Animal Crossing New Horizons

Famitsu's Japanese chart figures are now in for 23rd - 29th March, revealing that Animal Crossing: New Horizons is going from strength to strength.

The game has managed to shift another 727,791 physical copies in Japan alone in its second week on sale, down from last week's tremendous 1.8 million-strong debut. This puts the game on a total of around 2.6 million physical copies sold in just two weeks; its already just 230,000 copies shy of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's lifetime sales total in the region.

The current best-selling game on Switch in Japan is Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, which has shifted 3.62 million physical copies in its lifetime. Could Animal Crossing beat it? It's certainly looking possible.
