I voted for SM3DL, but DK and Sonic will be day 1 purchases for me as well. I'm not sure if I'll be getting Windwaker anytime soon. Already beat the one on GameCube.
I'm going to buy Shantae. I have a very large library of GB/GBC carts. I just couldn't spend the money for some of the more rare gems like this one, which can easily go for a 100 bucks, even in very used condition.
Yeah, Code Of Princess is a beautiful and great playing game, save for the framerate issues. I thoroughly enjoyed playing that game for many hours. A sequel would be great.
Thanks for the reply. I guess Killer Instinct was only published by Nintendo but not copyrighted. But there still lies an uncertainty for the reasons why Nintendo pulled the Donkey Kong Country trilogy off of the Wii Shop. Was it copyright infringement on certain intellectual properties? If not, then it's just plain sillyness to take out three of the best selling games in the VC.
I don't see this issue as black-and-white. For example, Donkey Kong country has been pulled off the Wii Shop. And Killer Instinct is going to be a launch game for Xbox One.
I don't hate Tingle. I loved Balloon Fight. I wish that Tingle's Balloon Fight was released in the US. I'm actually thinking of getting an imported copy of the game. This whole thing about 'hating' Tingle is based on assumption, I think.
I'm going to try to stick to buying carts when it comes to retail games. But it wasn't always the case for me, because I wanted to get that FREE NES Donkey Kong (original edition) game from Club Nintendo when Paper Mario came out.
Cool list. It's definitely missing Megaman X in there. Just wanted to remind you guys what I read here in the past. DK Jr. and Diddy Kong are not the same monkey. Although, that mythology is a little on the messed up side and you probably don't want to get into it.
I guess there is some cause for celebration. 2 years of 3DS!!! Got my first 3DS on day 1. My first game was Pilotwings Resort. Slim pickings with the launch titles. But there were still a bunch of DS games that I could play and I had Netflix...nice to have those features as well.
Here are my top ten most played games in my activity log: 1. Paper Mario: Sticker Star 2. New Super Mario Bros. 2 3. Mario Tennis Open 4. Ocarina of Time 3D 5. Code of Princess 6. Kid Icarus: Uprising 7. Super Mario 3D Land 8. Fire Emblem: Awakening 9. Mario Kart 7 10. Pushmo
Hey, I check this site every day. You guys must be doing something right. I hardly ever look at any other site when it comes to Nintendo games. I used to check Gamespot, but over the years I felt that they became completely biased against Nintendo games. The Zelda: Skyward Sword review they had was the last straw for me and I haven't looked at a single review from them ever since. Do you know how many people told me that Skyward Sword is a bad game without actually having played it? Ask them where they heard that, it's always Gamespot. I feel that I missed out on some great games because of them.
I do have this in my large collection of GBA games (currently owning about 130), but haven't played it yet. There's also a GBA kart(?) racer for the franchise called Banjo-Pilot, supposedly it's in the same fashion as Diddy Kong Racing (another Rare-made game).
I love my DS Lite and currently own 50 DS games and 125 GBA games that I can play on it. Got some pretty cool games for cheap last week. Target was selling Golden Sun: Dark Dawn brand new for $14.99. Then I went to Gamestop and picked up an Atlus game called 'Summon Night: Twin Age', a pretty cool action RPG for only 4 bucks. Got Magical Starsign for 3 bucks, a decent RPG published by Nintendo.
Oh yes, this is one of those 8-bit games that I mastered. When everyone else in school was talking about Zelda (which I hadn't owned yet), I was honing my skills on this less popular game. It took me two months to finally beat it. But after that, I had every enemy and death trap nailed...and yes, it only took 15 minutes. Castlevania is, still to this day, my favorite NES game ever.
Beating Dracula was pretty hard, but there is a methodical way of doing it. It was the Grim Reaper that scared me most. With him floating around and sickles flying at you from all directions, it was CHAOS!
My advice for the Grim Reaper? Try to have Holy Water and a 'III' when you get to him. Lob those Holy grenades at him when he is on the ground, the flames from the ground will keep him immobilized, while you continually whip him. It's not easy, but it was the easiest and quickest method I used against him.
I had both when I was young. I had Coleco's Pac-Man table top as well, which was really nice because you could play 2 Pac-Mans at the same time (made for 2 players, but that didn't stop me).
Thumbs up to Masahiro Sakurai's opinion. I hate when the story line slows down the gameplay. Some games have story lines that are actually longer than the gameplay, even when trying to skip through.
Wow, I payed $29.99 for the cart version of Bit Trip Saga when it came out. I would have gladly downloaded it for 1/3 of that price. Fractured Soul, Ketzal's Corridors and Sakura Samarai are on my list. Already own the others.
This game was hard to find in stores. I have a copy, but no CD or artbook. Anyways, no matter. I have the physical copy to play on my 3DS and 3DSXL. But I also downloaded a copy so that I can play with a friend. We need more online players. I don't think a physical copy will go down in price much, new or used. Atlus games seem to hold their value longer due to their rarity. Just download the game, play it, and have fun.
Pinball mechanics are really tough to work with in the programming department, and Zen really puts a lot of care into making way-better-than-average pinball games. It's about time that they get to put their pinball tables on a Nintendo home console. And yes, that IS exciting!
There's nothing good on that list at all. I'm suspecting that they are trying really hard to push the Hello Kitty game this week. By releasing other mediocre titles, Hello Kitty isn't so overshadowed...lol. Sorry Nintendo, that trick isn't going to work with me.
The Game Boy Advance SP with the model #: AGS-101 are the best Game Boy Advance systems, IMO. The AGS-101 has the extra bright screen and can still play Game Boy and Game Boy Color games. The Micro's screen is smaller in comparison and only plays GBA games.
WOW! Totally didn't expect this. Can't wait for it to hit NA. This game munched a ton of my quarters when I was a kid. AAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!! Dies and keels over...Comes back to life GET READY!
Already own Capcom Classics Remixed and Reloaded for my PSP. This would have to be extra special on the 3DS for me to buy it. If the games have a 3D arcade cabinet like Pacman & Galaga Dimensions has, then I'll consider it.
I'm surprised no one mentioned Contra 4 for the DS. They did a GREAT job with that one. I can foresee WayForward carrying the torch for the 2-D versions of Metroid. But I'm on the skeptic side if they plan to make a 3-D game. I'm sure they would do a better job then Tecmo did with Other M. But Retro nailed it with the Prime series, imo. If WayForward can do as good or better, I'm all for it.
I know there aren't many high scoring reviews for this game. But it IS unique. Seeing through the eyes of other animals is not something you hear about in gaming. It's WORTH trying if you can find a used copy for less than 10 bucks like I did.
I'm going to hold off a bit on the Wii U. What will I miss out on? Another New Super Mario Bros. game? Nintendo Land? Not a big deal. Let the kids have their X-mas. I can wait.
I'm going to take a trip to the retro game store and buy myself some old (but still good) Gamecube games that nobody else seems to want.
One helpful tip for the second stage of Gold Rush: Don't lose the first koopa on the platform at the beginning. Grab his shell and let it run across the bottom platform of the boat. It'll go back and forth throughout the entire stage, taking out the flying cheep-cheeps along the way. Lots of coins to be made there.
The Gold Rush pack is a great booster for reaching that 1,000,000 coin mark. I went from 180,000 to 1,000,000 in about 4-5 hours. It's kind of upsetting that you can't go past the 30,000 coins, though. I was up to 24,000 before I reached the last flagpole. I got the 2x at the end and thought "48,000, alright!!", but only ended up with the 30,000 that was allowed. Still, it isn't that easy to get 30,000 in any other pack.
I probably didn't give the game a good enough chance to really give a decent opinion. I didn't get an instruction booklet, so I'm not exactly sure what I was supposed to do in the game. If you play Tetris to see how high of a score you can get, then this is probably no different.
I bought the cartridge at a flea market for $3, recently. This is definitely a game that needs an instruction booklet. It's a shmup/puzzle game, but it's heavier on the puzzle than it is a shmup. I only bought it on a whim, because I'm a fan of Konami/Ultra games. But I lost interest in the game within minutes.
Gameboy Color FTW! I did 100% of Wario Land and Wario Land II on one set of batteries that I bought at the dollar store. There were 8 in the pack. No need for rechargeable batteries when you do the math and find out that it would cost more. 2 dollars will last me the whole year.
I really liked Cave Story a lot, it was a quality experience. It was (and probably still is) free on the PC years ago, and I couldn't believe how someone could make a great game like that and not make any money from it. But the cash cow has definitely reared it's ugly head on this one. I stayed away from the retail 3DS version because I thought it looked too cluttered. I didn't feel the need to get the DSiWare version because I already had the WiiWare version. But this new e-shop version sounds like the one I wish I had the whole time. Damn you, cash cow! shakes fist in the air
I'm going to finish getting all the star coins on New Super Mario Bros (DS), only a few left. During that time, I will be anticipating on playing New Super Mario Bros. 2 after.
BTW, Super Mario Sunshine was awesome and got way too much bad press. I personally think it deserved a sequel. I miss the FLUDD. I agree that it is a great summer time game...don't know why...it just is.
I already have the Skyward Sword WiiMote and the Goldeneye Classic Controller. Limited Supply? I had to get this nunchuck. I'm glad I saved my coins til now.
