Re: Feature: Some of Our Favourite Legend of Zelda Games

_Octoling_

Skyward Sword was my first Zelda game (I know! I didn't know what I was missing), but it really doesn't hold a special place in my heart because I never got around to finishing it, or even getting past the halfway point. Then I began to pick up and play the older titles, and A Link Between Worlds came out. Now, I think that Twilight Princess and Zelda II are the only console games that I haven't played, but Majora's Mask is by far my favorite. Such cool design, incredibly impressive considering the time they had to make it.

Re: Site News: Welcome To The Brand New Nintendo Life!

@edgedino If I still don't like it after a few days I will probably just not use Nintendo Life anymore. That thought makes me sad because I've been here nearly five years, but if I can no longer enjoy the site because the layout isn't up to par then I'll go. But first, I'd have to find a good alternate.

Re: Poll: Which Nintendo Franchises Do You Most Want to See With the NX Launch?

I expect Zelda & Pikmin (as rumors heat up of the NX, it's becoming obvious to me that since it is "nearly complete", it would've been announced for the Wii U or 3DS by now). It's probably a given that we'll see Mario in some form (likely a 2D game, but slight chance of a 3D one). Assuming the rumors are true, I also think Smash is coming in an enhanced port. Finally, I think Animal Crossing is nearby too, especially if the NX is some sort of handheld.

Re: Fire Emblem Fates Removes 'Petting' Feature in Western Localisation

Articles like these get whiners on both sides - people who gloat about censored things being rightly removed and people who cry and whine incessantly when the least bit of skin is covered in one version while bare in another. I'm not glad this feature was removed, but so often people just get furious over small things such as these. It's not infringing on your rights, around the world there are real censoring issues with information and some people here are whining about not being able to pet your family and friends in a strategy game.

Nintendo knew this wouldn't have broad appeal overseas, so they axed it. Good on them for making a decision that probably won't affect the game's sales for better or worse, but might just improve the reputation of the game for "casual" (I hate the term) players. I understand discontent with a feature being cutted, but people here are acting like Nintendo is overstepping boundaries when they are doing what they have done for years - adapting a game to better fit its release market. It's why that scene with Soleil was cut, rightly so, because it wouldn't transition well into western markets.

I'm buying the game regardless, and I just ranted a bunch while talking against overreactions. Sure that helps my credibility. If I were Nintendo Life's staff, I would lock up articles like this because we obviously aren't mature enough to handle this.

Re: Feature: Five Key Reveals and Releases That Will Define Nintendo's 2016

This year is make or break for the NX and maybe even Nintendo as a whole. They can't afford to make big mistakes with the NX like they did with the Wii U, or else they are third for the second time in a row. As dedicated console gaming declines, it is important that Nintendo establishes a connection with gamers who plan to stay in the medium a while, they can't recapture the kind of people they did with the Wii and DS.
