It's been a while since we got an update from Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl , but next week that should be changing - with the official game account on social media teasing character news.
Apparently, there's going to be a reveal of sorts taking place next week during an IGN broadcast on the 13th of May. Attached to the tweet is the line "back to the lab again", which may or may not be teasing what's to come.
Back in February, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles antagonist Shredder was added to the Smash Bros.-style fighter as a free-to-download playable character, alongside a new stage based on the show Double Dare. Garfield was also added at the end of last year.
What sort of character-related news would you like to see next from Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl? Tell us down below.
"Back to formula?!"
Obviously (unless there's something I'm missing) this isn't anything related to Dexter's Laboratory since that's a cartoon network property.
I'm thinking that line may be more of a tie-in to the Smash competitive community news that happened around the same time, as "Back to the Lab again" has been trending a bit as a catch phrase borrowed from Smash Tourney Organizer "GimR" who was showcasing a big newly discovered technique in Smash Ultimate yesterday. They may have used this line to piggyback off that hype, rather than it being a hint to the character.
It's going to be the super popular, ever-relevant and beloved Nickelodeon classic Fred from Fred: The Show!
My mind is going blank to what "lab" could mean but I'd pick the game back up for Rocko, Ickis, or Quailman.
Nora wakeman has a lab right?
The lab makes me thunk if Jimmy Nuetron.
If I could have a fight between Chucky and Angelica I would buy this game instantly
@WillTheLion That's what I thought!
Gameplay sucks. That's what they should focus on.
Just a disclaimer: "Back to the Lab Again" is NOT a hint. Hugely popular smash player Gimr has this segment on his streams where he finds new tech and stuff for Smash. His tagline is always "back to the lab again". Just HOURS earlier before this post, "Back to the lab again" was trending on twitter because Gimr planned to stream that day, but ran into technical problems resulting in a stream with the looping brb message of "Back to the lab again". The internet lost their minds when this happened.
Since it's Nick characters, maybe it's either Jimmy Neutron or Denzel Crocker. But then again, I could be wrong. But then, it's not like the guy in charge will announce Squidward with a Squilliam alt skin.
I’m surprised that Cosmo and Wanda are not in this yet.
Jimmy newtron, perhaps?
My bet: waluigi !
I'm surprised no fairy oddparents characters was add hope to see cosmo and wanda or Timmy.
It might be a hint, but I’m pretty sure it’s a smash community joke, ether way I’m happy to finally have more news on this game.
Professor Membrane perhaps? I'm definitely bias with Invader Zim and totally not pulling stuff out of no where because I want more merch...
XJ9 or Jimmy Neutron would be cool, if we're talking about labs. Jimmy is much more likely though.
My mind goes to either Jimmy Neutron or maybe Jenny Wakeman (her mum has a lab I think...and I didn't watch the show but I assume Jenny was created in that lab)
XJ9! XJ9!! XJ9!!! XJ9!!!!! PLEASE THAT GIRL NEEDS SOME LOVE!!!
Of all the times to tease this, they just had to do it when Gimr was showing off his new Ultimate tech. Especially with the whole 'back to the lab' thing. That is incredibly funny.
It’s Eminem and maybe Dr Dre.
XJ9 and Jimmy are both notable exclusions, so I'm highly curious to see who this is.
Mr Wizard confirmed. One of the most educational kids shows you’ll ever watch.
I’m calling it now It’s my boy Jimmy Neutron
Genuine question but is this game any good? I've been thinking about buying it but with mixed Reviews I can't make my mind up.
Back to the lab again, yo, this whole rhapsody
Better go capture this moment and hope it don't pass him
Came here to say this. You beat me to it.
@InvisiBulbasaur first thing that popped into my head, had to finish the lyric 🔥
Please be Mr. Ernst from Hey Dude
Watch it be Sam Pocket from iCarly.
Jimmy Neutron would be genius but you never know if it's Carl Wheezer
@Gamergirl94 Really? No Fairly Odd Parents characters in the game? That's an odd omission.
Knowing the character choices in this game, I wouldn't be surprised if we got Timmy's dad as a character and none of the main cast. LOL.
By "lab" I hope they mean the recording studio...wasn't VO confirmed?
My Top 10 Most-Wanted Characters:
2. Jenny Wakeman
3. Jimmy Neutron
4. Timmy Turner
7. Vlad Plasmius
9. Bessie Higgenbottom
*List subject to change. This was just off the top of my head.
I want henry danger and danger force characters
@RubyCarbuncle I personally liked the game, but it's like a good skeleton with no meat.
The gameplay works, inferior to Smash, but works, but when you look at the content, it's severely lacking.
@Ogoalie30 It says “Bact To The Lab” so maybe Schwoz?
@Harmonie Fairly Oddparents are a rights issue. You would think it's strictly a Nickelodeon property, but apparently, it's not as simple as these other characters. This is why Danny Phantom is in the game, but no Fairly Oddparents characters are yet.
@JayronAuron It's Jimmy Neutron.
@duffmmann They got the rights to Spongebob so what "rights issue"?
@victordamazio Thanks man for responding. I'm wondering why other people didn't respond tbh but it doesn't matter. I just like to be courteous to others myself but yeah like I said it doesn't matter.
is this game good? I don´t have Smash Bros.
I had Smash Bros Brawl, but i´ve never really had fun playing it. I LOVE fighting games. I have 400+ fighting games on 32 consoles here. I play Tekken 7, Soulcalibur VI, Street Fighter V, King of Fighters XV, Guilty Gear Accent Core (and Xrd Rev +, and Strive), Blazblue (all of them)....etc...
I played on World Cyber Gaming 1996 competition, on SALEX 1992/1993 competitions. So...i LOVE fighting games....but the "Smash Bros formula" did not catch me....
I tried Brawlhalla...and...no fun again.
I always think about buying Ultimate Smash Bros......so i i remember: "but...."
So....again..the question: is this game good? Faster than Smash Bros Brawl (F*** slow, F*** boring, F*** monotonous compared to Guilty Gear, Dragon Ball Fighter Z, Marvel vs Capcom, King of Fighters, Virtua Fighter..., for example)?
I swear if they add Jenny from My Life as a Teenage Robot I will buy this game
Really hoping it’s voices, that’s the one thing keeping me from picking this up
@Rykdrew Since you're a fan of traditional fighting games but disliked Brawl and Brawlhalla, I doubt NASB will be any good for you, since the aforementioned games are excellent at what they're intended to do, while NASB is filled with jank that ruins its gameplay.
I think you're just not cut out for platform fighting games. No offense intended, it's just that your heart is set on traditional fighters, and that's okay. Continue playing those if that's what you prefer.
@link3710 My Life as a Teenage Robot didn't do so well when it aired, and that unfortunately hurts her chances compared to plenty of other Nick characters. Then again, Zim is in the game despite also in a state of great reception but low TV ratings.
@Nintendoh Thanks for the polite answer and that could also guide me on whether or not to invest in the game. I don't have friends who play "platform fighters" like Smash Bros. Only traditional fighters to competitions. So I don't have anyone to train against, Smash bros Brawl online was horrible, and I didn't see the stimulus to develop myself in this game to the point of starting to get fun. In the end, it seemed quite monotonous to me, because as I participate in official tournaments of traditional fighting games, the level is so high, that you don't go 1/2 second without doing 4 or 5 commands within an ultra fast and complex chess. It ends up being more intense for me. A lot more things happen per second than in Smash bros and that appeals to me more.
I like that they are adding more and more to this game over time, i just wish there were some unlockables or something more fun for the single player to do.
