Re: Publisher Acclaim Is Hosting Its Own Showcase Today

@Suketoudara I know, but showing off footage of Mortal Kombat and NBA Jam in the beginning and then following it up with these cheap looking indie games was a big disappointment.

Why buy the name if you're not going to do anything with the legacy? The SSX Tricky game and the basketball game had potential with a better graphical style. Make a Burnout game and call it Crashout or something.

@Sanangelo89 Yeah PS5 also has a storage problem. I don't have glass fibre internet yet, so installing 120GB takes a few hours.

I never said it's a Switch 2 issue, but the lack of storage is something that is keeping me from just purchasing more games at the moment. So that's entirely personal.

I also don't entirely hate Keycards. It's a better solution than code in a box, but I'd rather have a game on cartridge to save space. Yakuza 0 also took me 3 hours to install.

@Sanangelo89 Well, yes and no. I have about 4 or 5 games on my PS5 that I play that get erased when I'm done. Those are mostly big adventure games like God of War. But I also have about a dozen games that I just want to boot up whenever I feel like it. Comfort games like Tekken and NHL, that I regularly play for about half an hour.

The same goes for my Switch. Let's say 60% for games like Mario Kart World, that I can boot up whenever and 40% for games like Hogwarts that I just play for a few weeks or months and then get erased. I don't want half my memory wasted on one NBA game.

@SillyG That still requires a 59GB download

I really want to buy more Switch 2 games, but memory restrictions are really holding it back. I've got 512GB in my Switch 1 and that is more than enough. My Switch 2 has a 256GB microexpresssd (or whatever we are supposed to call that card). And that is more than 60% full with just Street Fighter 6, Yakuza 0 and Hogwarts.

Re: Former Assassin's Creed Lead Isn't Happy About Switch 2's Game-Key Cards

@WhiteUmbrella @SillyG For me Key Carts make sense for games like Call of Duty, Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8, which are constantly being updated. The base game on the cart would be obsolete in a few weeks time. I think what Capcom is doing with Street Fighter 6 is the right way to go. You get the full game with the season pass on a key cart. They save money on the cart and you pay less that you would if the full game was on a cartridge.

For something like Puyo Puyo Tetris 2S it makes no sense.

So Nintendo was on to something with the key carts, like @Makyurax says, you get a physical license for games that would otherwise never get a physical release. Or you could get a discount on a game that would otherwise be more expensive to produce.

To everyone abusing this system (I'm looking at you Sega!), just let them know by not buying the key carts.

Re: HORI Strikes Back With Limited Edition Street Fighter Arcade Sticks For Your Switch

@Ooccoo_Jr Yeah, I can't play Dead or Alive or Virtua Fighter with a pad. With all the P+K and P+G button combo's that are impossible to press with just one thumb. Also, you're just quicker with a stick. There is a bit of a learning curve using a fightstick, but in the end it really is worth it. Be sure to get a good stick though. Cheap sticks lead to frustration and less then perfect accuracy.
