I tried to do the survey but it's just too damn long. Answer the same questions over and over for mulitple platforms. It's a huge waste of time. I got 33% through it after 10-15 minutes and decided I didn't want to finish it.
Here's a better Survey: Do you want more Atlus games on ___ platform? A: Yes B: No If you answered A, which games would you like?
I still go back and play Bustin' Out every now and then on my GBA or on emulators on my phone. It's always been a favorite of mine and I agree that I miss having these cool spin off games.
I definitely prefer the whatever voice clip, but I probably wouldn't have even noticed if it wasn't for this article. Thanks now I'll never stop noticing it. xD
But in all honesty it's not going to bother me even if I'd prefer them to revert this change.
It's about time they re-release these. They had said that they might release them again at a future date and most fans on the Atelier reddit had given up on them ever returning. Glad to see them finally released and I'm excited to see what the costume for 2 will be.
@Yosher You could kind of think of GT as kind of an alternate timeline to Super, where they timeline splits after the end of Z. It's probably the easiest way to look at it. Essentially there are just two separate canons that developed a sequel story in a different way. I've always loved how the games are happy to crossover GT and Super, it's a lot of fun to have both sides interact.
GT and Super crossovers are one of the main reasons I enjoy the Super Dragon Ball Heroes promo anime. It's fun to watch the crazy what if scenarios.
So happy to see more GT representation. My biggest let down with GT Goku was how little of SS4 we were able to see. So seeing that Gogeta SS4 will be a thing is really exciting to have a character always in that form.
And Baby was always one of my favorite villians from the entire series so having him added is just an amazing cherry on top. I'll probably buy that Season Pass soon then.
I would totally replay a hacked version with all or even most of the Pokemon added back in. Heck even just all the cut Kanto Pokemon from Let's Go would be worth playing a hacked version. I've got a secondary switch specifically for playing with mods. So something like this is very exciting to see!
I got this game because I already like Picross and thought an anime theme would be fun. I hadn't seen any episodes of Overlord before playing but I started watching it after playing this, I can say that it's been fun to experience these side by side. I do the puzzles first and then I'm so excited when things show up in the anime so I can know what they mean.
@Mycroft Yep. That was my first thoughts after seeing that pattern too, it's totally the go to transparent background indicator in Photoshop and Gimp, and probably other programs as well.
@CurryPowderKeg79 As far as I know people don't get too offended at that phrase, I've heard it applied to men as well. The sad truth is that today's online climate is full of too many 'professionally offended people'.
@riChchestM I would have never seen that interpretation. I mean we're on a Nintendo website of all places, ya know the company responsible for Mario Kart and it's frequent use of banana peels... Honestly it might be better if you edit your comment to remove that claim as I think your suggestion might lead to otherwise unwarranted controversy.
I screamed in joy so loud because it was releasing today that I hurt my friend's ears because he was sitting next to me. Needless to say he was less stoked about it than I was. Still it's my all time favorite Final Fantasy game so I'm super hyped to see this come out!
What a let down.... I've been really excited to see this Collector's Edition, but nothing in this is nearly as cool as the Sega genesis styled case with an imitation genesis cartridge that they gave away at a convention last year.
Most of the things in here feel like tie in merchandise that you would buy for just a few bucks each at Target or something.
The present themed box is a cool idea though. It's very in character for this game.
Nintendo is so tone deaf when it comes to they're classic games.
Players: "We want to play our favorite VC games!" Nintendo: "Oh like the NES ones? Cool we can do that!" Players: "That's cool but we want more than just these NES games please." Nintendo: "Oh you want more? We hear you and we're happy to give you more. Here's a few more NES games." Players: "We want something other than NES games. You used to have lots of other games available..." Nintendo: "Yes we know we had other games available in the past on past systems including the 3DS, but for now our key focus is on NES games for the Switch. We have nothing to comment at this time regarding other classic games from previous nintendo systems."
@Varkster "Nobody was asking for these ports." Funny you should say that because I actually have been wanting these FNaF games on the Switch. I wanted to play them on the go without the simplification of the phone versions so much that I bought a Gpdwin (basically a 3ds XL sized laptop with built in controls). It worked great for playing these portably but it's undeniable that the Switch is both easier to play on the go and on the TV. So as a fan of these games (and as someone who's already bought them all on Steam) I very much plan on buying them again on Switch when they release.
Ports aren't a bad thing, they allow people to visit past favorites, and sometimes try something they hadn't before. Honestly who in their right mind would want there to be less games on a system for people to enjoy?
Double chocolate chip cookies exist simply because people enjoy having more of a good thing. Asking for less is silly. What good is a chocolate chip cookie with only 1 or two chocolate chips?
@BenAV I won't deny that other eshop only games can be cheaper but 55 AUD vs the usual 80 AUD of full priced retail games is quite a bit cheaper. Especially when the Switch version includes the Maxima DLC with the game instead of charging 22 AUD for that DLC separately like other consoles.
I personally think that's a great deal considering how much playtime the game can provide.
Edit: It also includes the Creature Pack DLC which cost an additional 22 AUD on PS4.
That's 44 AUD worth of DLC included in the game's base price of 55 AUD. So essentially the base game is being sold to you at around 11 AUD, you're just required to buy the DLC.
The value/cost of the game is all relative depending on how you look at it. But overall it's a sweet price in my opinion.
@BenAV Are you saying digital only games should be priced fairly like World of Final Fantasy? Because I personally thought $40 was a very fair price for that game plus the $16 (price on ps4) dlc upgrade bundled in that price. I laid $60 for the game on ps4 when it first came out so paying only $24 more than the dlc would have cost me to get it on the portable Swith was a great deal.
I'm extremely excited for Skullomania to return to a modern fighting game. I know he's in Fighting Ex Layer but I've yet to play that. I haven't seen him since the Street Fighter Ex days back on PS1. So I'll definitely be buying this DLC. It's nice to see that the boobs on him/her are small enough to not be too distracting from the original character.
This game has been lots of fun with my friends and family, 2v2 4 player battles are awesome fun.
Yeah I saw the earlier post. Agreed that if I'd taken a few minutes to finish looking up more about the earthquake my initial response would have had more empathy.
Again no hard feelings. Let's just hope things can get better for Japan soon.
@Razer Hey man no hard feelings. The whole point of my post was that people would have some level of disappointment for the delay. That's why I posted the GIF image to hopefully encapsulate the general disappointment of people in a comedic way in hopes that it's help prevent further more outrageous unfeeling comments.
The article did very little to mention the actual real world side effects to the people in Japan. I hadn't even heard of the earthquake at all until this article.
Honestly go back and read my entire first post especially the edits (which were already there at the time of your post). I immediately went and did further research on the situation and regretted acting impatiently. Once the shock died down I was and am definitely more concerned about the welfare of the people in Japan than silly game announcements.
@maruse Hey I'm so sorry those 2 (or 3 if you can't the guy saying the direct was going to be crap anyway) were being so rude to you. I responded there to help stand up for you. No one should be treated that way. I'm disappointed that the Direct has been delayed but that doesn't justify being a jerk to people.
@BensonUii Yep. I'm definitely still disappointed because I was really looking forward to it tomorrow, but in the end I feel pretty bad for those affected. If this had happened near my home it could have been devastating to me and my lifestyle. So yeah even if I'm disappointed I think I can wait patiently for the Direct when Nintendo feels that things have settled down and are okay.
@Likethepear To be fair I agree with you to some extent. (see my earlier post). But at the same time its understandable that they may be delaying for personal time for family members to verify the safety of their family.
@NintendoFanWT: I agree that it's probably respectful. If you look at my edit I note that my initial reaction might have been somewhat childish. But in answer to the question you asked @Likethepear might I suggest one possible way that it might benefit Nintendo as a business to delay the Direct?
A possible reason for this delay might be that they want this Direct to make a large impact, and as such if a significant portion (5.3 million people) of Japan doesn't have electricity (let alone the internet) as a result of this earthquake, then it also makes sense to delay it for the sake of maximizing the number of people in their home market who can see it.
Imagine if they still aired the Direct in the NA and EUR regions, and then aired the Japan Direct later. Would their reveals have anywhere near the same surprise factor if people could have heard about it elsewhere via the news of the other regions airing first?
But I also see the flip side of the coin.... And that being that them airing their Nintendo Direct could potentially bring some happiness and hope for positive future experiences to those who might be desperate for any kind of thing to look forward to considering the recent trauma they might be going through there in Japan.
I'm going to be the one who probably voices the more irrational yet very real feelings of all of us who were waiting with baited breath for cool game announcements:
On a more intellectual level I know that I should be more worried about the earthquake, but honestly I didn't even know it had happened as things in the USA have been just fine on that front. It's harder to be upset about the thing that doesn't affect me directly than the thing that just effects the world at large.
Edit: Okay now in fairness after googling Hokkaido Japan there are some articles that really illustrate how bad this was.
"The devastating earthquake has left the island’s 5.3 million people without power after the main power station of the Hokkaido Electric Power Company lost all operations, affecting other sites."
"The death toll has so far risen to eight people... ....More than 30 people are still missing and the death toll is expected to rise in the coming days."
"The homes to approximately 40 people were wiped out by the landslides. At least 140 were injured, 87 of them in Hokkaido’s prefectural capital of Sapporo alone."
When put into that perspective it's obviously pretty bad for people there, and after reading that I definitely feel more sympathy towards them.
But that same article ends with this, "So far in 2018 Japan has been hit by historic flooding, a deadly heatwave and seven major storms." The sad truth of the matter is that it seems that these kind of big natural disasters have almost become normal or expected in Japan. Which in some ways just leaves me thinking... "Again? Really mother nature sure has something against Japan..."
I love and adore Japan and have wanted to visit there for ages. I've even fantasized about living there in the past so this is rough. Honestly I'm gonna leave my earlier response just for the sake of preserving my initial reaction, but the more I think about it and read about it the more I feel like my initial reaction was that of a spoiled child rather than the adult I'm supposed to be. My apologies if I offended anyone.
Edit 2: I think if the NL article had included a bit more details about the earthquake and the effects it had on Japan itself I might have been a little less quick to whine about the delay, but then again maybe I just reacted quickly out of shock. Again sorry if I came off as offensive to anyone.
