Re: Best Of 2020: The Game That Starred Mickey Mouse, Ghostbusters Or Garfield, Depending On Your Region

VinnieMii

Ha, crazy article, lol! I have all the Game Boy games mentioned on here, including the Kid Klown one. There's quite a few games with palette swaps for different regions on Game Boy. @madelk mentioned the 'McDonaldLand' released in Europe which is the same as 'Spot: The Cool Adventure' released in N. America. There's also Baby T. Rex (Europe) that had 4 other regional variants including 'Bamse' (Sweden), 'Agro Saur' (Australia), 'We're Back! A Dinosaur Story' (USA), and an unreleased version for 'Edd the Duck' which recently leaked on the internet in September 2020.

Re: Nintendo Download: 21st May (North America)

VinnieMii

@Magrane Totally agree with what your saying. They could've done something(!) to improve the gaming experience, and it would've been easy to do it, too. But they did nothing. They could've just slapped the 'Panel de Pon' title on the SNES version or transfer the English files to the Super Famicom version. But I guess we're stuck with trial and error on this one. Thankfully, we can create suspend points before making a mistake.

Re: Nintendo Download: 21st May (North America)

VinnieMii

Not sure why Nintendo decided to release 'Panel de Pon' for SNES Online instead of the localized version known as 'Tetris Attack' (that featured Yoshi's Island characters instead of those fairy characters that no one in USA knows about). Also, I just played 'Panel De Pon' on my Switch and it's not even localized. Some of it is in English, but most of the menu is Japanese. What the heck, Nintendo? Was there some kind of litigation because they improperly used the word 'Tetris' in the title?

Re: PlatinumGames' Astral Chain File Size And Other Details Revealed

VinnieMii

@fafonio I beg to to differ when you are talking about Transformers: Devastation. I absolutely love that game. That was a licensed title done right. I haven't played any of the other supposedly bad 'PlatinumGames/Activision' games, but TF:Devastation is one I am going to rule out. I don't see anything wrong with it. The fan service is a great bonus (including original voice actors and music composer from the G1 cartoon), but the gameplay is just as good as any other Platinum game. Unfortunately, I don't think it will see a Switch release. They've already taken it down from Steam. I'm assuming it has something to do with licensing issues with the toy line.

Re: Arcade Archives Donkey Kong Jr.

VinnieMii

Some serious input lag on this game. I hope there’s an update to fix it. I hate waiting half a second for DK jr. to switch to another vine. The game is just broken this way.

Re: Video: The 26 Best Game Boy Advance Games of All Time

VinnieMii

Oh man, I'm currently on a GBA collecting rampage and then this article shows up, lol. You guys put Ninja Five-0 on the list. Oh boy, that has to be the holy grail of GBA games.

Just bought a Spongebob AGS-101 to add to my collection of 101's (also own Pearl Blue and Dark Grey 101's) and currently own 330 GBA games. I think the list is justified. But there are a few hidden gems that I've discovered in my travels (like Astro Boy: Omega Factor). Waiting for my copy of 'Bruce Lee: Return of the Legend'...Awesome beat'em-up/platformer!

Love playing these games on the Game Boy Player/GameCube.

Re: Soapbox: Let 2018 Be The Year The Third-Party Exclusive Takes Over On Nintendo Switch

VinnieMii

Third-party exclusives would result in better quality games that are specifically designed to run at optimal performance on the system they are created for.

The third-party multiplats are hit-or-miss when it comes to performance on the Switch. Their best selling point is that they are portable, but some of them can't even do that! I was sad when I found out RiME was such a failure, and WWE2K18 was a hot mess.

I think that era of failed promised titles may be over, though. At this point, I hope developers know what can run on the Switch before they make any promises. BUT, third-party exclusives would be golden!

Re: 'Super Famicom Wars' And 'Princess Minerva' Translated to English

VinnieMii

I had my nephew and niece over my house this Xmas and I wanted to show them my Switch, maybe play some Mario Kart 8, but they were suddenly disinterested when they saw that I had a SNES and almost 100 games for it. I hooked it up, fired up the old CRT, and we were having a blast. This new memory may be my finest 'SNES Christmas' memory yet.

Re: Review: WWE 2K18 (Switch)

VinnieMii

Here's an idea:

Developers who want to create multi-platform games should initially develop games for Switch...THEN port and upgrade to the more powerful systems. Doesn't that sound easier than playing whack-a-mole with bugs in the downgraded ports?

Re: Bayonetta 1 And 2 Are Getting A Special Edition Bundle With All The Trimmings

VinnieMii

Really glad to see the whole Bayonetta franchise getting the Switch treatment. I would REALLY love it if PlatinumGames would release Transformers: Devastation on the Switch. That was a multiplatform release that skipped Nintendo platforms entirely. The fighting mechanics are very similar to Bayonetta and is the best 'Transformers' game in existence and was WAY better than the 'Transformers: Prime' WiiU exclusive. C'mon PlatinumGames, make it happen.

EDIT: TF: Devastation was published by Activision. Might be their call...

@Gerald @AG_Awesome

"I wish I could have an inverted stick and motion aiming separated like I do with zelda."

Finally, someone else noticed this problem

Yeah, I've been playing with an inverted-y axis my whole life.

When choosing the inverted-y setting for stick control, it also inverts the motion control and there is no separation for this. Does anyone like inverted motion controls? My only choice was to shut it off...bummer

I tried the 'normal' way, but it would take me a really long time to get used to it. I hope that there'll be a fix in an update. Backwards motion controls hurts my brain, lol!

Re: Zen Studios Shows Off a Clever Twist With Vertical Play in Pinball FX3 on Switch

VinnieMii

Ok, I've actually turned my 50" LED TV on it's side, playing Pinball FX2, and it's freaking awesome! I can imagine that the Switch and it's versatility really goes well with PinballFX.

Oooh, a Metroid table would be super-fantastic! Metroid Prime Pinball was the game I played the most on my DS. I think the developer that made that game also made the 'Pro Pinball' series. Those guys also make great video pinball. But if Zen Studios can carry that baton, I wouldn't go against it. Their pinball games are TOP NOTCH!

I can understand the hostility towards the 'free-to-play' deal. But with this game, it's different. You should consider that each table is a full game. You could spend many hours on just one. Each table has many various missions and can be very overwhelming. The programming and work that they do on just one table is well worth the price you pay for it.

If you like pinball, at least try the free table! Sorcerer's Lair is a very awesome table and also my personal favorite.

Re: BadLand Games to Donate 75% Of Its Axiom Verge Profits to Healthcare for Tom Happ's Son

VinnieMii

@Jack_Goetz

I'm not sure what it's like out in the UK, but I really get the vibe that retailers in the USA don't want anything to do with the Wii U or its games. To them, it's bad enough that they have stock that still hasn't sold in years.

I really think Axiom Verge on the Wii U is the 'definitive' version of the game, due to the extra gamepad features that no other version has. I bought the digital copy.

I'm really glad to see that somewhere in the world, there's a physical version of it. Thanks for the link. Unfortunately, the Wii U is region-locked. But, at least there's some glimmer of hope that there will be a Wii U version in the USA. *crossing my fingers

Re: Review: Lumo (Switch)

VinnieMii

@World
Awesome, thanks for the link. I see a lot of the Epyx games made it on the list. I was also hoping to see Pitfall II on there (A Metroidvania style game that came out before there was Metroid and Castlevania). Hopefully, it's possible to add more games.
