Re: Nintendo: "Physical Games Are Still A Key Part Of Our Business"

Verg

"You'll never see a game like Night Trap on a Nintendo system, Mr Judge sir!"
"The DS is not going to replace the GameBoy line guys, it's a third pillar!"
"Nintendo is not interested in day-one DLC, we respect our consumers!"
You are here:
"Physical releases are important to us and we're not going to move on to key cards and digital-only. In the immediate future. I mean, definitely not this week."

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Duel - Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life

Can't decide between the two, so just went with the less popular one.
@MatthewYoung I don't think Natsume owns anything other than the name Harvest Moon and the translations they've done. The lead character artist for Bokumono is also still the same one from the beginning as far as I know, either her art style just changed with time or some higher-ups are demanding a specific type of design, I dunno.

Re: Feature: "Unfinished Business" - Why Gilbert & Grossman Returned To Monkey Island

@khululy
Here's a translation of this post for Ron Gilbert, in case he's looking at these comments:
"I am in love with pixel art and would not accept this game if it's anything but pixel art. If it was, I totally wouldn't think the chosen art style looks like a cheap PowerPoint presentation."

Footnote, because you need those these days: I'm joking and I'm still interested in the game, it's just disheartening that Ron and people who defend the art style keep pushing the idea that people dislike it simply because it's not pixel art.

Re: Negative Fan Reaction To 'Return To Monkey Island' Made Its Creator 'Sad'

I have to see it in action more before I make a judgement. But from what we've been shown, I wouldn't have gone in this direction. Would've preferred either the more classic cartoony visuals of Curse, or the more realistic art style of the first two games, which juxtapositions great with the wacky humour of the series.
That said, I don't think it looks terrible so far and I'm just happy we're getting a new game at all. Was afraid Disney will stick the franchise in their vault forever.

Re: Harvest Moon: One World Announced For Nintendo Switch

@Kyloctopus "Everyone gets it at this point."
Apparently not, considering some of the first comments on this article. Bokujo was never a huge mainstream series so a lot of people still have no idea about what happened. I'm not bothered by the PSA being everywhere if it means people are informed. Natsume are bringing it upon themselves by actively trying to lead people on, they could've been more transparent about all this.

@patbacknitro18 Apart from that, the other things in the leak still to be shown are the "evil" legendary Eternatus, a regional Meowth form (looking like a "ball of spikey grey fur"), Lapras' gigantamax form (musical-themed), the chipmunk pokemon in berry trees (Skwovet and Greedunt), fairy type gym led by an actress named Opal, a gym leader named Kabu and some gym challenges. Oh, and that cormorant pokemon being able to spit out a Pikachu on occasion.

I'm warming up to the art style (even if that Karen is... not Karen), but I can't shrug the feeling that it looks like a budget title, and it'll apparently be full price, at least in Japan. That would feel pretty steep.
Apparently this is the first of a "reunion series", so we should be expecting more remakes in the future. Keeping my fingers crossed for a 64 remake with character designs that are closer to the original.
@k8sMum You're not alone. Every time I hear people raving about SV, I try it again because "maybe this time it'll click", but it just never does for me.
