@bro2dragons they haven’t noticed they ate all the Durants on that side yet.

@RupeeClock well, at least with the rivals you can rationalize that one ran away from the other/they fight for territory.

For the others, I guess it’s just their take on version exclusives. After all, these Pokémon that are “meant for each other” didn’t really meet in their original games without trading.

@thesilverbrick With Sinnoh Stones, it kinda made sense, since they were exclusively for Gens 1-3 'mon to evolve into their Gen 4 evolutions. Unova Stones are used to make Gen 5 Pokémon evolve into Gen 5 Pokémon. What the actual heck, Niantic?

@KayFiOS I was wondering about that as soon as I read it. That doesn't really make sense to me. It's just another arbitrary system to make it harder to evolve pokemon.

A number of my favorite Pokemon are from Unova, so I might pick it back up...for a few minutes. lol

If you want to complain about odds, complain about the Unown event from 2 weeks ago. Hatched almost a 100 eggs in a week, didn't get a single Unown.

Yeah the items quickly go from precious resources to inventory waste once you do start getting them...

Aw, Durant is one of my favorites. I don't care much for the others.

Even more regionals and another rare evolution stone. Great. I think I'll just give up on completing any dex after Johto.

Well, I feel a bit better about not being able to hatch one now, I only managed 3 because I kept getting only 2 and 5 km eggs.

@Verg Doesn't matter if you get 2 and 5 km eggs. The game doesn't decide the egg first and then the Pokémon. It decides a Pokémon whenever you get an egg, and then it is put in its according egg. It's just that the 10km pool is much rarer, that's why it's harder to find 10km eggs. In fact, I prefer 2 and 5km eggs, because they're faster to hatch and get rid of than a 10km egg (if it isn't an Unown anyway).

But chances of getting an Unown were something like 1% I've read. That means you need to hatch about a 100 eggs to find one.

@Octane Oh, you meant you hatched 100 eggs in total, not just 10 km ones. Ok, that makes more sense.
I know the Pokemon is decided when you get the egg, I was just kinda annoyed that I managed to only get 3 eggs that even had a chance of hatching into an Unown during the event. I guess it doesn't really make a difference one way or another, but you know.

It’s pretty much a mutually beneficial combination and they just have to reach out if they want that.

@thesilverbrick sinnoh stones were pretty easy to get. You had a 1/7 chance from once a day training against the team leaders and a 1/4 chance of three times a day per person poke battles against friends.

Not a fan of the Unova stone, didn't like the Sinnoh Stone either.

Gotta say making the elemental Monkey's the region exclusives is great - because I don't care about any of them! Ugly, poorly designed Pokemon created solely for making Black and White easier for kids.

Overall I consider gen 5 the weakest Gen by quite a lot. But there are a few gen 5 Pokemon I really like, mixed in with a pile of generic Pokemon that are very much just remakes of older Pokemon for the sake of being different. Gen 5 was mostly a quantity vs quality gen. But we did get gems like Galvantula, Haxorus, Chandulure, Hydreigon, Ferrothron, Sawbuck Volcrona and Victini.

At least in Pokemon Go we wont have to deal with the stupidly high level so many Pokemon in gen 5 evolved at. Pokemon like Hydreigon, Brivary, Volcrona, Mandibuzz and Bisharp evolve at such stupidly high levels you might have reached the Elite 4 without them evolving! Hydreigon would never be fully evolved in a normal playthrough!

@Verg Yeah, for what it's worth, I hatched about 20 10km eggs. Not that it makes a difference, but to give you an idea. Got 3 Gibles and the baby Lucario at least.

@Heavyarms55 First time I see someone share a similar opinion on gen 5! There's a few I like, but most were just gen 1 clones to make up for the fact that there were no mons from previous gens.

Gen 6 is kinda weak in my opinion as well. Sun and Moon is better in terms of designs.

@Octane I know right? In recent months with all the talk of new games, I've seen a lot more people than I expected say they loved gen 5 so much. While I certainly didn't hate it, I would rank it very low. (better than the Let's Go titles at least!) Also the competitive format tainted my opinion a bit too. The weather wars were nasty in both singles and VGC! Although I do miss the type gems...

Because XY had so many classic Pokemon, it felt like there were very few new Pokemon but generally I like most of them. Definitely feel like more effort went into their designs than the majority of B/W Pokemon. Also I generally liked the competitive formats in gen 6. Breeding was vastly improved over prior games, no more weather wars, and despite feeling like there were fewer new Pokemon, single player had an awesome variety of Pokemon to choose from.

4th gen, namely Platinum and HG/SS is still my favorite gen however. The outstanding remakes of my favorite childhood Gold and Silver, plus the introduction of online battles, physical special split, a ton of new Pokemon that still rank among my favorites today and online battles with no team previews making lead match-ups really important! Downsides were that breeding was still absurdly hard, cheating rampant (Ever hear of Wondertomb?) and slow walking and HP bars...

Gen 1 only gets the nostaligia vote from me. Played it first as a kid. But it hasn't aged well.

Gen 2 is simply obsolete because of HG/SS but I adored it when it was new!

Gen 3 has special note for the GameCube titles being really cool. I actually really liked the Battle Tower Challenge!

And Gen 7 irked me with the Let's Go titles and the Ultra games being 80% the same game as S/M. But unlike others I enjoyed Z-moves and like a lot of Pokemon designs. Also didn't like how it wasn't your story, it was Lilly. Lilly should have just been the MC with Gladion as the rival.
