great idea. The problem that I have is time. There's too little of it. And I have too many games to catch up on my 3DS plus the ones to come! That's why I can hold off until then
This would make me finally pick up a Wii U, as long as the price was $300. If they release it for Christmas they could sell a huge number of these.
