"You'll never see a game like Night Trap on a Nintendo system, Mr Judge sir!" "The DS is not going to replace the GameBoy line guys, it's a third pillar!" "Nintendo is not interested in day-one DLC, we respect our consumers!" You are here: "Physical releases are important to us and we're not going to move on to key cards and digital-only. In the immediate future. I mean, definitely not this week."
Can't decide between the two, so just went with the less popular one. @MatthewYoung I don't think Natsume owns anything other than the name Harvest Moon and the translations they've done. The lead character artist for Bokumono is also still the same one from the beginning as far as I know, either her art style just changed with time or some higher-ups are demanding a specific type of design, I dunno.
@NintendoWife I am going to play it, I'd play it even if it used stick figures. That was not the point of my post. @khululy I know you were not talking about pixel art, that was the joke. I agree with you.
@khululy Here's a translation of this post for Ron Gilbert, in case he's looking at these comments: "I am in love with pixel art and would not accept this game if it's anything but pixel art. If it was, I totally wouldn't think the chosen art style looks like a cheap PowerPoint presentation."
Footnote, because you need those these days: I'm joking and I'm still interested in the game, it's just disheartening that Ron and people who defend the art style keep pushing the idea that people dislike it simply because it's not pixel art.
@Henchdog I'm sure Naka's contributions were significant, but I always thought Hirokazu Yasuhara didn't get enough recognition. He even directed 3 & Knuckles, which I consider my favorite game of all time.
@MKCustodial He said Curse would still be canon and I noticed Morgan LeFlay from Tales in the trailer, so he's not ignoring everything after 2 apparently.
No sir, I don't like it. The artstyle that is. I'm still gonna play it because it's a new Monkey Island, but the way it looks is a bummer. I think anything else would've been preferable.
I have to see it in action more before I make a judgement. But from what we've been shown, I wouldn't have gone in this direction. Would've preferred either the more classic cartoony visuals of Curse, or the more realistic art style of the first two games, which juxtapositions great with the wacky humour of the series. That said, I don't think it looks terrible so far and I'm just happy we're getting a new game at all. Was afraid Disney will stick the franchise in their vault forever.
The 3-button one again. They literally have one of the best controllers for 2D games sitting right there with the 6-button one, but they keep insisting on this one. Why? It can't save them that much money.
"it seems the story's hero only has a taste for romantic partners that value his strength and battling prowess over his personality" It says you need to raise your charisma and intelligence right there. Weird and unnecessary dig either way.
Well all right, I guess I'm keeping it in the back burner until those updates are out. Framerate in particular bugged me from what I played, especially after getting used to FoMT's smooth one. And I'm usually not that particular with that.
Should be getting it tomorrow, so I guess I'll see. I'm still playing Friends of Mineral Town though, so this will probably be on the back burner for a bit. Hopefully it receives a patch in the meantime.
"Cribbing from Stardew Valley a little, the game will also include sprinklers to water the crops."
Previous games in this series have had sprinklers though, many years before Stardew Valley.
@Friscobay
Gay marriage is already confirmed and the FoMT remake already had it. It was only called a best friends ceremony in Japan.
@benchan
Yup.
Behold, the 184th comment under this news article which nobody will read, is completely fatuous, generally pointless and most likely already expressed in one way or another several times over: I don't get it.
@Kyloctopus "Everyone gets it at this point." Apparently not, considering some of the first comments on this article. Bokujo was never a huge mainstream series so a lot of people still have no idea about what happened. I'm not bothered by the PSA being everywhere if it means people are informed. Natsume are bringing it upon themselves by actively trying to lead people on, they could've been more transparent about all this.
Copy should be here tomorrow. Maybe this time I'll go through the third arc and marry Clorica. Hope the things I've been hearing about some of the RNG being removed are true.
@Lalivero "Looks like I'm gonna continue to wait a lil more to see if that whole '200+ pokes will be added after the main game' thing is true"
It's not, the game has already been datamined. The whole idea of that was based off a random 4chan anonymous post. Let it go.
@patbacknitro18 Yes, it's obviously that one. I was just pointing out we haven't seen it spit out a Pikachu yet. The leak mistakenly called it a seagull though.
@patbacknitro18 Apart from that, the other things in the leak still to be shown are the "evil" legendary Eternatus, a regional Meowth form (looking like a "ball of spikey grey fur"), Lapras' gigantamax form (musical-themed), the chipmunk pokemon in berry trees (Skwovet and Greedunt), fairy type gym led by an actress named Opal, a gym leader named Kabu and some gym challenges. Oh, and that cormorant pokemon being able to spit out a Pikachu on occasion.
@ALinkttPresent I don't think Ash ever said he wanted to catch them all. He wants to become a "Pokemon master", whatever that entails. @playstation_king Finn from Adventure Time aged during the show, though.
I'm leaning more towards Shield right now, but since I've decided on getting it used, I might get Sword if I find a good deal. I'm not that bothered about exclusive pokemon anyway, online trading exists.
I like the design, but the typing, ability and it's signature move being another Hyper Beam is kinda disappointing. Also, I don't understand why it was glitched at first (aside from obviously trying to drum up interest). I though that was going to tie in somehow.
@Octane Oh, you meant you hatched 100 eggs in total, not just 10 km ones. Ok, that makes more sense. I know the Pokemon is decided when you get the egg, I was just kinda annoyed that I managed to only get 3 eggs that even had a chance of hatching into an Unown during the event. I guess it doesn't really make a difference one way or another, but you know.
Even more regionals and another rare evolution stone. Great. I think I'll just give up on completing any dex after Johto. @Octane "Hatched almost a 100 eggs in a week, didn't get a single Unown." Well, I feel a bit better about not being able to hatch one now, I only managed 3 because I kept getting only 2 and 5 km eggs.
I'm warming up to the art style (even if that Karen is... not Karen), but I can't shrug the feeling that it looks like a budget title, and it'll apparently be full price, at least in Japan. That would feel pretty steep. Apparently this is the first of a "reunion series", so we should be expecting more remakes in the future. Keeping my fingers crossed for a 64 remake with character designs that are closer to the original. @k8sMum You're not alone. Every time I hear people raving about SV, I try it again because "maybe this time it'll click", but it just never does for me.
@Yorumi I don't doubt it would still sell well relative to other games, a large franchise like this can't go down so suddenly, but if it underperforms (for a Pokémon game, anyway), I'm still hopeful it would have at least some effect.
Well, if the old "vote with your wallet" mantra has ever been true, it's now. Masuda's response showed us clearly they really don't care, as long as people keep buying. Let's see if fans can keep their drug habit in check if they want to see any improvements to their franchise.
@retroxdp It's not, it's produced by Marvelous, but it seems they've handed development to some other studio, presumably because they're working on the new Story of Seasons. It does look pretty cheap, but I think if it was Natsume it would've looked far worse.
