Re: Once Again, EA Angers Switch Fans By Falsely Advertising FIFA 19 Content

construx

I bought 18 and 19 and the gameplay is much better on Switch than on other consoles, thanks to the relative lack of the built-in cheating system which is plaguing FIFA games more and more.

Unfortunately, there are so many things missing from the Switch FUT that 19 will be the last FIFA game I buy if they don't add those features to the next game.

Bear in mind, I was done with the franchise on other consoles, after many years, before the Switch version came along and playing online became fun again.
Not because I lacked skill (I was an online Division 1 winner every year) or the proper team (I always had full-blue TOTY/TOTS teams) and it wasn't because I had to pay a lot for those players (I used the market and never paid any real money in-game).

It's because the game has been so rigged on other consoles for a long time, that it was an insult to any honest gamer.

This is why we can't have nice things!
Is this game a 6?
Okay, fine.
But then how on Earth is a 30MB, 2 dollars indie game where you push different colored balls (yeah, that's the entire game) an 8?!

It's like you compare apples with iPhones (or, you know, Apple)!

This review system seriously needs some adjustments - or at least a price section.

A 2 dollar indie game can be an 8.
In the 2 dollars category.

This game plays in a totally different ballpark.
So it's a 6 among the biggest players only.

Re: Sega Ages Line Struggling To Appeal In Japan, Interest Overseas Better Than Expected

I'm surprised those sell well in Europe.
I bought some Sega retro games for 3DS with 3D effect, much cheaper.
I'm not gonna buy them more expensive for the Switch, especially won't double dip.

If they will be much cheaper (you know, you can buy Xbox Classic games for Xbox One X with 4K treatment, like the old, good Star Wars games for only 990 HUF which is less than 4 USD), I'll think about it.
Until then, retro collections are fine for me.
Those old games aren't worth more than a couple of bucks today.

Re: Nintendo Adds Three More Games To The Switch Online NES Library Next Week

construx

I used to like retro.
But now I just want to bury the NES already to finally make way for the newer consoles on Switch!
I mean, even the Gamecube is retro now! But we will never see any of those games on the Switch if Nintendo puts them up this slow...!
Why?

Put them up now, you'd see a ton of money!
Put them up two years from now - nobody will care because people will wait for Switch 2!

Why are you doing this, Nintendo?
I honestly can't see any logic in that...

It's as if you go out of your way to somehow cripple your otherwise successful console!
This makes me really sad...

Re: Red Faction Guerrilla Re-Mars-tered Is Coming To Switch After All, THQ Nordic Confirms

Yeah, baby!
Any sandbox game is a welcome handheld addition on Switch - and this one is insanely fun with the destruction model (you can destruct any building to the ground)!
The gameplay is similar to FarCry or Just Cause games (liberate provinces one by one), the story is nothing to write home about - but the destruction model hasn't been surpassed since!

If you don't know what to do, just buy this game!

Re: Nintendo, Sony And Microsoft All Under Investigation Over Online Gaming Services

I don't even understand how 'Automatic renewal' is allowed to be the default option by law.
Not just on consoles but pretty much everywhere from Netflix to NFL Game Pass.
If a consumer decides to opt for renewal, he/she could do it by pressing a button somewhere in the app - but until then, it's not up to the corporations to charge people who may or may not be aware of said practice.

EU cookies law just made browsing more inconvenient (because literally nothing has changed but now unwanted messages pop up in our face every time) - but this decision should be made for the customers.

Re: Switch Accounts For Almost Half Of ToeJam & Earl: Back In The Groove's Early Sales

construx

Two reasons why:

1. The Nintendo Switch is the ultimate console. People want to play most games on it, not on other consoles.

2. Unfortunately, it lacks third party AAA titles. So people will have to do with countless indies which other console owners don't have to touch.

That being said, hopefully this is a great game worthy of being the successor of the 16-bit era original.

Re: Nintendo Hosts Huge Indie Sale In Europe With Up To 50% Off

construx

Yawn...
Considering the Switch could be the ultimate console, it's more and more disheartening to see the lack of third party AAA games.

Indie games should be a minority in a console's game offerings (as it is on the other two).
They're not system sellers.

Come on, Nintendo! We want the real games!

Re: Devil May Cry 5 Will Be Considered For Switch If Dragon's Dogma Sells Enough

construx

I'm sick and tired of this attitude from publishers.
The Nintendo Switch is not an experimental machine, it's a console which sold more units in its first 2 years than Xbox One or Playstation 4 did.
The average age of a console player is nearer to 40 than to 30 now.

So stop being condescending and make your game on the machine if you want or don't make it if you don't want.
I doubt you could pull the same attitude about making a PS4 game so don't do it here.

Thank you.

@wazlon : you know what that say about loudspeakers: the heavier, the better.
Even though technically it's not necessarily correct but it's still a good guideline.

I think the same way about video games. More data, richer game.

In case of a FMV game, I think a 1-2GB or smaller size would mean it's either too short or too ugly. 7GB still isn't a lot (a 90 minute Full HD Blu-ray movie has a size of 20-40GB depending on bitrate) but in Switch's terms, it's pretty decent.

Yeah, I have a hard time with memory cards, too.
I guess I'll just play those games that are on it and then delete them to make space for the new ones. (200GB got almost full in a couple of months...)

Re: Motorsport Manager Speeds Onto Switch This Month

construx

Without any licenses, for me it's meh - but the screenshots look at least decent.
I remember playing a F1 game on PC, like, 22 years ago, where you could also manage your team to some extent. That didn't look much worse - but I guess we have to be thankful for any game on Switch that doesn't want to look like an 8 bit retro one..

Management games are among my favorites, though, so if they'd release a demo where I'd have fun, I'd still consider buying this in spite of lacking licenses..

Re: Nintendo Download: 28th February (Europe)

Lego Movie 2 was almost unbearable to watch and I've never felt the 3D effects, either.

So the Lego Movie 2 game might be one of those very, very, very rare instances where the video game of a movie is actually better than the movie!

Re: Looks Like Assassin's Creed III Remastered Is Coming To Switch After All, According To Ubisoft's Website

construx

Oh for crying out loud, why do publishers have to treat Switch releases like they're so special?

"XYZ game will come out on PS4 and Xbox One.
BUT WILL IT COME FOR THE SWITCH??
Stay tuned for the next six months and we may just tell you!"

If Nintendo makes them do it, that just shows how few high profile games are on the machine.
Otherwise, why would it be anything special if a 5+ years old game gets released on the Switch while this, and even the next game in the series had already been published on the Wii U?

I would really like to see some newer AAA games, so at least Unity or Syndicate, if not Origins.
