@Suketoudara I know, but showing off footage of Mortal Kombat and NBA Jam in the beginning and then following it up with these cheap looking indie games was a big disappointment.
Why buy the name if you're not going to do anything with the legacy? The SSX Tricky game and the basketball game had potential with a better graphical style. Make a Burnout game and call it Crashout or something.
@Sanangelo89 Yeah PS5 also has a storage problem. I don't have glass fibre internet yet, so installing 120GB takes a few hours.
I never said it's a Switch 2 issue, but the lack of storage is something that is keeping me from just purchasing more games at the moment. So that's entirely personal.
I also don't entirely hate Keycards. It's a better solution than code in a box, but I'd rather have a game on cartridge to save space. Yakuza 0 also took me 3 hours to install.
@Sanangelo89 Well, yes and no. I have about 4 or 5 games on my PS5 that I play that get erased when I'm done. Those are mostly big adventure games like God of War. But I also have about a dozen games that I just want to boot up whenever I feel like it. Comfort games like Tekken and NHL, that I regularly play for about half an hour.
The same goes for my Switch. Let's say 60% for games like Mario Kart World, that I can boot up whenever and 40% for games like Hogwarts that I just play for a few weeks or months and then get erased. I don't want half my memory wasted on one NBA game.
I really want to buy more Switch 2 games, but memory restrictions are really holding it back. I've got 512GB in my Switch 1 and that is more than enough. My Switch 2 has a 256GB microexpresssd (or whatever we are supposed to call that card). And that is more than 60% full with just Street Fighter 6, Yakuza 0 and Hogwarts.
Oh great! The Switch 1 version was like 60GB last year, so this will probably be over 115GB. It will probably look fantastic, but my memory is too precious.
I really want to like this game, but the framerate is all over the place. The new options don't improve things much. There is now a locked framerate with a shorter draw distance, but that still feels sluggish.
@WhiteUmbrella @SillyG For me Key Carts make sense for games like Call of Duty, Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8, which are constantly being updated. The base game on the cart would be obsolete in a few weeks time. I think what Capcom is doing with Street Fighter 6 is the right way to go. You get the full game with the season pass on a key cart. They save money on the cart and you pay less that you would if the full game was on a cartridge.
For something like Puyo Puyo Tetris 2S it makes no sense.
So Nintendo was on to something with the key carts, like @Makyurax says, you get a physical license for games that would otherwise never get a physical release. Or you could get a discount on a game that would otherwise be more expensive to produce.
To everyone abusing this system (I'm looking at you Sega!), just let them know by not buying the key carts.
I’m not keen on the Key Cart idea, but honestly most games nowadays have so many updates that the 1.0 version on the cart is outdated by the time you buy it. Look at something like Mortal Kombat 1, No Man’s Sky or Ark. The version on the cart is useless because the latest version is so different.
I like the idea, but it feels a bit like 'you know what, lets just do retro, saves us doing a ton of animation frames.' It just looks a bit choppy. But the character designs are pretty cool.
The retail version was released two weeks ago over here and it plays great. I've had Mega Turrican crash on me once and somehow the roll buttons doesn't always work on Turrican I. But it's still version 1.0, so I hope they fix that.
I'm also missing Gameboy Turrican and the two C64 versions! (in addition to Super Turrican 2)
I played this so much on my C64. Not because it was such a great game, but because I paid for it with my own money. I actually wanted to buy Delta, but ZZAP! 64 gave it a mixed review. Regretted the decision after playing Galivan for a few hours.
@jump Yeah without the sandwich (which served no purpose in the whole commercial whatsoever) it would have been a way less creepy toy. He looks like Chucky with a different head.
@6ch6ris6 Yeah and after the latest update it keeps whining that I can't link it to my Epic Games account, because it's already linked to my epic games account, so I now I can't get past the SIGN IN screen.
@Toshiro_Baloney I didn't think too much of it. It's a pretty shallow experience and with all the blood flying around I found it frustrating to focus on the puck. It's a gimmick game that works best in short burst with two players. It's fun for about half an hour.
That Zipper Bunny DIY Recipe was worth 9.600 bells! Even after crafting all the bunny day items I could still craft about a dozen Zipper Bunnies. I sold all of them and all the Bunny day items for tonnnnnnnnnnns of bells!
It does have the worst UI font ever! The contrast makes it hard to ready anything. It's a cool game, but I felt I was running around looking for microscopic little switches more than I should have. Creature design is wicked though.
Yeah, played it and got a whole lot less excited. Framerate feels well below 30fps and the textures are horrible. On screen text (weapon overheating in particular) is hard to see in hand held mode. And it doesn't feel like Contra.
@JoeDiddley And the stupidest thing is, they have this whole area with arcade cabinets, that does absolutely nothing. So why build that in the first place if you have no intention of adding an arcade mode. Makes no sense to me.
@R-L-A-George You can use the Stick in portable mode. Just get a USB-A (female) to USB-C plug and stick the Switch on a Hori stand. Kinda weird to have a stick that is twice the size of the screen, but cool none-the-less.
@Ooccoo_Jr Yeah, I can't play Dead or Alive or Virtua Fighter with a pad. With all the P+K and P+G button combo's that are impossible to press with just one thumb. Also, you're just quicker with a stick. There is a bit of a learning curve using a fightstick, but in the end it really is worth it. Be sure to get a good stick though. Cheap sticks lead to frustration and less then perfect accuracy.

Does anyone know if you get the Deluxe Edition if you upgrade the Deluxe Edition on cart? Or is just the vanilla version available on Switch 2?

Re: Publisher Acclaim Is Hosting Its Own Showcase Today
That was horrible! The presentation itself was fantastic. Pity they only had these cheap looking mobile games to fill it with.
Non of these scream Acclaim to me. And the generic SSX Tricky Clone was perphaps the most disappointing.
Re: NBA 2K26 Shoots Some Hoops On Switch 2 In September
@progx Maybe they're testing the waters. These are both high profile titles and they want to see which option is best for future releases.

Re: NBA 2K26 Shoots Some Hoops On Switch 2 In September
@SillyG I thought 64GB is the maximum size for Switch 2 cards
Re: NBA 2K26 Shoots Some Hoops On Switch 2 "This Fall"
@SillyG That still requires a 59GB download

Re: Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics Updated To Version 2.0.1, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
@Emperor-Palpsy That's exactly what I was thinking. It looks horrible. And a game like pool is even lower res by the looks of it.
No idea why they dare to call this a Switch 2 upgrade.
