Re: There's A New Nintendo Switch System Firmware Update Coming Soon

Xylnox

@Pod Well, I kind of buy too many games. Especially, when they're on sell. Heh. I like to read what others say about the game because some people really go into great details and explain it well. But, I know people can really abuse the review process and review bomb too. So, I guess there's pros and cons to it.

What?! You posted another video again! Don't you realize that you're spoiling people? Now, half the world's population won't know how to spell because they aren't reading anymore. Earth is now doomed! We won't be able to colonize Mars now because people will forget how to talk. The astronauts on the way to Mars will just grunt at each other. This is a sad day for humankind. I will now lock myself in my closet and cry.

Anyone else getting sick or pissed off about games coming out that when released, are like alphas and betas? Or big hyped games that were in development for years but then after you buy the game and the story or whatever sucks because they changed the story six to twelve months before coming out and they didn't have enough time to finish it or whatever? Or how about big day one patches that fix a lot of crap but the game still needs months of patches to fix? Or games that were really hyped and shown features and maps etc that somehow aren't in the game when it releases? Or super short games that make you wonder how the game is even remotely worth $50 to $60 bucks or however expensive it was?

Of course this doesn't happen to every game but it does seem like it's getting a lot worse. I don't know about laws and legal stuff much but there aught to be protections against this stuff for people. I know one of the main reasons is money but it would be different if developers were honest and said, "Hey, this is where blah blah blah stands with our game but we need money rolling in to finish it.". I don't know, it's just evil how game companies shaft us so much, especially on PC games. >

Re: Feature: Zelda II: The Adventure Of Link Taught Me The Value Of Perseverance

My parents got me the NES for Christmas when I was young and they also said they would buy me one game too. So, we went to I think it was Sears or JCPenny. When we got to the NES section in the store, I saw Zelda II: The Adventure of Link and immediately knew I wanted that game. I took that game home (omg it was a gold cartridge too) and fell in love with it. I wouldn't beat the game till months later as I would start over again from the beginning many times. I loved it and that game made me a Zelda/Link fan ever since.

P.S. Thank you Nintendo for the fond memories that I have from your games.

Re: Random: Fans Take A Dig At Nintendo's Limited-Time Mario Antics With Blade Runner-Style Parody Video

Xylnox

Nintendo just wants to force people to buy some of their games before they get pulled. It's really a slap in the face to Nintendo fans as we would've bought most of the games anyway. By pulling content, Nintendo thinks it can sell a lot but forgets that people would continue to purchase "said" game for years. So, it really comes down to burst sales vs longterm sales.

Re: Feature: Best Nintendo Switch Games Of 2020

Xylnox

Honestly, I believe that you should separate the indies and triple AAA developers and have Top 50 for indies and then Top 50 for the others. For the most part, the bigger developers can spend millions on games and dwarfs the money that most indie devs have access to. There are also a lot more people making those games in bigger companies and you're basically saying that a small number of people in an indie company should be compared to hundreds of people in bigger companies. I feel that is a disservice to the bigger devs by including indies in the same list. By doing this, you can rate more indies and triple AAA that deserve to be listed. I mean, you can't compare Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Call of Duty, The Elder Scrolls and others with an indie platformer. Anyway, this is just my two cents and thank you for reading this.

Re: Nintendo Apologises After Multiple Customers Receive Faulty Consoles Out Of The Box

Xylnox

Maybe their working Switch was switched with a broken Switch which wasn't the Switch that the switched customer wanted but decided to fill out the Online form to get their bad Switch switched out for a new Switch and now the switched customer is no longer switched and is now a new proud owner of a Nintendo Switch... which wasn't switched out... because it's working fine now.

Re: Nintendo Cancels Splatoon 2 NA Open Livestream, "Free Melee" Believed To Have Played A Part

Xylnox

So, you really think Nintendo or any other big company would agree that illegally copied Smash Bro Melee is ok? Did the organizers get with Nintendo to see what options they have? You do realize that Nintendo has a reputation and image that they're trying to protect. Nintendo is known as a family and "clean" company. Also, the main Nintendo company is a Japanese company so they're not an American or European company and we must realize that they are fiercely protective of their image.

Another thing that's dumb is people bringing their "Smash Brother Melee" problem into Splatoon. Instead of crying about not being able to play melee, why doesn't someone become a leader and get with Nintendo and see if there's a way for melee to still happen but in the right way. I mean, you can be a little sheep all your life if you want but all the crying isn't going to do anything till someone stands up. It almost feels like that the internet and social media is just a platform for people to whine and complain to each other like the celebrities do.

Anyway, sorry if I angered anyone with this post. I just thought I would post my thoughts or rather my whining.

Re: Nintendo Switch Looks Poised To Smash 'Crazy Records' This Holiday Season

Xylnox

@electrolite77 Thank you for your response. I have been focusing on consoles and I didn't even think about all of the gaming platforms. After looking at that graph, I was amazed at how big the mobile gaming market is. Even though I don't play games on my phone anymore, it makes sense with Microsoft looking at the whole pie and not just a slice. Cool.

Re: Nintendo Switch Looks Poised To Smash 'Crazy Records' This Holiday Season

@electrolite77 You're right, Microsoft wants Game Pass subs. I just wonder how much money Microsoft gets if I bought one new Xbox game every month vs paying $10/mon for Game Pass. The only problem I see with Game Pass, is if they decided to do away with it or it tanked in the future, then the only games you would have, would be the ones you bought. Also, Microsoft isn't really making money off of Game Pass yet and I've seen an article where they said all of this and said the longer Game Pass stays alive, then the more Microsoft will get.
