@westman98 @Joker1234 @Wexter @SpaceboyScreams Lol, I must have been really tired, was thinking of Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. I get the names confused 🤪
Other than the graphics being alright at best, this game seems to have a lot of charm that was removed with New Horizons. Granted I had my fun with New Horizons, but most of the music, the lack of previous features, etc prevented New Horizons from achieving the quaint feel of previous games.
I would say that overall, patches are not a bad thing, but nowadays large game companies use it as an excuse to launch unfinished games. They save a lot of money by launching it unfinished and having players do a good chunk of bug testing. What’s worse is that only the companies with money can get away with this as they’re the ones with the big ips that consumers will buy anyway.
I tried this game out, but I just could not play it anymore after the mimic fight. It was just so boring and slow. It takes forever to get anywhere and the platforming is so mundane. It’s not challenging or entertaining at all. To me it just felt like filler. Stretching out the story of the game; which I may mention, is almost nonexistent at the beginning. There is just a bunch of boring text. I’ve also been told that the story picks up later, but I don’t have the patience to get to that.
I actually really like that. Music is a bit lower quality, but it was going to be on the ds so that explains it. Also really cool how it makes use of the two screens
@Octane I wouldn’t call botw’s open world empty. Around every corner there are korocs, shrines, enemies, weapons, puzzles, armor, and beautiful landscape. Almost every inch of that map has effort put into by the devs. However if you mean that people think that botw’s map is empty because they’ve barely played it and then devs think it’s ok to only copy the openness without anything else, then you would be right.
@darkswabber Really!? That sucks. C418’s music is perfect for Minecraft. And every time he’s added new music it’s been really good. Dragon fish is a personal favorite of mine.
@NatiaAdamo Well I think Nintendo wouldn’t just hand those to a developer. More than likely developers with an idea come to Nintendo and pitch it to use that IP. Like that one guy who pitched a realistic f-zero game. He didn’t get accepted, but Nintendo seems to be open to allow that.
Can we stop going after the people and go for the company? We all know that Activsion is terrible and have known this for a very long time, but still are going after individuals rather than the whole company. Because to change Activision you would have to get rid of all of the upper level staff so why not just get rid of the company?
@Clammy Yeah they turned it up to 11 with that boss; however, you can go and get all of the upgrades to the suit which should make it easier. Also bosses in this game are like mega man. Just keep on dying over and over until you get the hang of it. Also if you feel yourself getting angry just take a break and come back later.
I’d say that it’s the lack of direction given to the player, the feeling of progression, exploration, and game design so good that everything is easily understood with a few seconds of being exposed to it. People always talk about the first goomba in Super Mario Bros. as being amazing design, but Super Metroid surpasses this in every aspect. You are guided to every ability and forced to learn how to use them properly before you are allowed to continue and all of this is done without any text.
@K1LLEGAL Yeah, it’s not very story heavy (except for fusion which still isn’t that heavy in story). The main reason to play the other games is to play out the story. There is a lot more of show than tell in the games, but not that much happens so you should be fine.
I think this is more to upscale games that currently don’t run at 1080p and to run games that do hit 1080p at lower resolutions and upscale them to be 1080p which could then result in better frame rates. Doubt this has anything to do with the Bloomberg article from yesterday.
I feel like it wasn’t properly publicized enough that the devs who made Balan were a large part of the problem. I can’t remember who they are, but it was the game devs who were more so responsible for the ill execution of the game. Now of course I think that he did make the terrible choice of removing all of the dialogue (which would have made everything make sense). So at least the technical stuff wasn’t his problem.
Edit: I looked up the devs and they are “Arzest.” They are a mobile and 3ds developer. They made Hey pikmin, the Mario and Luigi bowsers inside story remake so they were definitely the wrong choice to make for a game like balan.
Man that sucks. I wish the best for him. I hope that he can recover to at least speak properly to his friends and family. He is also very fortunate that he at least still has his mind properly. Strokes can really mess people up in that department.
For those crapping on the game go look at the mechanics trailer. There is a good amount of depth to this game and it’s different from smash in several key ways. Like wave dashing, strafing, heavy attacks in the air, movement with grabs, grabbing projectiles, and air grabs.
The make or break part of zero was the game pad utilization. If they were to port the game it wouldn’t have that so it would make more sense to just create an entirely new game. Also I think that this game was originally intended for the 3ds based off how the dual screen would work better on it and then they didn’t put it on 3ds because it would have been too hard to make.
@Duncanballs Most devs don’t generally put betas on switch and when they do it seems like it takes more work since they have to create a separate special list for it (at least it seems to be this way based off of beta situations on switch).
They also don’t generally put betas on multiple consoles. Just easier to put out one beta (that is usually on pc) than it is to make one for all platforms. No idea why they did it on PlayStation as well as pc though. Maybe the PlayStation version was just more ready than the switch (and I would assume the Xbox version, also idk if there is a Xbox version just assuming that there is).

@Joker1234 Scarlet and Violet weren’t made by gamefreak
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Wave Race 64
Chose Europe because it improves the US one by removing the red strip on the side. Didn’t like the black border at first but it’s grown on me.

If only Minecraft actually functioned on switch. The mobile versions run better.

Re: Poll: Budget Line Box Art - Is It 'Fine', Or A Sin Against All That Is Good And Pure?
I don’t mind when they put a little ribbon or something on it, but those outlines look terrible.
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Duel #93 - Kirby's Dream Land
While the EU version is definitely better, I just can’t approve of a non-pink Kirby.

They should just give us the tracks from wii that aren’t in the game already (including remakes of course)
Re: Video: Nintendo Fixed* The Water Emulation In Ocarina Of Time On Switch
Nothing to be happy about here. They shouldn’t have had problems like this on a $30 add on to an already bad service.
Re: Kirby And The Forgotten Land Nintendo Switch File Size Revealed
@SalvorHardin Honestly that would be better. Bowser’s fury was better than Odyssey; it was just a lot shorter.

Is the turn based combat similar to crypt of the necrodancer (obviously minus the rhythm part of it). It just looks similar in how it works.

Also, 3d Kirby!
Re: Hardware Review: Can You Really "Make Your Own Switch Pro" With This $100 Dongle?
I still don’t understand the push for 4K. Sure it looks better, but 30fps 4K is so much worse than 60fps 1080p.
