My favorite handheld system. I went through some rough years around the time the 3DS was released and I can't tell you how many nights I spent laying in bed playing games that just took me away like Zelda OoT 3D, Animal Crossing New Leaf, Mario Kart, and all of the old DS games.
I'm not utilizing time travel because, while I don't consider myself a purist, I actually enjoy the waiting aspect. It gives me something to look forward to. I don't want everything all at once. I've put 140 hours into the game so far normally, and I just unlocked the island designer app. It gives me a sense of accomplishment.
Can't say I'm surprised at all. I've already put 70 hours into the game. It's addicting and released during a perfect time when most people are isolated and quarantined.
I played Mario Kart 8 for six straight hours on Wii U the day it was released. It's still one of my most frequently played games. Over 200+ hours into the Switch version.
I still HAVE both of these games for Sega. My parents bought me Aladdin for Christmas 1993, and my grandmother bought me Lion King for my birthday in 1995. Pretty neat that we will be able to experience these games again!
This is my favorite Final Fantasy. I remember getting it from Best Buy in 2001 when it was greatest hits, for $20. Definitely shelling out another $20 for the remastered version. Can't wait to play it again.
Speedrunning is not for me, but I commend the people that continuously try to find new ways to improve times. One reason I love Ocarina of Time so much is because it encourages exploration. I still spend hours upon hours obtaining all heart pieces and gold skulltulas.
I still play my 3DS regularly. The system has an incredible library of games. Just because Nintendo is moving on to the Switch doesn't mean people should stop playing the 3DS.
Might be a dumb question but is there sound on this and if so, a way to turn it off? Say if I brought this to work and took it out a few times during the day, I wouldn't want buttons beeping like crazy.
I'm not sure why Nintendo hasn't already put out SNES games for Nintendo Online. This is 2019, the age of Netflix and online streaming. Online needs to show it's different than the virtual console. Put it out all at once instead of slowly making games available.
