Fairytales, witches, crafting and potions — we were on board with Wytchwood from the get-go, and if you're a fan of all things cottagecore and cosy, you'll be spellbound too.
The game begins when a witch with a cauldron on her head finds out that she made a pact with a suspicious goat, and somehow can't remember it. We've all been there, right?
It might sound like a stressful time, but we're assured it's not, and that you'll find Wytchwood to be a "chill game" focused on exploration and foraging for spell ingredients across swamps, mountains, and forests.
We're getting big Slay The Spire vibes from the visuals, especially the main character, but it certainly seems less demanding than the roguelike deckbuilder — that's not to say it doesn't have a lot of depth, though. There's a Grimoire full of spells, reagents, and recipes which you'll have to find ingredients for, and as someone who used to make "potions" for her parents out of random plants from the garden, this author is quite interested.
Wytchwood is scheduled to release in the Autumn this year. You can read a little more about it on the PlayStation blog — it'll also be coming to PS4 and PS5, as well as Steam.

Sounds fun enough - though I never really gel with crafting in games , from AC to Skyrim , gets on my wick…
I could do without the wordplay and 'look at me being cute and clever' dialogue.
Graphics and atmosphere look spot on, gameplay might be good.
@Clarice I dunno, I kinda like wordplay that borders on Dad jokes.
Wytchwood, which I would play in my Switch, would have me playing as a witch which would be quite the swytch from the characters which I would usually play.
@Kienda so you do know. You like wordplay. Own it.
@Clarice thanks. I will.
You also do you.
The visuals are gorgeous, and I'm always down for some crafting. I'm in.
Man I love that art style. Wish we could get a paper Mario like this.
The colours in these photos and seeing the word “Autumn” just got me so excited
Kinda reminds me of DeathSpank
As a little neo-witch myself, color me intrigued.
@Flashlink99 congrats on winning the "be nasty for no reason" award, I guess
