Thank you!! I was just thinking of this game and could not for the life of me remember the title lol Plucky Squire…got it!

I recently found my original Earthbound guidebook in a box full of old magazines and strategy guides from when I was a kid. It was very well loved and not in great shape, sadly, but I was thrilled to see it after all these years! Unfortunately the cartridge and big box are long gone.

That’s very telling in how much faith Nintendo has in the quality of the hardware they’re selling. “Hey, here’s a subscription service so you can pay even more money to fix the overpriced hardware we’re selling that may break every other month. Join now!” Wow.

Why do all these special edition pro controllers look like mike Tyson face tattoos?

No way 4 comes to the switch….maybe a cloud version but natively doubt it could run on the current Nintendo hardware. The mobile game actually looks really good though and that would be a nice fit on the switch!

There was a huge Atlus sale a month or two ago where I picked up a few shin megami/persona games I’ve never played…they were super cheap and I should’ve bought all of them lol hope they do another sale before they close it for good!

@Daniel36 beginnings is a hard game to love lol it feels more like an NES prototype of earthbound or a de-make, if you will. I’ve started that game maybe a half a dozen times in my life and never finished it. It’s just waaay too grindy for my tastes. Earthbound on the other hand I’ve probably played through more than any other rpg and it’s a blast every time. Definitely try to see earthbound through. I’m just happy so many more people will have access to these games now

@Splodge I’ve read a few reports of people testing burn in on the switch oled and there’s no evidence to support that it’s a valid concern. Granted, YMMV but I’ve been playing mine since launch with plenty of games with static images, brightness up high and noticed nothing negative. Really wouldn’t worry about burn in at this point. I agree that the avatar and toolbar at the bottom should be able to be hidden though.

Do we really need another Kart game? Honestly these games are such a cut and paste cash grab. Take characters from something popular, throw them in go karts, sell for 40+USD, PROFIT! I don’t know maybe it’s just me but once you’ve played one you’ve played em all. Maybe I’m just old lol

@InkIdols Honestly if you have access to a ps2 that’s gonna be your best bet. I haven’t played the originals in years but I don’t remember problems like the switch has

@InkIdols nope, in my experience it’s still a dumpster fire. Unless you can get it for like under 20 it’s not worth it

I got this as gift and this collection is a disaster! The framerate constantly drops to near unplayable levels and my entire vice city save got corrupted and now I can’t even boot the game. These are great games when they work but the release and patch are a joke

I played it on steam earlier in the year, great game! The system requirements are pretty low if I remember correctly since I was able to play it no problem on my 8 year old crappy laptop, if anyone wants to give it a shot now.

Looking like Golf Story but with fishing…I’m definitely here for it! Speaking of Golf Story, I can’t wait until Sports Story gets released. Been awhile since I’ve heard anything about it.

These pop up pretty regularly on Amazon USA for retail price. It’s nice to see them somewhat keeping up with demand for a change. Now what I REALLY want is a limited edition Metroid OLED. Missed opportunity with both of them launching same day last month.

So not only is this a game where you pretend to be a YouTube star, but a sequel to a game you pretend to be a YouTube star…people really like this kind of stuff. God I feel like such an old man

Unfortunately, no matter how many dislikes or how much complaining people do about it Nintendo will change NOTHING. Mainly because people are still all going to reluctantly buy it. I mean look how quick those 50 dollar controllers sold out…it was like 24 hours maybe lol it’s just the way it’s always been. And I’m 100 percent guilty of this as well

As a “dad gamer” without a ton of time for gaming I almost always play in handheld mode. It’s just easier to find a few minutes here and a few minutes there to play wherever I’m at in the house…especially the hallway! I love sitting on an uncomfortable wooden bench in the entryway playing my switch but who doesn’t, right??

I just don’t like the idea of having to rent a dlc that I don’t want in order to get access to n64 games.

So the only option for the NSO expansion pack is to also rent the animal crossing dlc, even if you don’t want it?! Hiking to the price to over double what it was a year…seriously?!

@Savino I had the launch model and I just upgraded to OLED and I definitely think it’s worth it if you play mostly handheld mode like I do. Also the thing I wasn’t expecting was just how much bigger the screen looks! I know it’s technically less than an inch but it makes a difference Maybe it’s the vibrancy of the colors and the light/dark contrast but it’s noticeably bigger than the OG switch to me. The build quality feels more solid to me as well. All that combined with the better battery life compared to the original are solid enough updates for only 50 dollars more for handheld players.

I think the trailer and aesthetics look great, personally. Let’s wait to be critical until any of us have actually played the game huh?

@WCB noooo the satisfye grip really doesn’t fit it anymore?! That’s really disappointing as that’s the only real way I can play in handheld mode comfortably. Hmmm maybe I can make some modifications with the dremmel

Life hack: just bend one of the contact pins on the cartridge you wanna play to pry that sucker open. Boom! Problem solved

@riChchestM are you trying to keep the same profile on both the switches, so you and your daughter can both play games you purchased? From what I understand, that can theoretically work but I don’t believe you’ll be able to have them play games simultaneously. Can anyone else confirm this?

So any games that are on my micro sd card will NOT transfer, even though they were purchased by the same Nintendo ID that I just transferred over from the source console? Only screenshots/video? That’s…disappointing and is gonna take forever! I guess it’ll free up space from games I don’t play anymore. Ugh oh well

@Xeno_Aura most multi-plat games are more expensive on the switch. I agree that it’s lame but if people don’t buy it, they could drop the base price. I’ve seen it happen a few times but mostly to indie type games. Personally, I just wait for sales on these types of games.
